Myth Buster 45: Throwing Coins Creates Safe Travel!

Published Hulyo 7, 2017 by jptan2012

Recently, there was a news about a Chinese woman who delayed an airline flight by 5 hours because for good luck and safe trip she decided to throw coins into the propeller of the jet.

I was swamped with the question whether there is a basis for this.

This practice started hundred of years ago when the main mode of transportation to other places is by boat or ship. When they will a rough part of the sea, they will throw some offerings to the sea to help appease the gods or spirit of the sea. Later on throwing coins seems easier then people start to think that they should throw coins to deceive the spirit that these are ‘people’ since coins have images of heroes, they will then stop getting the spirit of those aboard the boat or ship.

I personally don’t know whether this has any basis. But I’m inclined to believe that this is not true. I have written about Feng Shui rituals for a safe trip before. But to make easier I simply bring my Vajrapani Ruel and my Kalachakra pendant with me. With that I’m assured of safe flight.

Citrus and Salt Solution for Cleansing of Negative Energies!

Published Hulyo 6, 2017 by jptan2012

The preceding post is about how to take away minor negative energies by simply putting some citrus fruit in one’s room for three days.

Today, allow me to share with you a simple and natural way to help take away negative energy. This is especially good if you’re going to a wake or to the hospital and you don’t have a Vajrapani Ruel and/or a Kalachakra pendant.

It’s pretty simple.

All you need is a small spray bottle. Fill it up, but not up to the rim, with water. Then place three drops of a citrus fruit juice. You can use either lemon, Philippine calamansi, lime, pomelo or even orange. But I prefer pomelo or even calamansi. Then get a pinch of rock salt or sea salt or Pink Himalayan Salt and put it inside the bottle with water. Shake it well until the salts are dissolved.

If you go to a wake or hospital or to the cemetery spray a little above your head when you leave. That should cleanse you from any negative energy that might have attached to yourself from the yin place that you just visited.

What’s nice with this is that you can share this solution with other people.

The citrus fruit juice will spoil, so what I do instead is add a little vodka to help preserved the juice. About 7 drops of vodka will do.

Cleanse Yourself From the Effects of the Harvest Moon (Post Mid – Autumn Festival) Eclipse Last Week!

Published Setyembre 19, 2016 by jptan2012

All eclipses are bad because it signifies the imbalance of Yin and Yang. All brightness whether it is from the sun or from the moon, which signifies Yang energy, is blocked out therefore bringing darkness, which signifies Yin Energy. So needless to say, all eclipses are bad.

Last week, while stuck in traffic, I wrote about the lunar eclipse happening on a Harvest Moon (Mid – Autumn Festival / Mooncake Festival). Because it was written in haste, I was not able to explain further the significance of Harvest Moon.

You can read my post about the eclipse entitled – TODAY’S LUNAR ECLIPSE AFFECTING THE HARVEST MOON SIGNIFIES DOUBLE BAD LUCK – by clicking here.

For the Chinese right after Mid – Autumn Festival is called Harvest Moon because the harvest season continues. This is one of the most celebrated events because it signifies ushering in of renewed good chi; especially we are coming from the previous month of negative chi because of the Hungry Ghost Month!

Because I was late in posting it, a lot of you might have read the post after you have been already exposed from the negative chi of the lunar eclipse, and naturally a lot of you emailed me and several of you who knows my mobile number sent a message and called frantic about being exposed to the effect of the lunar eclipse. And so I decided to write about how to cleanse yourself from the effects of the Harvest Moon Eclipse last week and move the original post for some other day.

If you have been exposed or if you are outdoor while the eclipse happened but wears the Vajrapani Ruel, Surangama Mantra Amulet, or a Kalachakra during or immediately after the exposure, then you need not worry, you should be fine. If until now you haven’t worn those amulets or you don’t have them I suggest you wear or carry the symbolic script of the immediate negative karma cleansing mantra OM AH HUM. (Please see photo)om-ah-hum

Also for the next 7 days put 2 tablespoon of rock salt or sea salt, or pink Himalayan salt on your tub and soak yourself in it for about 5 minutes, all the while chanting OM AH HUM HO HAM KSHAMALA VARAYA HUM PHAT. If you don’t have a bathtub, you can put it in a pail of water or in a basin then use that as your first wash. Chant OM AH HUM HO HAM KSHAMALA VARAYA HUM PHAT while dousing yourself with the water. If you use a shower, you can get two handful of salt and slowly rub it on your body before your final wash. While rubbing chant OM AH HUM HO HAM KSHAMALA VARAYA HUM PHAT and then let the salt stay your body for two minutes and chant the same mantra.

Let Us All Pray for Peace and Protection for the Philippines and Asia!

Published Hulyo 15, 2016 by jptan2012

The Philippines is currently in a very volatile situation, we just won the in the international court in The Hague, and while there is much reason to celebrate; the country was also put in a compromising situation. Why? Because China is a big bully and it is clear that they won’t honor the ruling and in fact has already called it null and void. The Philippines interim Department of Foreign Affairs secretary, Perfecto Yasay, who was involve in a controversy when he was still a SEC Chairman, has acknowledge this but unfortunately he has offered a less appealing ‘solution’ which earned him the ire of many Filipinos.

