Receive Wonderful Blessings of Wealth, Peace and Protection from the Four Dharmakaya Relic Mantras and Lama Atisha Combined Amulet (1): A Focus on a First Class Buddhist Relic Called the “Four Dharmakaya Relic Mantras”!

This is a long post. In fact, it is one of my longest post. I have written about his before and I decided to do a repost because the “FOUR DHARMKAYA RELIC MANTRAS AMULET” and the “LAMA ATISHA AMULET” will play a very important role this year and the coming years. Separately, both amulets are quite powerful but combined they are simply one of the best. I decided to repost / rewrite this so that you will understand what they are about and how special they are.

I have been wanting to write about these two powerful amulets for a long time, since I started this blog, but it was only 2013 when Guru Lama gave me the permission to write about it.

I’ve known about THE FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS and the LAMA ATISHA PROTECTION AMULET for quite some time now and I’ve always wanted to write about them, however, THE FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS and the LAMA ATISHA PROTECTION AMULET both requires a special permission for one to be able to write about them.

In one of my trips to Singapore last 2012, I met with my guru Lama, and when I informed him about my blog and my desire to write about THE FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS and the LAMA ATISHA PROTECTION AMULET, he said that I can only write about them once he has given me the permission and once we have ensured that writing it will benefit my readers as well and that I will write for a bigger purpose. In short, I cannot write about them only because I believe in THE FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS and LAMA ATISHA PROTECTION AMULET and that I want to write about it. He also added that I need to pass several ‘test’ before I can write about them. I cannot go into details as to what are those tests are but it involves an oracle to be done by my guru Lama.

As you can discern, I was already given the permission to write about THE FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS and the LAMA ATISHA PROTECTION AMULET, this is because I did pass the test, and the oracle indicated that I could start writing about them because this has a higher purpose. I’ll write about the higher purpose in the third part of this series.

I will first write about the THE FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRA. It is not just one of the most powerful mantra in the world, but more than that it is also considered as relic, and it is one of the most powerful relics in Buddhism.

THE FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS is perhaps one of the most powerful Buddhist relics. It is considered as a first class relic and is considered by high lamas, like Lama Zopa Rinpoche, to be one of the most important mantra and sacred relics in the world.

THE FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS is compose of four (4 ) different relic mantras, and these are the following:

  • STAINLESS PINNACLE DIETY
  • SECRET RELIC
  • ZUNG OF THE EXALTED COMPLETELY PURE STAINLESS LIGHT
  • 100,000 ORNAMENTS OF ENLIGHTENMENT

To be completely honest, it took me years of on and off lessons before I understood the importance of the THE FOUR DHARMKAYA RELIC MANTRAS, but even then I don’t think I understand it completely.

However, what I’m sure of is having this relic is a great wonderful blessing of incomparable magnitude.

For those who are currently facing some difficulties in their life, THE FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS is sure to help make things easier. It’s also good to create good karma.

I first heard about the wonderful power of THE FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS several years back, I was already a student of Feng Shui then but not yet a serious student of Buddhism. This happened in Malaysia. I was looking for a Prayer Wheel that used a microfilm; this was when Prayer Wheels are still mostly made of ordinary paper. When I wasn’t able to get what I was looking for, the seller told me that more than the Prayer Wheel; I should get myself a FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS and use it as an amulet. That was the first time I heard about THE FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS, and the seller told me about it.

According to the seller, he used to be poor, as in poor as one can be, his mother and himself lives on the street and they were times when they are only able to eat once – a – day and only if somebody will give them their scraps.

One of the places that they frequent is a Buddhist temple, and there a monk, would always give them food whenever he is around. In exchange, his mom would always ask him to help out in the temple. And although the monk doesn’t have much either because of his vow of poverty, and would only eat what was donated to him, he would always make sure that he has something for the seller and his mom.

One time, the monk gave him a 3 pieces of bread (mantou – a siopao dough without the meat). He only ate one, and when asked why, he explained that he would give 2 pieces to his mom. This earned him some praise from the monk. He then left to look for his mom to give the bread. On his way to look for his mom, who is doing some menial jobs in nearby market in exchange for a small amount of money, he came across a boy who looks really hungry. According to the seller he took pity, and decided to give a piece to the boy, although he also said that he had second thoughts because a piece of bread, for somebody who is always looking for food like them is a very big thing. Nevertheless, he said since he knows how it is to be really hungry; he decided to give it to the boy. Little did he know that the monk followed him to give him some fruits. The monk saw what he did and asked told him to bring he should ask his mom to go with him to the temple the next day.

When the seller and his mom arrived at the temple the following day, a monk told his mom about the generous act of the seller, who was a young boy then. The monk told his mom that he is giving both of them a powerful mantra written on yellow paper that they must wear on their body at all times. The said paper was already rolled and put in a leather pouch.

According to the seller, as soon as they started wearing the mantra on their body things started to change. Things started to get better. His mom found a regular job, and he got to go to school with the help of a businessman who owns the company where his mother works as a janitress.

As proof, the seller showed me the mantra given to them by the monk; it is now enclosed in a gold amulet holder, which he wears as a pendant. According to the seller, he has since married and was gifted with 11 children, who all became professionals! He humbly shared that the poor homeless boy now has 2 houses in the US, a house in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Germany! Of course, not to mention his 4 houses in Malaysia. He simply works because he doesn’t want to grow senile and his store also becomes a venue for him to share Buddhist amulets to people who can’t afford them.

It was only later that he found out that the mantra given to him by the monk is a blessed copy of THE FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS.

I like his story but didn’t put so much thought about the THE FOUR DHARMKAYA RELIC MANTRAS, until my guru Lama gave one copy to me and told me about it’s marvelous benefits.

It has the power to save us from harm and bless us if we strive to have a good heart.

It also has the power to bring us to enlightenment, something that every Buddhists aspire for.

It has the power to give us good rebirth.

It has the power to grant us enough financial wealth luck.

If you don’t know whether a place your going to has good or bad Feng Shui or Chi, wearing a copy of THE FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS on your body has the ability to protect you from all the negative chi or bad effects of the bad Feng Shui of a place.

Most Buddhist scriptures states that THE FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS should be put inside a stupa for it to be effective, and most of the teaching of Lama Zopa Rinpoche indicates that it should be put inside a stupa. However, the Dalai Lama said that although a stupa is preferred, it is not a requisite for THE FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS to be effective. A stupa is not the most practical thing to have by most people. It’s quite difficult to acquire one. And as we can see with the story of the seller, THE FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS was effective even if it was just place inside a leather pouch. My own copy of the THE FOUR DHARMKAYA RELIC MANTRAS was initially just placed inside a red cloth; I later transferred it to a metal amulet holder.

Allow me to post here what Lama Zopa Rinpoche has to say about THE FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS. Please note that this was originally intended for other monks or Lamas so you have to make some adjustments in its interpretation to make it more applicable to a layperson like us.

The Four Dharmakaya Relic Mantras and Their Benefits

The four dharmakaya relic mantras (Stainless Pinnacle Deity, Secret Relic, Zung of the Exalted Completely Pure Stainless Light, and 100,000 Ornaments of Enlightenment) are a sacred relic. They are the highest relics of Buddha, relics of the dharmakaya. Other relics, the ones that we normally see, such as relics of the robes or parts of Buddha’s holy body, are secondary relics. These four mantras are the highest relic. After I learned about the unbelievable benefits of each of these mantras, I had them written down and we printed many. These are normally what we should put inside stupas, statues, and so on. These very special mantras give unbelievable power. If you have put these mantras inside a statue, the devas will come to worship that holy object three times a day.

