Always Bring A Small Amount of Salt For Protection From Bad Luck!

Published Hunyo 22, 2016 by jptan2012

I always bring a small amount of salt with me. Why?

Regular readers of this blog would know that I’m a firm believer of the cleansing power of sea salt or rock salt and most especially Pink Himalayan Salt.

After more than 650 articles posted on this blog, I’m not sure whether I have written any article solely to talk about the wonderful Feng Shui and esoteric benefits of a sea salt, rock salt, and my favorite Pink Himalayan salt. But I’m sure that I have mentioned it several times on various articles.

himalayan_pink_salt

My favorite for Feng Shui purposes is the Pink Himalayan Salt

And so why do I always bring a small amount of salt? That is because it is a powerful, very affordable, natural and efficient way of protecting oneself, especially if one is experiencing a lot of negativities  or bad luck with his/her day or days. If there are a lot of negativities happening, you can simply sprinkle a small amount of salt around your area and it will sure help cleanse the surroundings and make the day better.

Back when I was still an employee, and one of my bosses was really ‘monstrous’ and is always throwing negativities on her employees. I would always sprinkle a small amount of salt after I had some discussions with her.

If someone throws you an evil eye, then sprinkle that salt and depending on the strength of the negative energy thrown you that energy may be deflected or tempered.

But perhaps one of the most wonderful protections that I experienced from about a teaspoon of rock salt that I experienced was when the company I used to work for had a biking event. This was several years back, more than 15 years ago. Some bikers will bike from Makati to Pampanga. This is basically a short distance from bikers. I tried to warn the organizers that the day they choose for the biking event is bad, but they don’t believe in Feng Shui. So they went ahead with the event. As usual, I have a small amount of salt with me. About a teaspoon. Let me clarify that I was with them to support the event. What happened was it seems like at every kilometer, somebody is into some kind of an accident. Until finally, one of the celebrity bikers who was with us had an accident just before we enter Bulacan. That’s when the head of the organizing team called me and asked whether I can do something. Well, I was not sure whether it would work, but I sprinkled the small amount of salt with me at the head of the “line”. It worked; we no longer had any accident.

So how do we bring the salt with us? Just put in a small plastic, or in a small plastic container and put it in your pocket or wallet. I make sure I change mine every 2 weeks.

5 Ways to Protect Yourself From Evil Eye and/or Witchcraft!

Published Hunyo 16, 2016 by jptan2012

“How do I protect myself from witchcraft or evil eye?”

I have been asked this question a lot. That if I were to charge ten Philippine peso per person every time I’m asked this question, I would have earned several thousands of peso by now.

In order to save time from answering this question, I thought I’d just write about it.

But before we talk about that, it begets the question as to evil eye or witchcraft is real?

If we were to base our answer on Buddhist Sutras and Taoist texts, the answer is definitely yes. In fact, one of the Shakyamuni Buddha’s disciple, Ananda, was bewitched by a witch so that he will break his vow of celibacy and sleep with her daughter who happens to be a hospitality girl. This is where the Surangama Mantra started, and it was followed by the Surangama Sutra.

Evil Eye is basically “usog” in Filipino. This happens when a person who has a strong neutral or bad chi looks at you and intentionally or unintentionally wish you bad thing, and that bad thing happens to you. Or when a person gives you that look and you start to get sick. This is quite common than we realize.

Witchcraft on the other hand is not very common. I believe that it still exist, however, it is not as common as most people think it is. Doing witchcraft is much more complicated and requires a lot of chi. however, contrary to popular belief, despite the negative connotation of the word; witchcraft does not necessary mean evil. There are positive witchcraft, it really depends on what energy you use. But for the purpose of this article, witchcraft here refers to something evil or bad.

Here are top 5 ways to protect yourself from evil eye or witchcraft:

STAY POSITIVE AND STAY GOOD. If we stay positive and if we stay good we only attract positive chi. this should help protect us from all those evil eyes or negative power of witchcraft.

WEAR AN AMETHYST OR CLEAR QUARTZ. Wearing these two crystals will provide us with a positive auric shield. However, this is only effective for evil eyes and light form of witchcraft. If you are attacked with something stronger then this definitely will not work.

TAKE A SALT BATH. If you suspect that you got the evil eye or witchcraft is being done to you. Take a salt bath, make sure you use rock salt, sea salt, pink Himalayan salt, or the rare black salt. Put approximately 1 tablespoon of the salt on a small pail of water and use this at the start before you shampoo or soap yourself. For a bathtub, use about a cup and soak in it for a minimum of 5 minutes. Do this for one to three days for evil eye. If you suspect witchcraft, do this for 7 to 21 days.