I will no longer go into the details of the matter. Simply Google it and you would know what is the case all about. Whether it is called South China Sea or West Philippine Sea, one thing is clear, the country is in a volatile situation at the moment. Worst situation is go into war, and while other countries has started to show their support by sending forces in the country, when China declares war with us and if with our without allies it is going to be a delicate and precarious situation with us.

It is because of this I strongly urge all my readers to please pray for the Philippines and the Southeast Asian countries. Please pray the following mantras everyday, 108 times a day each mantra, for the next 6 months:

  1. OM AMI DEWA HRIH
  2. OM MUNI MUNI MAHĀ MUNI YE SOHA
  3. TADYATHA OM BHEKANDZYE BHEKANDZYE MAHA BHEKANDZYE RADZA SAMUGATE SOHA
  4. OM MANI PADME HUM
  5. OM MAITRI MAHĀ MAITRI MAITREYA SOHA
  6. OM AH KSITIGARBHA THALENG HUM
  7. OM TARE TUTTARE TURE MAMA AYUR PUNYE JNANA PUSHTIM KURU SOHA
  8. OM VAJRAPANI HUM
  9. OM AH HUM HO HAM KSHAMALA VARAYA HUM PHAT
  10. TADYATHA OM ANALE ANALE KHASAME KHASAME BHAYRE BHAYRE SAUMA SAUME SARVA BUDDHA ADISHTANA ADISHTITE SOHA OM SARVA TATHAGATHA USHNISHA SITATAPUTRA HUM PHAT HUM MAMA HUM NI SOHA

Then you can recite the following sutras everyday also:

  1. The Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra
  2. The Diamond SutraEarth Store Bodhisattva Sutra
  3. The-Sutra-On-The-Original-Vows-And-Merits-Of-The-Medicine-Master-Lapis-Lazuli-Light-Tathagata or Medicine Sutra

Lastly, you can also offer oil, flowers, light (candle or synthetic), fruits and vegetables to images of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas for peace and protection.

Dedicate all the merits of these deeds to the protection of the Philippines and SEA and also for peace.

Furthermore, those who have the Vajrapani Ruel, which is regarded as the most powerful amulet in the Buddhist pantheon, or the Surangama Mantra Amulet can help by putting the Vajrapani Ruel on top of the Philippines in a printed map, and the Surangama (also spelled as Shurangama) Mantra Amulet at center of Asia.

Always Bring A Small Amount of Salt For Protection From Bad Luck!

Published Hunyo 22, 2016 by jptan2012

I always bring a small amount of salt with me. Why?

Regular readers of this blog would know that I’m a firm believer of the cleansing power of sea salt or rock salt and most especially Pink Himalayan Salt.

After more than 650 articles posted on this blog, I’m not sure whether I have written any article solely to talk about the wonderful Feng Shui and esoteric benefits of a sea salt, rock salt, and my favorite Pink Himalayan salt. But I’m sure that I have mentioned it several times on various articles.

himalayan_pink_salt

My favorite for Feng Shui purposes is the Pink Himalayan Salt

And so why do I always bring a small amount of salt? That is because it is a powerful, very affordable, natural and efficient way of protecting oneself, especially if one is experiencing a lot of negativities  or bad luck with his/her day or days. If there are a lot of negativities happening, you can simply sprinkle a small amount of salt around your area and it will sure help cleanse the surroundings and make the day better.

Back when I was still an employee, and one of my bosses was really ‘monstrous’ and is always throwing negativities on her employees. I would always sprinkle a small amount of salt after I had some discussions with her.

If someone throws you an evil eye, then sprinkle that salt and depending on the strength of the negative energy thrown you that energy may be deflected or tempered.

But perhaps one of the most wonderful protections that I experienced from about a teaspoon of rock salt that I experienced was when the company I used to work for had a biking event. This was several years back, more than 15 years ago. Some bikers will bike from Makati to Pampanga. This is basically a short distance from bikers. I tried to warn the organizers that the day they choose for the biking event is bad, but they don’t believe in Feng Shui. So they went ahead with the event. As usual, I have a small amount of salt with me. About a teaspoon. Let me clarify that I was with them to support the event. What happened was it seems like at every kilometer, somebody is into some kind of an accident. Until finally, one of the celebrity bikers who was with us had an accident just before we enter Bulacan. That’s when the head of the organizing team called me and asked whether I can do something. Well, I was not sure whether it would work, but I sprinkled the small amount of salt with me at the head of the “line”. It worked; we no longer had any accident.

So how do we bring the salt with us? Just put in a small plastic, or in a small plastic container and put it in your pocket or wallet. I make sure I change mine every 2 weeks.

5 Ways to Protect Yourself From Evil Eye and/or Witchcraft!

Published Hunyo 16, 2016 by jptan2012

“How do I protect myself from witchcraft or evil eye?”

I have been asked this question a lot. That if I were to charge ten Philippine peso per person every time I’m asked this question, I would have earned several thousands of peso by now.

In order to save time from answering this question, I thought I’d just write about it.

But before we talk about that, it begets the question as to evil eye or witchcraft is real?

If we were to base our answer on Buddhist Sutras and Taoist texts, the answer is definitely yes. In fact, one of the Shakyamuni Buddha’s disciple, Ananda, was bewitched by a witch so that he will break his vow of celibacy and sleep with her daughter who happens to be a hospitality girl. This is where the Surangama Mantra started, and it was followed by the Surangama Sutra.