By putting these mantras inside a stupa, even a bell that is offered to the stupa brings unimaginable benefit. For example, the negative karma of all sentient beings who hear the sound of that bell is purified. They are liberated from the lower realms. Their negative karma is purified and they receive a good rebirth. In that way, there is unbelievable benefit. It makes it so easy for sentient beings to purify negative karma and reach enlightenment.

Also, if you circumambulate a stupa that has these mantras inside even one time, it purifies the negative karma that causes you to be reborn in all the eight hot hells. The negative karma that causes you to be born in all the eight hot hells – from the lightest down to the heaviest, most unbearable suffering hell realm – is completely purified by going around a stupa with these mantras inside just once.

The Very Essence of the Extensive Benefits of the Four Dharmakaya Relic Mantras

The benefits of circumambulating and so forth are extensively explained, including the benefits from the tantric side, in the sutra called Arya Compassionate Eye Looking One and in the sutra called Compassionate White Lotus, and so forth.

Stainless Pinnacle Deity Mantra (Tsugtor Drime)
As explained by the Buddha in the Kangyur, there are skies of benefits for making even just one prostration, circumambulation, or offering to a holy object containing the mantra of the Stainless Pinnacle Deity (Tsugtor Drime):

It purifies completely the karmic obstacles of the five uninterrupted negative karmas (killing one’s father or mother, killing an arhat, causing blood to flow from a buddha, and causing a schism in the Sangha).

One will be completely liberated from the hell, hungry ghost, and animal realms and from the evil-gone realm of the yama world.

One will have a long life.

Like a snake changing its skin, when leaving the body, one will have the fortune to go to the blissful realm (i.e., a pure land).

One will never be stained by the smell of the womb.

All one’s wishes will be completely and exactly fulfilled.

If you put this mantra inside a stupa, you will never be reborn in the lower realms and will have a pure life until you achieve enlightenment. You will have good rebirths up until enlightenment is achieved.

This is most amazing. We have so many human problems that we can’t bear, so how could we bear the sufferings of the lower realms, such as being born as an insect, much less being born a hell being, animal, or preta? When human beings have problems, they can communicate. They can try many ways to resolve the problems. But animals and pretas cannot do this, and their suffering is so much greater. They have unbelievable problems, so there is no question about the hell beings whose suffering is unimaginably heavier.

So it is unbelievably precious that we can be freed forever from these sufferings, just by putting the Stainless Pinnacle Deity’s mantra inside stupas (100,000 copies of this mantra should be put into stupas). From now on, we will have pure lives and higher rebirths up until enlightenment is achieved.

So there are incredible benefits from building stupas and putting these Four Dharmakaya Relic Mantras inside. It is so easy to purify all the heavy negative karmas from beginningless rebirth. Anyone who has the opportunity to put this mantra inside a stupa is therefore the most fortunate being in the world. They create the cause for long life, as well as to be reborn in a pure land. Of course, this brings a lot of merit, but that didn’t happen without cause and effect and conditions, meaning we created a lot of good karma in the past.

Secret Relic Mantra (Sangwa Rigsel)
Also, as explained by the Buddha in the Kangyur, if you have this mantra inside a holy object, then all the buddhas will abide in that holy object. Therefore, there are skies of benefits for making even just one prostration, circumambulation, or offering to a holy object containing the Secret Relic mantra (Sangwa Rigsel):

One purifies the negative karma of the ten non-virtuous actions and so forth, and will be completely liberated from the eight hot hells, including the unbearable hell (Avici). One also purifies the five uninterrupted negative karmas

One will never turn back from peerless enlightenment. (That is, one will never go down; one’s life will always be directed toward enlightenment. This is irreversible; one will never go in the opposite direction.)

One will always attain higher rebirth.

By printing the Secret Relic Mantra, if you are given the blessing to print it, just once, you collect the same amount of merit as making offerings to 100,000 x 10 million x 100 billion buddhas. This was told to Vajrapani.

Having made offerings to as many buddhas as there are in ninety-nine sesame seed pods – that is how much merit you create and you are always guided by that many buddhas.

This is just a drop from the unimaginable benefits of this mantra.

Zung of the Completely Pure Stainless Light (Özer Drime)
There are many Zung of the Exalted Completely Pure Stainless Light mantras, and they are all contained within the Four Dharmakaya Relic Mantras. These mantras have unbelievable, mindblowing skies of benefit. As explained by the Buddha in the Kangyur, there are skies of benefit in making even just one prostration, circumambulation, or offering to a holy object containing the Zung of the Completely Pure Stainless Light (Özer Drime):

If one offers even a bell to a stupa containing this mantra, all the sentient beings in that area, animals or humans, by hearing the sound of that bell will be completely purified of the five uninterrupted negative karmas.

Normally, committing the five uninterrupted negative karmas causes one to be reborn in the lowest hot hell, which is extremely heavy suffering, but having this mantra inside a stupa purifies it all. This shows how unbelievably powerful this mantra is. Since even hearing the sound of a bell offered to such a stupa has incredible power to purify, there is no question that any insect or other being who sees or touches the stupa is purified of negative karma. Even just thinking about the stupa purifies the five uninterrupted negative karmas. That is amazing! It is so powerful! It is like a small flame that eventually grows into a fire that burns many thousands of miles of forest or entire cities.

Even water, rain or dust that just touches the stupa is so blessed that it purifies all the negative karmas of the insects on the ground who come into contact with it. And

the wind that touches such a stupa purifies the negative karmas of people or animals that it contacts and brings a good rebirth. Even if the shadow of the stupa touches people and insects, their heavy negative karma is purified.

From the Kangyur:

If this mantra is put inside a stupa then any being, including evil transmigratory beings, who sees the stupa, hears of the stupa, touches the stupa, or who is touched by dust or wind that comes from this stupa, will be free from all negative karmas. They will be born in the realms of happy transmigratory beings1 and they won’t be reborn in the lower realms.

Everything that touches the land the stupa is on becomes meaningful, including the rain that touches the stupa and then flows to the ground and touches worms. The worms’ negative karma is purified and they will receive a higher rebirth.

If there is a stupa containing this mantra in the center of a road or above a road and cars can pass under it or go around it, this is unbelievable purification. It doesn’t only purify the negative karma of this life, it purifies the negative karma of many past lives and plants the seed of enlightenment.

The Destroyer Qualified Gone Beyond [Shakyamuni Buddha] advised the Bodhisattva Great Sattva: Eliminating All Obscurations, Owner of the Secrecy, Vajra in the Hand [Vajrapani], the four guardians, the deva Unforgettable2 Owner [Brahma], and the devas of Tsangri, the Maha Deva, [the Hindu God Mahashora], and so forth: “You, the capable holy beings, I hand over this heart of the king of the secret mantra. Always keep it, put it in a jeweled samato [container]. Then proclaim it to all places. Continually reveal it to sentient beings. If you make sentient beings hear and see this mantra, their five uninterrupted negative karmas will be purified.”

100,000 Ornaments of Enlightenment (Jangchub Gyänbum)
Finally, as explained by the Buddha in the Kangyur, there are skies of benefits for making even just one prostration, circumambulation, or offering to a holy object containing the mantra of the 100,000 Ornaments of Enlightenment (Jangchub Gyänbum):

By putting even just one mantra of the Ornament of Enlightenment inside a stupa, it brings the same merit as having built 100,000 stupas – whether the stupa is gigantic like Bodhgaya or tiny like the size of a finger. Then, if you dedicate this merit for sentient beings, for their happiness up to full enlightenment, they receive unbelievable benefits and you receive unbelievable merit.