WEAR A POWERFUL AMULET. One of the best ways to protect you from evil eye and witchcraft is to wear some powerful amulet. My favorite is definitely the one that is regarded as the world’s most powerful amulet in the Buddhist pantheon called Vajrapani Ruel, but of course the Surangama Mantra Amulet blessed by a high ranking monk should work very well as well, the Illness Suppression Amulet is also a very good protective amulet for evil and witchcraft. The Jatukam Ramathep Amulet is also a very powerful amulet for this purpose.

CHANT PROTECTIVE MANTRAS IN A DEEP MEDITATIVE STATE. Chanting protective mantras in a deep meditative state, in a state that you are almost not aware of your surroundings is a very good protection against evil eye or witchcraft. The following mantras should prove helpful if chanted one after the other: (1.) OM AMI DEWA HRIH       (2.) NAMO SAPTANAM SAMYAKSAM BUDDHA KOTINAM TADYATHA OM CHALE CHULE CHUNDI SOHA       (3.) TADYATHA OM ANALE ANALE KHASAME KHASAME BHAYRE BHAYRE SAUMA SAUME SARVA BUDDHA ADISHTANA ADISHTITE SOHA OM SARVA TATHAGATHA USHNISHA SITATAPUTRA HUM PHAT HUM MAMA HUM NI SOHA.

Chant it 108x each mantra.

What to Do If You Absolutely Have to Had A Medical Procedure this Hungry Ghost Month?

Published Agosto 19, 2015 by jptan2012

medical procedureSometimes medical procedure is an avoidable happening. There are times that one can’t avoid a medical procedure because delaying it might cause more physical harm. So what does one have to do if there is an avoidable medical procedure that one has to go through this Hungry Ghost Month?

If it’s a minor medical procedure, you can light incense on your altar or go to a temple to do this and say a short prayer for all the Hungry Ghosts followed by a short prayer of protection. Make sure you have a Chung Kwei, a Vajrapani Ruel or a Surangama Mantra Amulet. Then while they’re doing the procedure, quietly chant either the Kalachakra Manta (OM AH HUM KSHAMALA VARAYA HUM PHAT) or the mantra of Vajrapani Bodhisattva (OM VAJRAPANI HUM). Just continue to chant it until the procedure is over.

This is a rare black jade pendant image of Chung Kwei. Was fortunate enough to find one in Beijing, China in a small shop. Remember in choosing a Chong Kwei or Chung Kwei or Zhung Kwei or Zhong Kwei, always get a something that's made of a black stone or gold. Otherwise, it might not be very effective.

For major medical procedure, I suggest go to a Buddhist temple and request them to do an Ullambana Ceremony (will discuss about this more on my succeeding posts), or request a Feng Shui practitioner who is familiar with the Ullambana Sutra to do it for you. Both will require some ‘fees’ because there are items that need to be bought for the said ceremony. The one done in a Buddhist temple is preferred but one that is done by a Buddhist Feng Shui practitioner will be effective as well, as long as he or she is familiar with the Ullambana Sutra and ceremony. Dedicate the ceremony to the ‘spiritual land lords’ of the hospital where the medical procedure is going to take place. On the day of the medical procedure, light some incense, and when you reach the hospital, discreetly scatter some rock salt or sea salt or pink Himalayan salt. Doctors or hospitals will not allow you to have any amulet on your body, so I suggest that you talk to your doctor beforehand and request that a Vajrapani Ruel or a Surangama Mantra Amulet be put at the door of the operating room, as the case may be. If you talk to them and tell them it is because of your religious belief that you are doing this, they will agree to do it. If not, ask a relative or a friend to carry it for you, and he should be as near as possible where the actual procedure is happening.Surangama Mantra

The Vajrapani Ruel looks simple, maybe even rustic, but this simple amulet is packed with a special talisman paper inside, with various ingredients, which includes Namtso Salt, soil, various herbs and plants, crystal, and a relic from a high lama. It's important to put the ruel inside a amulet holder or something sturdy as to not ruin it. If the cloth had tear which exposes or spill the ingredients inside, the ruel becomes useless.

Note that for this, I prefer that you use the Vajrapani Ruel or the Surangama Mantra Amulet, because both amulets provide a larger protective aura.

But again postpone any medical procedure this Hungry Ghost Month if you can.

Myth Buster 31: Putting Salt Inside or Around the House During Hungry Ghost Month Will Create Bad Luck!

Published Agosto 15, 2015 by jptan2012

SaltsThere is a pervasive belief amongst newbie Feng Shui practitioner and even some Feng Shui ‘experts’ that putting salt inside or around the house, even outside the house during Hungry Ghost month will bring bad luck because you will anger the Hungry Ghost. Is there truth to this? The answer is Yes!

Putting salt inside or around your house during hungry ghost month will bring bad luck because this might anger the Hungry Ghosts if not done properly. However, if done properly this will surely protect your house and yourself from feeling some of the negative effects of the Hungry Ghost month.