Evil Eye is basically “usog” in Filipino. This happens when a person who has a strong neutral or bad chi looks at you and intentionally or unintentionally wish you bad thing, and that bad thing happens to you. Or when a person gives you that look and you start to get sick. This is quite common than we realize.

Witchcraft on the other hand is not very common. I believe that it still exist, however, it is not as common as most people think it is. Doing witchcraft is much more complicated and requires a lot of chi. however, contrary to popular belief, despite the negative connotation of the word; witchcraft does not necessary mean evil. There are positive witchcraft, it really depends on what energy you use. But for the purpose of this article, witchcraft here refers to something evil or bad.

Here are top 5 ways to protect yourself from evil eye or witchcraft:

STAY POSITIVE AND STAY GOOD. If we stay positive and if we stay good we only attract positive chi. this should help protect us from all those evil eyes or negative power of witchcraft.

WEAR AN AMETHYST OR CLEAR QUARTZ. Wearing these two crystals will provide us with a positive auric shield. However, this is only effective for evil eyes and light form of witchcraft. If you are attacked with something stronger then this definitely will not work.

TAKE A SALT BATH. If you suspect that you got the evil eye or witchcraft is being done to you. Take a salt bath, make sure you use rock salt, sea salt, pink Himalayan salt, or the rare black salt. Put approximately 1 tablespoon of the salt on a small pail of water and use this at the start before you shampoo or soap yourself. For a bathtub, use about a cup and soak in it for a minimum of 5 minutes. Do this for one to three days for evil eye. If you suspect witchcraft, do this for 7 to 21 days.

WEAR A POWERFUL AMULET. One of the best ways to protect you from evil eye and witchcraft is to wear some powerful amulet. My favorite is definitely the one that is regarded as the world’s most powerful amulet in the Buddhist pantheon called Vajrapani Ruel, but of course the Surangama Mantra Amulet blessed by a high ranking monk should work very well as well, the Illness Suppression Amulet is also a very good protective amulet for evil and witchcraft. The Jatukam Ramathep Amulet is also a very powerful amulet for this purpose.

CHANT PROTECTIVE MANTRAS IN A DEEP MEDITATIVE STATE. Chanting protective mantras in a deep meditative state, in a state that you are almost not aware of your surroundings is a very good protection against evil eye or witchcraft. The following mantras should prove helpful if chanted one after the other: (1.) OM AMI DEWA HRIH       (2.) NAMO SAPTANAM SAMYAKSAM BUDDHA KOTINAM TADYATHA OM CHALE CHULE CHUNDI SOHA       (3.) TADYATHA OM ANALE ANALE KHASAME KHASAME BHAYRE BHAYRE SAUMA SAUME SARVA BUDDHA ADISHTANA ADISHTITE SOHA OM SARVA TATHAGATHA USHNISHA SITATAPUTRA HUM PHAT HUM MAMA HUM NI SOHA.

Chant it 108x each mantra.

From Super Typhoon Hagupit to A Mere Tropical Depression: Proof that Prayers and Mantras Work

Published Disyembre 9, 2014 by jptan2012

hagupitSuper Typhoon Hagupit with local name Ruby was the year’s strongest typhoon anywhere on the planet. It is also the longest staying typhoon in the Philippines in the recorded history.
Right from the start, there has been several warning given by different weather forecasting bureau or agencies. The trajectory and the path vary, but they all agree on one thing, Hagupit is the year’s strongest typhoon of the world.
When it became apparent that Hagupit or Ruby as it is called here in the Philippines is not going to veer away from the Philippines, all the weather forecasting bureau sent out a warning that while it may not be as strong as Yolanda or Typhoon Haiyan, it definitely comes close to it and damage that it will bring is about is definitely going to be almost as bad.
This prompted the Catholic Church to issue to its followers to do an hourly Oratio Imperata (Prayer for Deliverance from Calamities), which was followed by some Buddhist temples to issue the required mantras and to conduct a 72 hours continues chanting of mantras and sutras.
The question is did these prayers and chanting of mantras and sutras worked? If you were to ask me, I think it’s a definite yes. One example is when they typhoon crossed the sea, it should definitely gain more strength, however, due to an unexpected cold front, it further weakened the typhoon. In fact, here in Manila, other than the cold weather and some rains, we hardly felt the typhoon. There is no denying that it still did wreak some havoc, however, the damaged would have been much worst if Hagupit / Ruby didn’t weaken. In fact, it significantly weaken that from Super Typhoon it became a Typhoon, to a Storm and then Tropical Depression.

Protecting Your Home’s Energy from the Negative Chi of a Police Station or Prison.

Published Nobyembre 28, 2013 by jptan2012

In my last post – LIVING NEAR THE POLICE STATION DOESN’T NECESSARILY MEAN YOUR SAFE! – I wrote about how living near a police station doesn’t necessarily mean you’re safer and that these places creates negative chi that may seep out and affect your house.police station2

But I always believe that knowing an ill effect of something is useless unless one can remedy it. This is the beauty of Feng Shui, it gives us tool to counter all these negative things that we can’t avoid.

Please note that ideally we won’t have to live near a police station or a prison. However, due to urbanization, a lot of us will inevitably be exposed to such areas. If this is truly unavoidable, I strongly suggest the following cures:

  1. Put a FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS AMULET or KALACHAKRA SYMBOL on your door or to the window nearest the police station.
I decided to put THE FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS inside a test tube type glass holder that I bought in The Bead Shop, then I included the incense ash, Pink Himalayan Salt inside before sealing it. Thank you to DU, a reader and friend who took this photo.