One collects the merit of having made offerings to all the buddhas, to all the Dharma, and to all the Sangha. Why? Because when you make offerings to a stupa

containing the 100,000 Ornaments of Enlightenment Mantra, you are not only making offering to a stupa. It becomes an offering to all the buddhas, the Three Rare Sublime Ones – all the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha that exist in the ten directions, in any universe.

After a person has died, chant that person’s name during the exact moment you put the mantra inside the stupa (before placing it inside the stupa, the mantra should be rolled correctly and covered in yellow cloth). Then you make offerings to the stupa – either actual offerings, or visualized, as in the seven limb prayer. If you visualize offerings, visualize all the flowers inside and outside, all the food offerings, all the water offerings, all the light offerings, everything! You can use all the offerings at my houses in California and Washington, as well as all the offerings at all the FPMT centers.

Buddha said to Ananda: “I explained this sutra for those beings who have very little merit and no devotion, for those who are overcome by doubt and cannot believe in the Dharma. For those sentient beings, I explained the 100,000 Ornaments of Enlightenment mantra.” That means Buddha explained this mantra for us.

Buddha also told Ananda: “In future times, if ordained ones don’t read this sutra that contains the benefits of this mantra and don’t make offering to this mantra, which makes it so unbelievably easy to purify the negative karma that causes one to be reborn in the lower realms and to accumulate the merit to achieve enlightenment and then offer extensive benefit to sentient beings, those ordained ones will suffer in the same way as householders. But if one listens to this teaching and then makes even one stupa with this mantra inside, one makes offering to all the 84,000 teachings of the Buddha.” This means that this mantra is an antidote to the 84,000 delusions, and one creates inconceivable heaps of merit. This is the same as reading the sutra called Tongpa Denpe Do (Sutra of the Ornamented Trunk)

When you put these four dharmakaya relic mantras inside a stupa, even mentioning the name of a person or animal that has died and praying for them brings them a good rebirth, such as birth in a pure land. That person will definitely be liberated from the lower realms. It is very powerful. You can also do the same for very sick people, making dedications for them to be healthy. As you put the mantras inside the stupa (or holy object), you should do the seven-limb practice and make the dedication for that person. This is a very powerful method for healing.

Holy objects such as these liberate sentient beings continuously twenty-four hours a day, every day. They purify the causes of the lower realms and bring sentient beings to the higher realms where they can meet the Dharma and then reach liberation and enlightenment.

Creating holy objects with these special mantras inside and making them available to others brings constant, unbelievable benefit to sentient beings. As soon as stupas and statues of the Buddha are made, they have the power to cause sentient beings to do actions such as circumambulating, prostrating, offering, and so forth, which then become virtuous actions creating the cause of enlightenment, even if those actions are done with the eight worldly dharmas3 and non-virtuous thoughts. These holy objects make it possible for sentient beings to create the cause to meet the Dharma and actualize the path. So even though we who are making these holy objects do not have realizations such as bodhichitta or emptiness, nor have we reached any of the bodhisattva bhumis, the holy objects we make still have the power to liberate sentient beings from the oceans of samsaric suffering, to actualize all the realizations of the path – Guru devotion, the three principles of the path, and the two stages – and then to achieve enlightenment.

These are illustrations of the activity of the Buddha’s unbelievable compassion toward us sentient beings and are but a few of the drops of Buddha’s unbelievable methods to liberate sentient beings quickly from the sufferings of samsara.

Zung is commonly understood to mean “mantra.” Rinpoche has further explained zung as “the unforgettable remembrance special wisdom, functioning to stop non-virtue and create virtue.”

 

The Creation of Wealth: Is Wanting to Get Wealthy A Sin and A Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet Miraculous Story Shared by My Guru Lama!

wealthEncountering new amulets is always a unique and wonderful experience. Being one of the instruments to make the amulet available to some people is even a bigger blessing. Just recently another powerful wealth amulet was introduced in this blog, the amulet is called the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet, and while it is a fairly new amulet to be read about, it is technically an old amulet since the instruction of it was found by my Guru Lama about 20 years ago in a Tantric Buddhist Scripture, whose original copy is said to have been written by high lama in Tibet approximately 1,200 years ago. This means, the amulet itself has been existing at the very least 1,200 years or maybe even more. There were several initiation for an amulet in the said Tantric Buddhist Scripture, and several are in use now, however, as to why this particular amulet has not been regularly used, nobody knows.

In the post called THE VAISRAVANA – DZAMBHALA WEALTH AMULET: AN INTRODUCTION TO A VERY POWERFUL WEALTH AMULET, I wrote about how Guru Lama in a deep meditative state discovered the holy book (a copy of the original one) where the instruction and ritual in making this amulet was written. He also made this amulet for the first time for one of his Sangha member who at that time lives in poverty but is now one of the famous rich Singaporean businessmen.

Although that was the first time Guru Lama made the amulet, it was definitely not the last. From time to time, he will make the amulet for some people who badly need it. And today, I will share one of the stories whom Guru Lama has blessed by making this amulet for that person.

Chun Qiet (CQ) is a Malaysian – Chinese who was born in Singapore. His parents are both devout Buddhist and are Sangha members of the temple where Guru Lama serves as Abbot. His family would always go to temple and Guru Lama knows the family quite well. One day, tragedy strike, CQ’s family had an accident and both of CQ’s parents died.

CQ was left with his father’s business. But CQ was only 19 then and he is not familiar with the business. An uncle came to help, but after 4 years they soon found out that he is not capable of running his brother’s business and suggested to CQ to just sell the business. Since CQ is close to Guru Lama, he sought him out and asked for blessings. CQ confessed that if he doesn’t sell the business he might be left with nothing. He might have to sell their house. But at the same time he confessed that he doesn’t want to sell his father’s business because he feels that it is his father’s legacy.

Guru Lama doesn’t agree that CQ’s father’s legacy is the business because he believes the CQ’s father’s legacy is CQ himself, who has proven himself to be a responsible and good young man.

After that conversation that Guru Lama had with CQ, he decided to make the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet for CQ.

Note: That was not the second time Guru Lama made the amulet; he has made it for several other people.

After receiving the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet, CQ was approached by an old friend of his father to ask about his welfare and the business. CQ opened up about his dilemma, and surprisingly this ‘uncle’ offered to invest in the business so CQ can help bring it back up, but on top of that he offered to help in the business. CQ’s uncle was initially reluctant because he was afraid that his brother’s friend would just take over the business. But somehow CQ realized that he got nothing to lose and he decided to just plunge into it, besides he felt that the amulet would help him.

Well, it did. That was 14 years ago. CQ is now again the sole owner of the business he inherited from his father. He has since made the business bigger. His father’s only guided him in the business for 3 years after which he gradually left the business until it was made official thru legal papers again 7 years after he invested and ‘meddled’ in the business. CQ has since then ‘bought him out’ of the business again, obviously this was done amicably. CQ firmly believes that it was because of the amulet that he was fortunate enough to be reacquainted with his father’s friend.

Vaisravana.

King Vaisravana a powerful Buddhist wealth god is the chief of the Four Heavenly Kings.

Guru Lama explains that the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet is not an amulet that gives you a quick rich blessing. Although, he has seen this happened also. However, he said the main effect of the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet is protection; protection that you don’t lose your wealth or money, but it is also helps you create your wealth by leading you to the right people and to the right sources. Guru Lama explains that in “Maha Biddhuya Vaircona Abihidisambohi Vikurvitadthisnana Vaipulya Sudrentaha Raja Nama Dharma – Paryaya”, the Tantric Buddhist Scripture or book where he found the guideline for the initiation of the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet, it clearly states that this particular wealth amulet is an amulet that helps gather wealth sources for you, then helps you actualize your wealth, after which it will stabilize it and makes it a continuous process to help your wealth grow bigger and bigger. Thus it is imperative that the container is a cylindrical metal to represent continuity and stability. What does this mean? It means it is unique in such a way that it doesn’t pull out from your bazi or karma or own luck the money, but rather it creates wealth luck for you. Other amulets like the Vajrapani Ruel, which is mainly a protective amulet but has a very high percentage of wealth luck manifesting features, will bring wealth luck to you if you have wealth luck base on your bazi or karma. Our life are pre – determined, but this doesn’t mean that it is only pre – determined on a single path, it is pre – determined with various paths, the normal is 3 – 4 paths, sometimes more, but there are times that it is only 2. However, admittedly there is a single path is more dominant than all the other paths. And what the Vajrapani Ruel and the other amulet does is get your wealth luck from all the other paths. The Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet is unique in such a way that even if there is no wealth luck in all the ‘paths’ of your life, it creates it for you. So in a way it changes your wealth destiny. So this amulet is very good for people who absolutely don’t have wealth luck. Nevertheless, for those who have wealth luck already but are unable to tap into it, the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet helps pull those luck for you, make it attainable and then creates a new path for you so that it becomes sustainable and continuous, it is not a “one time, big time” thing.

Inside the metal container are the consecrated mantras of King Vaisravana, the chief of the Four Heavenly Kings, and a known wealth god, with the consecrated mantras of the Yaksa (also spelled as Yaksha) wealth gods: Green Dzambhala, White Dzambhala, Yellow Dzambhala, Red Dzambhala, and Blue Dzambhala/Black Dzambhala!

Note: Dzambhala is also spelled as Dzambala, Jambhala, Jambala, Zambhala, Zambala.

The mantras were printed under strict Mahayana guidelines found in the Tantric Buddhist book and then consecrated under strict Mahayana – Hinayana initiations. It was then sealed under special prayers and mantras that a high lama like Guru Lama can chant.

Some of you might be asking why create a wealth amulet. That is because whether we accept it or not we are living in a time where there is a lot of uncertainty and money problems or financial problems seems to becoming more common. We all want and need financial blessings or money blessings and there is nothing wrong with it. It boils down to the intent and purpose; those are the things that determine the goodness or evilness of having money.

Majority of my readers are Christians, which is ironic because a lot of those attack my site as evil are also Christians, and I’m sure a lot of you will be asking whether isn’t this bad because ‘money is the root of evil’.

Money is not the root of evil. Money is simply that money, it’s a tool. It’s just like a computer or an iron or a chair or car, how we use it makes it evil or good. We are the root of evil, but we are also definitely the root of goodness. What we make of it determines whether it becomes evil or not.

To further answer whether money is bad, or wanting to be wealthy is bad or not, allow me to share something with you.

There is a silent but big number of theologist and scholars who believes that Christianity actually evolved from Buddhism. I have written about this in the past but to briefly put it, Christianity existed about 500 to 1000 years after Buddhism. And the similarities are simply astounding. For example, the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit are very similar to the concept of the Holy Trinity of Buddhism which consists of Amitabha Buddha (who even is not considered as Shakyamuni Buddha’s father is actually an ‘older’ Buddha and was the one who sent Bodhisattva Vajrapani to protect Sakyamuni Buddha on the eve of his full enlightenment), Buddha Sakyamuni (who is the Buddha of our world, who became human first and it has to be noted, if there is a tempting of Jesus Christ, there was also a tempting of Sakyamuni Buddha on the eve of his enlightenment), and Bhaysajyaguru Buddha or better known as Medicine Buddha (which is the only celestial Buddha, a Buddha that didn’t assume a human physical form). As you can see one can see that here this three Buddhas is similar to the Holy Trinity of the Christians.

Furthermore, the concept of the Holy Mother or the Virgin Mother can be akin to Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara who became Kuan Yin Bodhisattva. Even the white dress with the veil is very much similar. Not to mention her ascension is very similar to the ascension story not of Bodhisattva Kuan Yin but rather of Buddha Sakyamuni’s earthly mother.

Note: Bodhisattva Kuan Yin is also called, as already mentioned Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and the other names are Kuan Shi Yin Bodhisattva, Quan Shi Yin Bodhisattva, Quan Yin Bodhisattva, Guan Shi Yin Bodhisattva, Guan Yin Bodhisattva, Bodhisattva Chenrezig, or Kannon Bodhisattva.

Not only that, the concept of Second Coming is very similar to the concept of the coming of the next Buddha, which is Maitreya Buddha. I can go on and on about the other similarities but I think that is a topic for another post.

I say this because I find it surprising the despite of the many similarities, one of the major difference is how one looks at money or wealth. Most Christians whether Catholic or otherwise are not comfortable talking about wanting to have more money or increasing their wealth. That is despite of the fact churches are quite rich. In Buddhism, there is nothing wrong in wanting more money or having the desire to increase wealth. In fact, Buddhism teaches that wealthy people have good karma, it may or may not be from this life but it can be from past life or past lives. Also, being wealthy makes it easier to practice Dharma and to become kinder and helpful to other people. I’m not saying that it is a prerequisite, but what I’m saying is that it is a good tool to make oneself become more compassionate and be helpful.

Allow me to share a story that supposedly happened thousand of year ago:

Lama Atisha, the revered lama and Mahasiddha, came across an old man, dying of starvation in Bodghaya. Lama Atisha offered his own flesh, cut from his body, to save the old man. But the old man said, “How can I eat a monk’s flesh?” Lama Atisha felt helpless in the face of this suffering. In Lama Atisha’s moment of despair, Chenrezeig (Guan Yin), the Compassionate One, appeared to Atisha and said, “Out of my eye, will manifest Jambhala, the Buddha of wealth, to help suffering beings. I shall alleviate their poverty so they will not be distracted from practicing the good heart.”

This is just one version of the timeless story of Jambhala, a “wealth deity,” a profoundly simple story that illustrates why wealth is not necessarily the root of all evils. Again, I would like to bring your attention to the statement that says: I SHALL ALLEVIATE THEIR POVERTY SO THEY WILL NOT BE DISTRACTED FROM PRACTICING THE GOOD HEART. For me this is very important.

Note: The use of Buddha of Wealth is debatable whether it was really the term use. However, some scholars argue that sometimes Buddha is use every time there was selfless act done out of extreme compassion.

Buddhism is all about non – materialistic, and I think it’s teaching about wealth and being non – materialistic perfectly compliment each other. If you are wealthy and is non – materialistic then you have practiced or is practicing one of the greatest dharma.

When Jonathan Ciliberto, a famous writer and critic of books especially Buddhist books, reviewed the book “A Shower of Jewels: Deities of Wealth” he wrote that “a lack of money is an obstacle to practice” to dharma or Buddhism. He further stated that, “Poverty itself, can make practice difficult. It is difficult enough to find birth in the precious human realm, our opportunity to practice the Dharma, without adding to suffering with the burden of poverty. One of the great perfections of practice is generosity—helping all sentient being. Instead of thinking of wealth as selfish (or feeling guilt about its accumulation), we should instead consider the Buddhist concept that wealth can be a virtuous means to help others.”

In Christianity or even in the West (generally speaking) there is some stigma attached to the idea of accumulating wealth when discussing spirituality and generosity.