The Kalachakra symbol is one of the most powerful protection symbol in Buddhism. It actually consists of ten syllable mantra, with it symbolic script condensed into one. The mantra itself is HO HAM KSHAMALA VARAYA HUM PHAT. However, the mantra of the Kalachakra is never chanted without the mantra OM AH HUM. Making the complete mantra of Kalachakra - OM AH HUM HO HAM KSHAMALA VARAYA HUM PHAT. This is the reason why I decided to put the symbolic script of the mantra OM AH HUM on top of the Kalachakra symbol. As mentioned this is a very powerful protection symbol and can be likened to the Scapular of the Catholics. In fact, you'll seldom see a Tibetan Monk with wearing the symbol of the Kalachakra on their body. It may be hidden but most likely they have it somewhere on their body. But you'll never see them have the symbolic scripts tattooed because it is considered extremely bad luck to have a mantra tattooed on your body.

  2. People inside the house may also wish to wear a FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS AMULET or the WISH FULFILLING AND BUDDHA’S BLESSING MANTRA PENDANT, which has the image of the Kalachakra, Medicine Buddha and Kuan Kong, all three will provide protection from the negative chi sent out by the police station. Wearing the WEALTH AND MASTER PROTECTION PENDANT, which has the image of Sun Wukong is also very good, but the WEALTH AND MASTER PROTECTION PENDANT is even pricier than the WISH FULFILLING AND BUDDHA’S BLESSING MANTRA PENDANT. Nevertheless, a reader – friend who went to Bangkok was able to get a rare image of Sun Wukong as a Buddha. If you can get that kind of pendant it will also serve as a very good protection.

Jatukam Ramathep: Thailand’s Modern Powerful Amulet of Unknown Origin

Published Disyembre 30, 2012 by jptan2012

Several months ago, I wrote about Thailand’s Four Faced Buddha, which remains to be one of the most popular religious icons that the country has ever produced. That particular post remains to be one of the most well read post, it’s constantly in the top 12 post of my blog. I was not surprised how well you, the readers of this blog, received that particular post, it is because the 4-Faced Buddha is really one of the most popular spiritual icon because the 4-Faced Buddha is extremely powerful and swift in delivering his blessings. In fact, I received a lot of emails from people who have experienced the miraculous protection of the 4-Faced Buddha.

Today, allow me to introduce you to another very powerful religious or spiritual tool that came out in Thailand. I’m talking about the Jatukam Ramathep Amulets, sometimes simply called as Jatukam Amulets. Some people, especially Westerners, will sometimes spell it as Jatukarm (with an R), this is because that’s how it’s pronounce by Thais.

From my personal collection. This Jatukam Ramathep Amulet is from the 4th batch made at Wat Phra Mahathat Woromaha Vihan. This is the front side.

From my personal collection. This Jatukam Ramathep Amulet is from the 4th batch made at Wat Phra Mahathat Woromaha Vihan. This is the front side.

Jatukam Amulets became so famous that I’ve met a couple of Thais from Phuket and a Chinese Thai from that haven’t heard of Mario Mauer, a Thai famous actor, but who absolutely gets excited when I mentioned the Jatukam Amulet.

Jatukam Ramathep Amulets can be considered as Thailand’s modern powerful amulet of unknown origin because it is, I think, the only amulet that was discovered in modern times, also it is also a very powerful amulet as can be attested of those who has it, like me. But before that let me share with you story of where the amulet came from.

The truth is, there are a lot of different stories relating to the history of the Jatukam Ramathep Amulets. I will not dwell about the different stories, but instead allow me to share with you the most widely accepted story.

It is said that during the 800 AD, Asia experienced one of its greatest turbulent era. The King of Siam (modern day Thailand) has two royal sons who are very devoted to the throne and to Buddha. The princes’ names are Jatukam and Ramathep. Obviously, the amulets were named after them.

But before we go the story of the princes, it is important to share with you that their father is said to be a very powerful and noble king. The king is also a devoted Buddhist. Going to wars only when he really has to. It is in one of these wars that the King was able to get possession of some sacred relics of Siddhartha Buddha himself in Sri Lanka. He naturally brought the sacred relic to his kingdom and palace in Siam (Thailand). Because the sacred relic is so precious the king decided that he could only entrust it to his sons – Jatukam and Ramathep.

It is also said that a Buddhist monk tried to approach the King to tell him that he had a vision that the Buddha wants the sacred relic to be transported to a province in Northern Siam. However, palace guards prevented the monk from facing the king, thus he was unable to convey his vision.

After a few years, with the war in Asia further escalating, the King found himself travelling with some of his people to protect his kingdom. Unfortunately, Siam is losing the war, and enemies were conspiring to take the kingdom’s riches and also the Buddha relics ‘owned’ by the kingdom. To protect the relic of Siddhartha Buddha they decided to bring it back to Sri Lanka. The two princes unable to send word to their father the king decided to head to Sri Lanka by sea.

On their way to Sri Lanka, a wicked storm came and sunk their ship. Some say that all the people aboard the ship died except for the two princes, and some say all of them survived and wash ashore in a land of fertile soil. The place is now the present day Nakhon Si Thammarat (spelled as Nakhon Sri Thammarat).

According to the stories, the princes tired their best to continue their mission to move to Sri Lanka, however, for some weird reason, they were unable to move the case containing the relic. They took it as a sign that the relic wants to make Nakhon Si Thammarat as its home. Because of this the princes decided to make Nakhon Si Thammarat as their new home. They build Wat Phra Mahathat Woromaha Vihan, a Buddhist temple that still stands in Nakhon Sri Thammarat. To this day, you’ll still see the said temple, which has again become really famous because of the Jatukam amulets. Also, to this day, the Buddha relics that the two princes were trying to saved are still in that temple. Some say that the relic is a Tooth Relic.

However, for a very long the temple’s history is actually unknown, although there was some oral history handed down from one generation to the other. Until several years back when they were renovating the temple they chance upon the relic the princes’ bodies buried near where the relics is hidden.

After awhile, Thais immortalized the two princes and started praying to them as one, thus calling them Tao Jatukam Ramathep. It is said that praying to Tao Jatukam Ramathep will be blessed with a happy, well-balanced life, filled with wealth.

Several years back I was bless with the fortune to be able to visit the temple – Wat Phra Mahathat Woromaha Vihan. It’s located at Ratchadamnoen Road. At the entrance of the temple are statues of Tao Jatukam and Tao Ramathep, this is very symbolic of their mortal duties as the guardian of the Buddha relics housed within.

Note that the story just shared with you is the most widely accepted version of the history of the temple and of Jatukam Ramathep. The truth there are a lot more different versions, and nobody is unable to say which of the stories circulating are the most accurate version. However, what is certain is that it was a Thai policeman named Khun Phantharak Rajjadej a devotee of Tao Jatukam and Tao Ramathep, who first commissioned the monks of the temple to make him a Jatukam Ramathep amulet. This was in 1987 and no known Jatukam Ramathep amulets existed before that.

Khun Phantharak Rajjadej believes that it is Tao Jatukam and Tao Ramathep who helps him solves his difficult murder cases. Again, Khun Phantharak Rajjadej left not written record, but according to his family, one time in an official police operation, a friend and colleague of Khun Phantharak Rajjadej was shot and died. Fearing more for his family than for himself, he begged Tao Jatukam and Tao Ramathep to always protect him and to continuously provide for his family, because his meager salary as a police is not enough.

This is the back side of my Jatukam Ramathep Amulet.

This is the back side of my Jatukam Ramathep Amulet.

Again, there are two versions of how he came up with the Jatukam Ramathep amulets. One version is that after praying to Tao Jatukam and Tao Ramathep, he was paid a visit by the two guardian princes in his dream, there he was told to convince the Buddhist monks of Wat Phra Mahathat Woromaha Vihan to make an amulet for him. It was said that it was Tao Jatukam and Tao Ramathep who told him the basic manner of making the amulet, which he needs to convey to the Buddhist monks. The other version is that after praying to the princes, he was approached by a woman who has no knowledge of what he prayed for but told him that she had a vision from Tao Jatukam and Tao Ramathep, to tell him to convince the monks to make an amulet.

The two versions state that it was Tao Jatukam and Tao Ramathep themselves through the dream or the vision who gave Khun Phantharak Rajjadej the ‘ingredients’ and the procedures of doing the amulet.

The ingredients of the amulet are quite simple, because all they need is some incense ash from the temple, soil, and a very small splinter of wood from the old doors or roofs of the temple.

The design is also quite simple because it is said that Tao Jatukam and Tao Ramathep has provided this through the dream or vision. What’s difficult is the process of making it, because the Buddhist monks will have to do empowering meditation for one lunar cycle and then they will have to travel to the mountain, and the sea, face EAST, WEST, NORTH, SOUTH to make a special prayer in each of the direction before the amulet is fully empowered and effective.

Well, did the amulet for Khun Phantharak Rajjadej? To answer that question, allow me to share with you that after he got hold of the amulet, it is said that he never had an unsolved case. Furthermore, he and his family were all blessed with material wealth and long life. Khun Phantharak Rajjadej himself died at the age of 108 and has the position of a Major General. He also became so loved and respected for his selfless acts to protect the public that he was given a Royal Cremation ceremony where more than 250,000 people attended. Also in attendance are several government officials, businessmen, and celebrities. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn presided over the ceremony, which is under the patronage of the Thai King and Queen.

Major General Khun Phantharak Rajjadej.

By that time, the amulet has already gained some popularity, but it was the Thai King himself, King Bhumibol Adulyadej who furthered made the amulet really famous. King Bhumibol Adulyadej got really ill and was rumored to be on his death bed. The rumor was not surprising because it was the first time that he was confined in the hospital for long period of time and it was also the first time that several members of the Thai royal family had to cancel several official engagement to be with the king. However, after a few weeks the king was discharged from the hospital and he was seen, videoed and photographed to be wearing one of the original Jatukam Ramathep Amulets, it is from the batch that was commissioned by Khun Phantharak Rajjadej.

The image of the Thai king leaving the hospital wearing a Jatukam Ramathep Amulet further soared its popularity, and a businessman who said to have been blessed by the first batch of the Jatukam Ramathep amulet again commissioned the temple to make another batch of Jatukam Ramathep amulets to be given out for a minimal fee. On the day of its release, a lot of people flock to Wat Phra Mahathat Woromaha Vihan to get an amulet. The crowd became so unruly that a woman died during a stampede. Because of this incident the Buddhist monks threatened that they will hold off the releasing of the amulet and that they will no longer make any Jatukam Ramathep amulet.