Venerable Zasep Rinpoche, during a teaching at Gaden Choling explained that in eastern countries wealth practice is not frowned upon as it might be in western cultures. (I would like to clarify that eastern here refers to non – Christian countries). He further added that while meditating on and trying to accumulate wealth might be perceived as the opposite of generosity, as always with Buddhist philosophy, it comes down to intention. If the intention is to achieve virtuous deeds like generosity, healing, relieving the suffering of others and oneself, then wealth practice and accumulation is a meritorious deed.

Vaisravana Dzambhala Wealth Amulet

The Vaisavana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet has the consecrated copies of the mantras of King Vaisravana of the Four Heavenly Kings and the mantras of the Five Dzambhalas. Furthermore, there are some special ingredients in powder form that are included to add to the potency of the amulet. Before it is sealed it is furthered consecrated on the image of The Four Heavenly Kings.It is placed in a metal case, not just for its durability and protection but according to the Tantric Buddhist Scripture book where Guru Lama got the instructions for this amulet, it has to be placed in cylindrical metal case to symbolize continuity and stability. Approximately 1.5 inches in height.

In the book “World of Transformation: Tibetan Art of Wisdom and Compassion”, which was authored by Marilyn Rhie, David Jackson and Robert A.F. Thurman, the father of Hollywood actress Uma Thurman who happens to be a good friend of Dalai Lama and Tibetan Buddhism scholar and professor, it stated that, These deities of prosperity are… benevolent, and are helpful to spiritual people by supporting the educational purpose of life in the Buddhist perspective.”

It makes sense, if we live in poverty and if we constantly look for money for our day to day survival, we won’t be able to progress in our spiritual growth and more importantly we are unable to help other.

The purpose of practicing wealth rituals or wearing or carrying amulets with high wealth effect like the Vajrapani Ruel, Surangama Mantra Amulet or the Traditional Sutra Amulets or wealth amulets like the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet is mainly to provide the means to help oneself and others. Its purpose is not to live a life of luxury but it’s to remove the obstacle to the spiritual practice like eliminating poverty, which is certainly a hindrance.

This reminds me of people like Nanay Socorro Ramos (of the famous National Bookstore) or Bill Gates, or some of my readers like the one in Malaysia or Davao (BM) who despite of being really rich, they maintain a humble and most of all they benefit other people with their wealth. They use their money to help other people.

Now is there anything wrong in wanting to get rich, have money and become wealthy? Well, Buddhism says if the intention is pure, then there is nothing wrong with it.

Tragedy this Hungry Ghost Month: 2017 Forecast Coming to Fruition?

I think it was late last year or early this year that I wrote my forecast for year 2017! One of the forecast is that calamity will happen this 3rd quarter or 4th quarter of 2017. If it happens on the 4th quarter of 2017 it will certainly start or be precipitated this 3rd quarter.

As we all know there is this calamity in Houston, Texas in USA. Hurricane Harvey brought massive rain that rivers overflowed so much that it is now officially been confirmed that it was the worst tragedy to happen in Houston in more than a century! Worst calamity in more than a 100 years! Add to that natural disaster is the disaster that it was said that the Trump US government was not ready for this calamity because of the fact that the two agencies involved in this kind of situation is at the present still unoccupied. To add to that tragedy, Joel Osteen, the Christian preacher and author of several books who has a house worth US$ 10.5 Million and has a large stadium that can fit thousand and thousands of people refuses to open its door for those who were displaced. This for me is worse than any natural disaster, for one person able to help somebody but refuses to do so.

Before Harvey, Typhoon Hato devastated Hong Kong and Macau, thousands were also displaced, this was one of the worst typhoon Hong Kong and Macau has seen in 50 years!

Isn’t it ironic that two natural calamities occurred in a span of two days at two different continents and they’re both ‘record breaker’ in terms of the devastation that they brought? And these things happened both during the Hungry Ghost Month which was preceded by the total solar eclipse!

But for me the biggest tragedy is still about to happen but it has already started when North Korea fired that missile that arced over Hokkaido even it eventually fell of the ocean. It was a clear provocation against Japan and the US who is currently having a joint training. It was not clear why neither Japan and the US didn’t intercept the said missile, but speculations say they avoided being embarrassed which means that they might be ready to intercept such a close encounter. Today, (time of writing is usually not the time of posting) North Korea has announced that the Japan missile is just a prelude to a Guam missile. While this incident doesn’t seem so tragic now, political analysts are already bracing themselves for an even bigger tragedy of worldwide consequence. It is pretty obvious that with Trump at the helm of things in America, he will not like to be bullied, much less by an Asian, and for somebody like him who seems to have strong racist tendencies, he will have taken as a direct provocation. Japan will definitely have to act on this also. We just hope that cooler heads prevail coupled with wisdom and humility and that the leaders doesn’t turn this into an arm – wrestle to determine who is more macho.

Several readers has contacted me asking whether these things are the ‘catastrophe’ that I have written about in my forecast for the year, and whether these things were aggravated by the Total Solar Eclipse on the eve of the Hungry Ghost Month.

I think these tragedies are what I said about the ‘catastrophe’ that will happen or start to happen on the 3rd quarter of the year. But what I’m afraid of is that there is more. I am not trying to be a prophet of doom, but modesty aside I have quite a high rate of accuracy when it comes to forecast. For example, I was the only Feng Shui writer who clearly indicated that there is going to be tragedy in Visayas that will cause famine when Typhoon Haiyan / Typhoon Yolanda happened, to the earthquake in Nepal, to the financial crisis. As early as middle of last year I Have forecasted that the US dollar would hit to more than 50 Philippine pesos. I said it might stabilize at 52 Philippine pesos but may hit as high as 54 Philippine pesos.

I’m saying these not to brag because my high rate of accuracy is not because I’m psychic but because it is of the accuracy in the interpretation of the ‘stars’ for the year, but that we should take these seriously. In the Philippines, we should also expect something to happen which is brewing already. This might ‘blow on our face’ either towards the end of the year or early next year.

And we are talking about this and saying we must take this seriously so that we can all be prepared, and we should all start praying. I believe and know that prayer works and so it is important to pray for our country and for this world.

In the meantime, on a personal level, the effect of the total solar eclipse on the eve of the Hungry Ghost Month could be some personal financial difficulty or illness. When this happens, it can continue until the end of the year. It is best to protect oneself with prayers or with powerful amulets like the Vajrapani Ruel or a gold Kalachakra pendant. My Guru Lama foreseeing this concern, has also recently released the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet that is suppose to address this concern. The Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet is a powerful wealth amulet.

A Special Amulet From Within for the Hungry Ghost Month: A Reader Shares Her Thought on How She Was Protected from One of the Worst Hungry Ghost Month We Ever Had.

In the preceding post, I talked about BM and how she was asking me about this year’s Hungry Ghost Month. As I said in that post, I made some mistake in saying that this year’s Hungry Ghost Month is not any worse than an ordinary Hungry Ghost Month, although like any other Ghost Month one has to be very careful and cautious with one’s dealings. And so when I found out about the Lunar Eclipse and the Total Solar Eclipse that is happening on the eve of the Hungry Ghost Month which is on August 21, I have to call her and rectify what I initially told her. But instead of making it a dreadful conversation as to what are the bad things that may happen, BM said something that is full of wisdom.

You see, last year people born in the year of the Ox have some terrible luck. We had one of the strongest #5 Flying Star (also known as Wu Wang or Five Yellow Star) and it landed on the sector of the Ox! Furthermore, last year’s Hungry Ghost Month was quite intense for people born in the year of the Ox. In the strictest sense of the word was bad year for the Ox, and very challenging one. BM was born in the year of the Ox and she survived last year with panache!!!!

What did she do? Obviously she armed herself with all the necessary amulets like the Five Element Pagoda gold pendant, the gold Kalachakra pendant, Vajrapani Ruel, etc., You name it she has it, but what is most important is that she armed herself with what I would like to call the AMULET FROM WITHIN!

What is this AMULET FROM WITHIN? It is quite simple really; basically she sincerely armed herself with goodness, compassion, kindness, and love. Obviously, this is not something that she does only for the sake of the Hungry Ghost Month or for counter acting the effects of bad luck. But this is something that stems from within her and sincere is an understatement.

You see whenever we talk, BM, would always candidly share that she prays everyday but she seldom prays for herself, she always pray for other people. 99% of her prayers are for other people and if she ever mentions herself it is simply a “postscript” rather than the center of her prayers. Below, I will put a link of all the BM articles, and there you will get to read about all the sincere charity that’s she do almost everyday. In so many ways, she is indeed a human bodhisattva.

And so when I was talking to her about the effects of the total solar eclipse on the eve of the Hungry Ghost Month that is happening this year, she reminded me that aside from all the amulets, prayers is what really saved her. And of course, all the merits she has planted by way of good deeds and good thoughts without expecting anything in return.

Recite – A – Sutra (10): Blessings from Reciting “The Sutra of the Past Vows of Earth Store Bodhisattva”!

Regular readers of this blog knows that I’m a great believe of reciting sutras because reciting sutras has the power to attract numerous blessings and offer strong protection to a person who recites it. In fact, simply having a copy of a sutra, especially if it’s the Traditional Sutra Amulet format, if one is unable to recite will give you financial blessings, peace, happiness, and protection. This blog has shared some of the personal testimonies of my readers who has requested for the Traditional Sutra Amulets (TSA).

This is a copy of the traditional SUTRA OF THE PAST VOWS OF BODHISATTVA KSITIGARBHA that my Guru Lama sent me.

But today, in this post, allow me to share with you some of the wonderful blessings you may receive if you recite the SUTRA OF THE PAST VOWS OF EARTH STORE BODHISATTVA. These are the blessings especially mentioned in the sutra. But to understand it further, I have copy – pasted the commentary (short explanation) of Venerable Master Hsuan Hua of the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas. This is to make the promise of the blessing a little more clearer.

Note: Earth Store Bodhisattva is also known or called as Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha and Di Zhang Pu Sa.

Here is the list of the blessings as stated in the sutra itself followed by commentary of Venerable Master Hsuan Hua:

First, they will be protected by gods and dragons. Gods, celestial dragons and celestial asuras will protect you because you know how to recite the Earth Store Sutra. Asuras in the heavens enjoy blessings but no authority. They swear to protect you. Gandharvas are music spirits before the Jade Emperor. They are also called “sniffing spirits”. Whenever the Jade Emperor lights up a particular incense, Gandharvas come. There are male gandharvas and female gandharvas. Male gandharvas wear a horn similar to chimeras on their heads. Once they get a whiff of this scent, they will dance and sing, so the celestial music rings in the heavens. Recite Earth Store Sutra and gandharvas will sing praises as they dance on air. Garudas are Great Peng birds with golden wings. Kinnaras are music spirits too. Maharagas are giant pythons. All of them protect someone who recite the Earth Store Sutra or bow to Earth Store Bodhisattva.

Second, their good roots will increase daily. Sometimes cultivators are extremely bold as they set their resolve on Bodhi; consequently doing a lot of merit. Sometimes they turn around and withdraw. They retreat because they feel that they do not experience any responses despite all the merit they do for Buddhism. Good results increase daily means that they do no retreat; instead they grow by the day. They develop blessings and wisdom, do good and virtuous deeds, achieve merit and always move forward vigorously in Buddhism. Why? It is because you recite Earth Store Bodhisattva’s name, recite the Fundamental Vows of Earth Store Bodhisattva Sutra or pay respects to Earth Store Bodhisattva that you experience the response of growing good effects on a daily basis.

Third, they will amass supreme causes pertaining to sagehood. This means they do various jobs in Buddhism, such as printing sutras and building temples. Repairing bridges and paving roads are about amassing supreme causes pertaining to sagehood too. Making sutras, turning the great Dharma wheel and doing all these good deeds are about cultivating the path to Bodhi and amassing supreme causes pertaining to sagehood.

Fourth, they will not retreat from Bodhi. Sometimes we are vigilant and sometimes we are lax in our cultivation. Vigilant, we are quite bold with everything. Lax, we feel that we are not getting any responses from any work we do, so we retreat. Recite Earth Store Sutra, recite Earth Store Bodhisattva’s name, and bow and make offerings to Earth Store Bodhisattva; we do not renounce our resolve for Bodhi. Our wish for enlightenment moves ahead and grows on a daily basis, never retreating.

Fifth, their clothing and food will be abundant. We are not short of clothes or food. People work their entire lives for those three meals a day. They work hard out of fear of dying because of starvation or cold. They are always looking for more money. When we did not have any money, we want 10,000 dollars. When we get our wish and earn 10,000, we find that lacking. We tell ourselves, if we had 100,000 dollars, we will retire. But when we make that 100,000 dollars, we remember that our kids have to go to school. We do not have enough money. We want to buy a car, so there is not enough money. We want to buy a cruise boat, so there is not enough money still. Thinking even bigger, we may want an airplane. Hundred thousand dollars does not do any good. We look for money.

When we find that one million dollars and are ready to buy that plane, the price of the airplane has gone up. We could have purchased it for $990,000 before, but now it is $9,900,000. The price has gone up by ten times. We cannot afford it once again. We can never catch up because of our greed. We were going to be satisfied and retired as millionaires, but we end up continuing with the pursuit. We are never satisfied and never content.

If you recite Earth Store Bodhisattva’s name, recite Earth Store Sutra, bow and make offerings to Earth Store Bodhisattva, you will always enjoy more than enough clothing and food. When you want to buy an airplane, you will earn more than enough money for two airplanes. That is how wonderful this Dharma is. In that case, I will hurry up and recite Earth Store Bodhisattva! Recite Earth Store Bodhisattva in the hopes of buying two airplanes is greed. Large amounts of greed will not bring about results. All we can do is try our best while reciting. Do not care so much about whether there will be results. Some say, “Master, I feel I am tricked by what you say!” Then what? Do not be tricked. Consequently, we must be content and be patient with what comes.

Sixth, they will never succumb to epidemics. Recite Earth Store Bodhisattva’s name and you will not contract any contagious diseases. Epidemics cannot touch you because there seems to be a border between you and the disease.

I remember when I was in Northeast China during a plague. A household of eleven had thirteen deaths in three days. How can a household of eleven have two more deaths than the number in the family? Two were bearers of gifts. Eleven was not a large enough number, two more had to be added. Out of these two, one was a worker for the family and the other was a distant relative who came to visit. They were additions to the eleven that made the total number of dead thirteen. When I was there, I took four young disciples with me. “We are going to go and rescue people!” How? I told them, “Let us recite the Great Compassion Mantra to duel the plague spirit.” We went to villages plagued by this epidemic and circled the place three times, reciting the Great Compassion Mantra. When we finished reciting Great Compassion Mantra, the epidemic vanished. So reciting the Great Compassion Mantra is very effective and wonderful.

Seventh, they will escape calamities involving fire and water. Recite Earth Store’s name, there will be no floods or fire, or they will not drown in water and not be burned by fire. They will naturally float to shallow spots and reach the shore when they fall into the sea; they will naturally be rescued when fire is closing in on them.