For a while, they did what they said, and it was after a few more years when they started making another batch of Jatukam Ramathep amulet. Because of this, prices of the existing first 2 batches of Jatukam Ramathep went really high. In fact, a Jatukam Ramathep from the original batch that was commissioned by Khun Phantharak Rajjadej now costs about US$ 300,000.00 and somebody bought it!!!

I was fortunate enough to be able to get a Jatukam Ramathep amulet from the 4th batch that was made by the Buddhist monks of Wat Phra Mahathat Woromaha Vihan. This is a prized possession because the truth is they can only make Jatukam Ramathep amulets by batches, once, at most, twice a year.

There are a lot of wonderful and magical stories about the Jatukam Ramathep amulets, and all you need is to Google it to read about them. However, I have personally heard from people who has directly benefitted from the Jatukam Ramathep Amulets that is why I decided to get one for myself to try it out. This was before I became a believer.

When I first had my Jatukam Ramathep amulet, I immediately felt its power. The feeling is very subtle and quite difficult to explain but more than that I also noticed that everything seems to be going smoothly. I have already been practicing Feng Shui and have been enjoying its good effect when I had my Jatukam amulets, so there is really no astounding personal story that I can share with you. However, whenever I’m running into an extremely bad month or year or week as indicated by my Flying Stars, I always wear it and everything seems to go really smoother.

Nevertheless, allow me to share with you the story of a friend who also got a Jatukam Ramathep amulet from the 7th batch that was made. He was experiencing a particularly difficult year. I think it was karmic because no Feng Shui cure seems to work. His marriage was going through a really bad time and he got separated from his wife and his 2 children. Business is also really bad and he is about to declare himself bankrupt! Out of desperation, he requested me to acquire for him a Jatukam Ramathep amulet. We both travelled to Thailand to get his Jatukam Ramathep amulet.

When we got back home 2 days after he got his Jatukam Ramathep, his brother called him to inform him that he was able to get him an investor who can help him get out of financial rut. This is something that he is looking for but a lot of people think that his business is too far-gone that nobody wants to gamble on a losing business. Furthermore, he was able to make peace with his wife and they started living together again, it happened a month after he got his Jatukam Ramathep amulet.

Another story that I would like to share is from a Malaysian businesswoman, who said that 3 days after wearing her Jatukam Ramathep amulet, she went to buy a lottery ticket. Guess what? She won!!!

Stories like these…testimonials like these are what make the Jatukam Ramathep amulet really famous. In fact, they are so famous that it is now a 20 Million Baht ‘industry’. Unfortunately, a lot of these are Jatukam Ramathep amulets that have the same designed but are no longer made in Wat Phra Mahathat Woromaha Vihan, and they don’t go through the empowering meditation and the mountain, sea, east, west, north, and south special empowering prayer. I know I might get into trouble by saying this, but for me, I think unless a Jatukam Ramathep amulet is not made in Wat Phra Mahathat Woromaha Vihan, then it is considered fake.

Remember, some of the main ingredients of the Jatukam Ramathep as instructed by Tao Jatukam and Tao Ramathep is for it to have incense, soil, and a splinter from the old door or ceiling of the temple. The main ingredients, not to mention the empowering prayers done, are what make Jatukam Ramathep amulets powerful.

In fact, the first and second batch of the Jatukam Ramathep amulets are made purely of hardened soil and clay, and they are considered to be truly potent that just merely holding them can fulfill our wishes. However, because it doesn’t have a plastic casing they easily break also and a lot of the original Jatukam Ramathep amulets no longer exist.

If you plan to get yourself a Jatukam Ramathep amulet, please make sure that it is made by the Buddhist monks, with the ingredients from Wat Phra Mahathat Woromaha Vihan. There are a lot of Jatukam online, and in the malls in Bangkok, most of them are not real Jatukam!!!! Most Jatukams are quite expensive and this is because it is really hard to make them and it takes money to make them, especially, the newer version of Jatukam Ramathep amulets is also partly made of bronze, or silver, or gold. The money goes to the restoration and maintenance of Wat Phra Mahathat Woromaha Vihan.

Now, is also the best time to get your Jatukam Ramathep amulets, because Wat Phra Mahathat Woromaha Vihan monks have just released the batch 14 of Jatukam Ramathep amulets. This is also one of the reasons why I’m going to Thailand on the 16th of January. I’m going there with some friends to get some Jatukam Amulets from batch 14. Personally, I’m getting more of the Jatukam Ramathep amulets for my nephews who still don’t have one!

BLOGGER’S NOTE ADDED DEC. 30, 2012 AT 19:45: It’s been only nineteen hours ago when I posted this ‘article’ about the powerful Jatukam Ramathep amulet and I already got a total of 17 email asking whether I can help them get the Jatukam Ramuthep in my upcoming trip to Thailand. I urge you to make that trip yourself, but make it soon because the latest batch is selling really fast. But to answer the question whether I can help get them the amulet, the answer is Yes. You can email me directly at sanaakosirickylee@gmail.com.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ADDED JANUARY 3, 2012 22:45: I decided to include this FAQ because I’ve been receiving a lot of questions through email about the Jatukam Ramathep Amulet.