Eighth, they will never be threatened by thieves. Why are you robbed and stolen from? It is because you unreasonably took other people’s money for your own. You had lied in the past so you are robbed in this life. You have to pay your due. This is the reason why you are robbed and stolen from. All this is a result of cause and effect. There is nothing strange about it. If you really understand this, then you will see the cause and effect in any state and recognize this cyclic law.

Ninth, they will be respected by all who see them. Recite Guanshiyin Bodhisattva (also known as Guan Shi Yin, Kuan Shi Yin, Guan Yin, Kuan Yin) and Earth Store Bodhisattva’s names and pay respect to them; people will respect you and feel close to you. They feel as if they see relatives from long ago. They feel so close to you, as if they have come home. This is like being along overseas where you know no one. When you meet some old friends, you feel awkward. You do not know whether you are happy or sad, whether to smile or cry, Or you want to laugh and cry! You cry because you see someone dear to you. You laugh because you feel secure now.

People respect you at the sight of you. No one criticizes you or mistreats you. Do not say, “You know, I am an upasaka! You must respect me!” Or, “I am a Dharma Master, bow to me when you see me!” This is not about forcing others to respect you. The saying goes, “ Musk will naturally smell nice, why let the wind blow on it?” If you were really virtuous, do not act like some medicinal patches salesperson. “Oh, my medicinal patch is the best. Arthritis, rheumatism, numbness, just put on this patch and it will cure itself even if you do not put on the patch. Do not sell yourself, fearing that others will not know you. “Do you know who I am? I am the most powerful Buddhist Dharma Protector. I am a senior Dharma Protect at so and so temple. Also, I am the Board of Director of some charity organization. I am also the supporter of some place, etc., etc.” One introduces oneself because one is afraid that other people will not know. Stop, that is pretense and untrue. Advertise and sell yourself, then blind individuals will not know and be swindled by you; but people with eyes will see it right away, finding you pathetic.

Tenth, they will be aided by ghosts and spirits. If you have real merit, why publicize it for yourself? Ghosts, spirits, & Dharma protectors will help and support you. They will help you and resolve your difficulties from behind the scenes. No need to publicize. The tenth advantage is that all ghosts, good and bad, and all spirits, good and bad, will all help you. Evil spirits will also help you? Is this due to the power of Earth Store Bodhisattva? It is by the power of Earth Store Bodhisattva. All evil ghosts and spirits become Dharma protectors.

If I recite Earth Store King Bodhisattva, will he tell people to come and scold me? No. Why? To tell you the truth, you are not up the level yet! You have not even finished studying, how can you pass the test? You pass when you graduate from college. Why test you if you just entered college and have not even graduated? Do not think that scolding is bad. Scoldings are tests. If you can take it, you pass. If you pass, keep going forward and cultivate. Do you cultivate any more after you pass the test? Cultivate even more once you pass. If not, what is the use of passing the test? What is the use of studying to earn a Ph.D.? It is the same idea. If you understand, you understand; if you do not understand, there is nothing I can do.

Eleventh, women who want to, can be reborn as men. The eleventh advantage is that if you are tired of being a woman, by paying respects and making offerings, praising and reciting the Fundamental Vows of Earth Store Bodhisattva Sutra, or reciting and praising Earth Store Bodhisattva’s name, then you as a woman will turn into a man. Perhaps it is not because you are tired of being a woman that you wish to become a man. You feel that it is inconvenient being a woman and therefore wish to become a man. You make that kind of vow because everything will be convenient then. Earth Store Bodhisattva will make your wishes come true.

Twelfth, women who want to, can be reborn as daughters of national leaders and officials. Any wish to go from a woman to a man will be met. So will the wish to go from a man to a woman. Men may recite Earth Store Bodhisattva’s name, bow to an image of Earth Store Bodhisattva or recite the Fundamental Vows of Earth Store Bodhisattva Sutra to become a woman who teaches living beings. Women usually have less of a temper, are more detail-oriented and speak as if they have affinities with others. This is why some Bodhisattvas make the vow to go from being men to women. They go from being men to women to propagate the Buddhadharma and teach living beings. Consequently, these women are not average women, but daughters to kings and ministers. They enjoy a lot of power to influence people so that people may develop their faith and intention to cultivate. These women have been reborn again because of their vows.

Thirteenth, they will have upright appearances. The thirteenth advantage is not only about being women, but women who are intelligent and wise, nice looking without any flaws. The nose, eyes, ears and mouth all look the way they should. Someone asks, “Are there ears that do not look like ears. Are there eyes that do not look like eyes?” Some women have triangular eyes or strange looking eyes that look about as if they are ready to steal some cows. They do not look so elegant. They are rather crude, improper and less than perfect. The nose is on top of the head, with nostrils pointed upward. What do you think that is like? Some women have one eye up close to the sky and one eye close to the floor, ears on the back of her head, and a mouth on the chin. They do not look quite like people, not quite like ghosts, and not quite like monkeys. If they were a product of evolution, how is it that they do not look like anybody else but they are the only ones who look that way? This is an improper and imperfect look. If you wish to become women, your looks ought to be perfect and proper. If your features were proper-looking, people will feel a sense of affinity with you. If your features were improper, people take a look and run away as if they saw a yaksha.

Fourteenth, they will often be born in the heavens. The fourteenth advantage surpasses those described before. They are born in the heavens often to enjoy heavenly blessings and supremely wonderful bliss.

Fifteenth, they may be emperors or national leaders. The fifteenth is that they may become candidates for emperors by reciting the Earth Store Sutra, bow to Earth Store Bodhisattva, and recite Earth Store Bodhisattva’s name. This is an incredible advantage. “Dharma Master, I do not want to go to the heavens and be an emperor or be a good-looking individual. This Saha World is so miserable, I have had enough already.” You really had enough? There are other opportunities for realizing Buddhahood, the last enumerated advantage is to realize Buddhahood.

Sixteenth, they will have the wisdom to know past lives. They know what they did in their past lives. Perhaps they were political officials, scholars or business people. They know what their last names, first names were, their place of birth and age of death. Now they are in a new house, different from their earlier ones. Those with the power to know past lives know what occurred in their past lives.

Seventeenth, they will obtain whatever they seek. The 17th advantage is that you get what you want. You want riches and you get them. You want people, you get people. You want food, you get food. You want to be rich and you will own an uncountable amount of gold, silver and jewels. Just avoid following in the footsteps of Disatrers.Reza Shah Pahlavi [the Iranian czar], who earned so much money, none of which was enjoyed during his lifetime. He died empty-handed. How meaningless and worthless. Do not be misers.

Eighteenth, their families will be happy. The 18th advantage is that their family, relatives and friends around them are all happy, safe and at peace. People do not fight or argue. This creates happy families.

Sometimes a lot of afflictions develop in the family, between husband and wife, father and son, brothers and sisters, or in-laws. The most intimate relationship in our lives has to be that between parent and child. When their opinions diverge, the child may think: “Look, the old man’s brain is arcane; his knowledge is arcane; everything he does is arcane. He has not caught up with modern times and does not know how to deal with the contemporary world.” He feels that old people do present a problem. Elders are so concerned about their children that they forgive their children no matter what wrong they do.

The children, unfortunately, are ungrateful and consider the elders in the wrong. Why do you not educate your children well? It is because parents do not know how to teach their children. Consequently children do not know how to take care of their parents. Many problems remain unresolved between parents and their children. As for couples, before marriage, both wear a façade and do not argue or fight. After marriage, both display their temper. The man will let the woman know that he is upset and the woman will let the man know that she is upset. They give each other stress. With this 18 th advantage, your families and friends will always be happy if you get to see an image of Earth Store Bodhisattva or hear the name of Earth Store Bodhisattva.

Nineteenth, they will never undergo any disasters. All disasters and accidents, adverse and inauspicious events are unexpected disasters. Suicide by hanging, drowning at the sea, airplane crashes, car accidents, suicide by taking poisons are all unexpected deaths. When all accidents disappear, all disasters disappear. There will be no more hurt or harm.

Twentieth, they will leave the bad karmic paths forever. No more offense karma. The three evil destinies are the realms of hell-beings, hungry ghosts, and animals.

Twenty-first, they will always reach their destination. The 21st advantage is one where they go everywhere unobstructed and very smoothly. Things are auspicious and beneficial for them.

Twenty-second, their dreams will be peaceful and happy. The 22nd advantage. Unlike average people’s dreams some always have vicious nightmares. They experience nightmares where they are either chased by ghosts, bitten by dogs, or eaten by tigers. Sometimes they are pressed upon by ghosts and cannot move. They panic. Recite The Fundamental Vows of Earth Store Bodhisattva Sutra and Earth Store Bodhisattva’s name, your dreams will become happy and lucky.

Twenty-third, their deceased relatives will leave suffering behind. The 23rd advantage is that your parents, ancestors, and relatives since beginningless time, will leave suffering and attain bliss, become liberated from birth and death. Many deceased individuals fall into the hells because of their karma. However, because you see an image of Earth Store Bodhisattva or hear the name of Earth Store Bodhisattva, there are 28 advantages that make the deceased leave suffering behind and acquire bliss. The deceased of the present are our deceased parents and relatives in this life. They will leave suffering and attain bliss. The deceased of the past are all of our deceased parents and relatives throughout all of our lives will leave suffering and attain bliss.

Twenty-fourth, they will enjoy blessings earned in previous lives. You ride on the good roots and blessings from your past lives. Having done a lot of merit and planted deep roots of goodness, they enjoy such blessings of lives past. Why are we rich in this life? In past lives we made offerings to the Sangha and offered charity to the poor. In the past, we made offerings to the Triple Jewel, guarded Buddhism, and helped the poor. This is why we are rich in this lifetime. Why are we poor in this life, perhaps so impoverished that we have no clothing or food? In past lives we refused to help the poor. In lives past, we refused to aid the poor. We were very stingy and did not want to give up anything. If we were not so miserly before, but cultivated blessings and wisdom instead, then the blessings done in past lives may be enjoyed in this lifetime.

Twenty-fifth, they will be praised by sages. The 25th is that all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, sages, and arhats praise you and tell you that you are a good man or a good woman.

Twenty-sixth, they will be intelligent and have keen faculties. The 26th advantage is about being very smart and wise, having a powerful memory. The eyes are bright and they see far. The ears hear well. All six sense faculties are keen.

Twenty-seventh, they will be magnanimous and empathetic. The 27th is being full of sympathy and compassion toward everyone. Providing every individual with joy and relieving one of one’s pain. Regardless of how unkind people are, they treat others kindly and refuse to seek revenge.

Twenty-eighth, they will ultimately realize Buddhahood. What is the 28th advantage? This is the most critical advantage– to irreversibly enter the Bhodi path so that they will definitely become Buddhas in the future.

Chant – A – Mantra (13): For Proper Guidance For Big and Immediate Matters Chant the Alternative Mantra of Bodhisattva Vajrapani!

Namo Vajrapani Bodhisattva

Sometimes even when we have amulets we cannot just rely on our amulets to ‘do things for us’, there will be times when we have to make decisions. Things will not always be presented on a silver platter even if we have a powerful amulet like the Vajrapani Ruel.

For example, when we have to decide on what business project to take when we can only take one. If we are presented with two good things, it can be hard to decide on which on to take if we can have one only.

Chanting the alternative mantra of Vajrapani Bodhisattva for a full 10 malas (one mala is 108x) is a way to tap into the wisdom of Bodhisattva Vajrapani and use it to our advantage.

Admittedly, this will work faster and better if one has the Vajrapani Ruel, which is considered as one of the most powerful amulet in the Buddhist pantheon, but not all of us has the Vajrapani Ruel but that doesn’t’ mean we can’t chant this. It only means that we should be able to truly align ourselves with Vajrapani Bodhisattva, because constantly having the Vajrapani Ruel on our body or around us makes us naturally more attuned to the energies of Bodhisattva Vajrapani.

The alternative mantra of Bodhisattva Vajrapani is:

The Ten Realms of Existence in Buddhism (2): The Four Higher Realms

In the preceding first part of this post, I introduced to you the TEN REALMS OF EXISTENCE IN BUDDHISM and also talked about the SIX LOWER REALMS. Today, I would like to talk to you about the Higher Realms. We should all aspire to reach these realms, although the ultimate goal is that we enter the highest realm. Once one enter into these realms one will no longer go back to the lower realms but again the goal is to reach the highest realm. Once you entered this realm you are considered as enlightened, although not fully enlightened unless you reach the highest level, which is Buddhahood.

The 4 Higher Realms of Existence in Buddhism are the following:

  1. ARHAT. This is the first level of the higher realm. Simply put this is someone who by listening or reading and practicing the Buddha dharma, as extinguishes all defilements and has achieved nirvana. While it may be easier for the Asuras and the Deva (Heavenly Beings) to enter Arhatship, they are a lot of humans who has entered Arhatship also. This is especially true during the time of Sakyamuni Buddha. When an Arhat passes away, their body usually doesn’t decay in the way like most people do.
  2. PRATYEKABUDDHA. Is someone who entered nirvana and has ended samsara. But in Buddhism, there is a time that there will be no Buddha and no Dharma, but if one enters nirvana through meditation this person is considered as a Pratyekabuddha also.
  3. BODHISATTVA. The word is actually a combination of two words. First, Bodhi means awakened or to awaken to the truth. Sattva means sentient beings. In short it means an awakened sentient beings. During the time of Buddha Sakyamuni, it is extremely possible to become a ‘living’ Bodhisattva or to be a human Bodhisattva. To this day, the Dalai Lama and the Karmapa are considered as living Bodhisattva. A Bodhisattva is strongly characterized by their compassion, loving – kindness, wisdom, great vows, good deeds. A Bodhisattva also has tremendous power to help all sentient beings. Some of the most well known Bodhisattvas are Avalokitesvara (also known as Kuan Yin, Guan Yin, Kuan Shi Yin, Guan Shi Yin, Kannon), Ksitigarbha (also known as Earth Store, Di Zhang Wang) Samantabhadra (also known as Pu Xian), Manjushri (also known as Wun Shu Shi Li), Maitreya (also known as Mi Luo and colloquially called Happy Fat Buddha), Vajrapani (also known as Chin Kang Shou) and who is the Bodhisattva that controls or has power over the Vajrapani Ruel, Mahasthamaprapta (also known as Da Shi Zhi) and a lot more. In Zen Buddhism and Tibetan Buddhism, they acknowledge that some people although technically not a Bodhisattva and do not have supernatural powers and still has a body, do manifest the wonderful Bodhisattva traits. At this point, I’m reminded of my reader turned friend BM and Mother Teresa, now Saint Teresa. (Incidentally, a saint maybe equivalent to a Bodhisattva).
  4. BUDDHA / BUDDHAHOOD. This is the ultimate goal, and Siddharta Gautama achieved this in human form until he moved on to spiritual form. As a Buddha he is called Sakyamuni Buddha. A Buddha is some who has achieved perfect enlightenment, and one who is has perfect wisdom and perfect compassion. A Buddha is not a God. There are so many Buddhas that existed and still exist before Sakyamuni Buddha, and according to Buddha Sakyamuni the next Buddha is Maitreya Buddha .