Q1: Do we need to have the amulet blessed or cleansed from time-to-time or after wearing for a long time? The answer is NO. The only who can bless the amulet is the Buddhist monks who made them. Actual blessing of the pendant is done through an empowering meditation and special prayer done in the mountain and the sea, and facing East, West, North, and South. However, if people touches your pendant, it might be a good idea to let it pass over an incense smoke.

Q2: Is there a special mantra for the Jatukam Ramathep amulet? The answer is NO. Just wear it and it will start working for you.

Q3: Can the Jatukam Ramathep amulet be shared from one member of the family to another? This is not a very ideal thing to do. However, since the amulet is quite pricey, this may be an alternative. A family member who may be experiencing a spade of bad luck can wear it.

Q4: Are the Jatukam amulets available online real? My answer to this particular question is ‘I don’t know’. You will have to check whether they are really a reputable supplier. As mentioned in the article, there are a lot of other Buddhist temples, and, unfortunately, even ‘businessmen’ who started making their own Jatukam Ramathep amulet. Remember, if it didn’t come from Wat Phra Mahathat Woromaha Vihan, and was not made by the monks from that temple, and if doesn’t have the material from the said temple, then it is not a real Jatukam Ramathep amulet. It needs to have all the component to make it a real Jatukam Ramathep amulet. When buying online, I suggest you do the following: 1. CHECK THE CREDIBILITY OF THE ONLINE STORE. 2. CHECK WHAT BATCH OF JATUKAM ARE THEY SELLING. Note that Jatukam amulets are in high demand, the truth is there is no longer single Jatukam Ramathep amulet available in the market from the last batch (before this latest one recently released) that was made. If it’s an original Jatukam Ramathep ask them from what batch it belongs and ask how were they able to ‘hoard’ and not sell it right away. 3. PRICE IS ALSO A FACTOR. Unfortunately, because of the tedious process, and some of the precious materials used in doing the Jatukam Ramathep it is usually very expensive. The one’s I’m getting from this last batch is quite pricey. It’s THB 11,200.00.

Q5. Is there any special way of wearing the amulet? Unlike other amulets or talismans, the amulet is usually worn outside the shirt. Meaning it is usually worn exposed. However, I personally wear it hidden under my shirt.

Curing a Feng Shui Blunder Caused by a Leisure Tour

Published Marso 30, 2012 by jptan2012

In my last post before I went on a blog rest I talked about a Feng Shui blunder caused by our excitement while we’re on a vacation or a leisure trip or tour. I shared with you the bad luck that my friends and I experienced because of our innocent trip to the Ming Tombs. I also shared the story of a former officemate who went to Egypt entered a pyramid and had a series of bad luck.

I received some email inquiring what are the Feng Shui, Buddhist and/or Taoist amulets that one need to protect oneself from the negative effects of a Yin dominant place like cemeteries, tombs, morgues. I debated whether to share those amulets here because as I mentioned at the end of the post, it is better not to tempt fate and just completely avoid these Yin dominant tourist spots. While I’ll most likely share the said amulets in a future post, because a hospital is also a Yin dominant place, I believe for now it is important that everyone understands that amulets may help but nobody can tell whether it would be enough so again – IT IS BETTER NOT TO TEMPT FATE AND JUST AVOID ENTERING YIN DOMINANT PLACES. You can just simply admire it from the outside.

Having said that I would like to share with you how to cure should you accidentally enter a Yin dominant place while you’re on a trip.

First thing you can do is to go a restaurant before you go back to your hotel. Ask for a rock or sea salt. Put some on your head and throw some on your back before you go back to your hotel.

When you get back to your hotel, ask for a sea or rock salt and take a salt bath. A cup of salt in a bathtub will do. Just soak yourself for about 5 minutes. More if you want to relax, but 5 minutes is the minimum amount of time. If possible light some candle and place it beside you while you’re in the tub. Use red, yellow, orange, or pink candle. Don’t use white.

Before going to sleep recite one full mala (108 times) of the Mantra of the Medicine Buddha – TADYATHA OM BHEKANDZYE BHEKANDZYE MAHA BHEKANDZYE BHEKANDZYE RADZA SAMUGATE SOHA. If you want to know more about the Medicine Buddha do read my post entitled – MEDICINE BUDDHA: A HEALER, PROVIDER, AND PROTECTOR OF BOTH THE PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL REALM.

If possible, try to go out and have some small party with your tour group.

Also, on the particular day that you made a Feng Shui blunder of entering a Yin dominant place, do sleep with the lights on that particular night.

Signs or Omens of a Bad Travel Luck

Published Marso 14, 2012 by jptan2012

It’s summer once again here in the Philippines and it’s vacation time for most of us, this means a lot of us will be traveling again, either by plane, ship or car. Boracay, Panglao, Palawan, Puerto Galera are some of the tourist spots here in the Philippines that’s going to be swarmed with local tourists. Flights to Caticlan and Bohol are again to be full, and the roads to Batangas is again going to be congested. Not to mention, Baguio is going to be crowded! Tagaytay is again going to experience power shortages because the number of tourists who flocks there every summer is so many that they are unable to continuously provide the high electricity consumption brought out be vacationers.

It’s easy to get really excited to travel, but you should be careful, because every year we hear about stories that what was supposedly fun vacation became horror or sad stories. Usually, if we just pay attention to what’s happening we are actually given some signs of danger.

I’ve been lucky enough to be able to travel a lot, either for business or leisure, and because of that I always make sure that I watch out for ‘signs’ that a specific trip may be affected by bad energy. I started paying more attention to these signs or omens because the last time I ignored a sign my father had a major stroke and passed away in China.

A month or two before my parent’s annual trip to China, my father’s passport went missing. They looked for it everywhere but it proved to be futile and they never found it, they had to rush a new passport for him. When my father got his new passport, my mother then lost her passport. However, this time they found it soon after. By this time, I already told my mom that maybe they shouldn’t push through with the trip because it seems like a sign that they shouldn’t be taking this trip. They’ve never lost their passports and for two passports to go missing seems like to be a sure sign.

When they got their passport, my parents went to get their visas. However, they had encountered another problem. I again reiterated my thought that maybe they shouldn’t push through with the trip. My mother was already having second thoughts, but this is their annual trip to China, and more than leisure it’s a pilgrimage to the biggest Kuan Yin in the world.

Although familiar with Feng Shui, I hadn’t really taken up any formal training then, also I’m not yet familiar with the different Taoist and Buddhist oracles at that time. My mom then decided to consult a Taoist priest who supposedly can go into trance and channel the spirit of a Taoist deity. The response of this Taoist priest is that it’s safe for my parents to take the trip.

My father had a stroke and died in China in that trip. Because of this I always make sure that I shall never ignore a bad travel luck sign or omen.

If you’re going on a trip, do make sure that you don’t ignore these omens or signs that you might have bad travel luck. The following are just some of the signs but please note that this is not complete and omens may vary from one person to another, but these are some of the most common signs.

First: Missing Essential Travel Paraphernalia

If you’re missing essential travel paraphernalia such as your passport, a visa application form, or your travel bag, it may be a sign that you shouldn’t be making that trip. If possible, postpone that trip, if not, go to a temple or a church and ask for protection. On the day of your trip wear a Sun Wukong and/or a Kalachakra Pendant.

Second: Running Into a Limping Dog or a Limping Cat

Running into a limping dog or cat on your way to the airport is a sure sign that something bad might happen when you arrive in your point of destination. . It is better to cancel the trip or postpone it. If you’re unable to cancel it get a rock or sea salt and throw it behind your back. The act of throwing the salt behind you creates a celestial barrier between you and the bad luck. Carry a small pack sea or rock salt with you the entire duration of the trip.

Third: Dreaming of a Monster, Bad Spirits, Wild and/or Fierce Animal

If you dream of a monster, bad spirit or spirits, and/or scary fierce wild animals a few days or on the eve of the trip, you have to cancel your trip. It’s a sure sign that something bad will happen. In fact, it may even cause death.

When I was about eight years old, I lost a cousin because his brother and parents ignored this warning. Before I move forward with the story, I just want to clarify; that what happened is n one’s fault. They simply don’t know how to interpret a warning.

Anyway, my cousins and their parents were invited by a business partner to go to their rest house for a short vacation. On the eve of their trip, the eldest son, F, dreamed of a beautiful spirit woman chasing him. She wants F to go with him. Still within the dream, F refused to go with the spirit woman. This angered the spirit woman and said if he refused to go with her, she’ll just ask one of F’s siblings to join her.

The following day, R, one of F’s brothers shared with one of their sister that he dreamt of a beautiful but bad spirit woman riding with them in the car. This really didn’t bother R and the sister. However, when it was time to leave, R, fell from a short flight of stairs, and had a very minor injury. Nothing that can’t be treated with your ordinary home antiseptic, however, R felt uncomfortable and decided not to join them. However, their mom got angry and said it’s embarrassing if he won’t be joining them because their business partner is expecting the whole family to go.

Her mom won the argument and everybody went to the vacation as planned. That same afternoon they had a dipped in the swimming pool of the business partner’s pool. The deepest part of the swimming pool is 5 feet deep, and R, who was 19 at that time, was around 5’5. My aunt and uncle, their business partner, the children of their business partner, my cousins, some of their maids, the family drivers of both family who were tasked to look after the swimming ‘children’ are all either in the pool or around the pool area. R, who knows how to swim, drowned and nobody noticed him. No cry for help, no struggle. He drowned at the middle part of the pool, which is about 4.5 feet deep.

They don’t know what happened. They don’t understand why nobody noticed him, because all in all they were about 20 of them in the pool or in the area around the pool!

When his parents consulted a Taoist priest about the incident, they were told that a spirit caused the accident. This is when F remembered his dream and the sister remembered what R told her.

If you happen to have a similar dream, even if it’s not as vivid as that of my cousin’s, I suggest you cancel your trip. If this is not possible do go to a church or a temple. You can also wear a Sun Wukong or A Chung Kwei (also spelled as Chong Kwei or Zhung Kwei). More about Chung Kwei on my future post. A Kalachakra Pendant will also help.

Fourth: A Minor Car Accident, a Flat Tire, and a Funeral

If on your way to the airport or to your destination, and if you had a minor accident, a flat tire, or you run into a funeral procession, that simply means that you have to be careful when you arrived in your destination. The minor accident, the flat tire, or the funeral only means that whatever danger or bad luck has been averted already, so do drop a small amount of money on the road.  This is like paying back the good luck that you just got from the aborted bad luck. To understand these further do read my previous blog about funerals. Nevertheless, it still pays to be very careful.