Simply putting salt without proper ritual will definitely anger the Hungry Ghosts and you or the occupants of the house might be subjected to their attack. Remember, most of us can’t talk to these spirits, so what we do our actions are sort of our communication with them, putting salt inside our outside around the house is like saying to the Hungry Ghost, “You are negative energies and I don’t like you here so I’m driving you away!” It will then become a battle of who is stronger. Your house might be protected with a lot of charms and amulets but it is not good to challenge them.

So we shouldn’t put salt inside or around the house during the Ghost Month? Not putting these protective tools like rock salt or sea salt or Pink Himalayan Salt is like opening your house to bad people or robbers that might cause harm to you.

The key here is to do it properly.

You should do the rituals discussed in my post called – RITUALS TO APPEASE AND PROTECT ONESELF FROM THE HUNGRY GHOSTS. Take note of the special offering of food to the hungry ghosts, then that’s when you put the rock salt or sea salt. By doing this, in effect, what you are telling the Hungry Ghosts is that “I know you are hungry that’s why I’m feeding you. I know about your existence and your needs, but you are only welcome up to a certain point and I can protect my house and myself from you.” By properly doing it, you will send a message to the Hungry Ghosts that you know what you are doing and they wouldn’t dare attack you. It is also good to keep yourself really protected by putting some special amulets that works for this season, which is wearing an image of Chung Kwei, that is made of a real black stone like onyx or tourmaline or jade (although a black jade can be quite rare), or Vajrapani Ruel or Surangama Mantra Amulet. Each member of the family having this protective cure is the most ideal situation, if not, you can hang one near your door.

What To Do When You Absolutely Had to Leave A House Empty for A Long Period of Time?

Published Abril 23, 2015 by jptan2012

I believe I have written a similar post before, but today, I would like to add a few more tips on what you should do if you have to leave your house for a long time, specially those who have to migrate to another country for a period of time for work or for those who have vacation houses, the following are effective tips so that your house won’t attract yin energies or spirits.

1. Use Mantra Boxes

Mantra boxes are small radio like equipments that has mantras recorded on them. These are affordable and are very energy efficient. One mantra box like this such as the one in the picture only uses 2 AA batteries and it will last you for about a week. Just keep them playing, if you can’t go back every week, do have a friend or a relative replace the batteries once a week. The mantras played by the mantra box will help ensure the protection of your house.

When leaving for a long period of time get a small mantra box like the one in the picture. Don't get anythings that's really fancy such as those with lights, they consume battery energy faster. These are more energy efficient and 2 AA Batteries will last for a longer period of time.

2. Solar Powered Prayer Wheels

Get yourself a solar – powered prayer wheel and put them beside a window and allow where sunlight can come in. This will also help ensure that your house is protected from yin energies.

3. Leave a bowl of rock or sea salt in each of the room.

4. Make sure some curtains are open to help ensure sunlight continues to come in.

Protecting Your Home’s Energy from the Negative Chi of a Police Station or Prison.

Published Nobyembre 28, 2013 by jptan2012

In my last post – LIVING NEAR THE POLICE STATION DOESN’T NECESSARILY MEAN YOUR SAFE! – I wrote about how living near a police station doesn’t necessarily mean you’re safer and that these places creates negative chi that may seep out and affect your house.police station2

But I always believe that knowing an ill effect of something is useless unless one can remedy it. This is the beauty of Feng Shui, it gives us tool to counter all these negative things that we can’t avoid.

Please note that ideally we won’t have to live near a police station or a prison. However, due to urbanization, a lot of us will inevitably be exposed to such areas. If this is truly unavoidable, I strongly suggest the following cures:

  1. Put a FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS AMULET or KALACHAKRA SYMBOL on your door or to the window nearest the police station.
I decided to put THE FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS inside a test tube type glass holder that I bought in The Bead Shop, then I included the incense ash, Pink Himalayan Salt inside before sealing it. Thank you to DU, a reader and friend who took this photo.

The Kalachakra symbol is one of the most powerful protection symbol in Buddhism. It actually consists of ten syllable mantra, with it symbolic script condensed into one. The mantra itself is HO HAM KSHAMALA VARAYA HUM PHAT. However, the mantra of the Kalachakra is never chanted without the mantra OM AH HUM. Making the complete mantra of Kalachakra - OM AH HUM HO HAM KSHAMALA VARAYA HUM PHAT. This is the reason why I decided to put the symbolic script of the mantra OM AH HUM on top of the Kalachakra symbol. As mentioned this is a very powerful protection symbol and can be likened to the Scapular of the Catholics. In fact, you'll seldom see a Tibetan Monk with wearing the symbol of the Kalachakra on their body. It may be hidden but most likely they have it somewhere on their body. But you'll never see them have the symbolic scripts tattooed because it is considered extremely bad luck to have a mantra tattooed on your body.

  2. People inside the house may also wish to wear a FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS AMULET or the WISH FULFILLING AND BUDDHA’S BLESSING MANTRA PENDANT, which has the image of the Kalachakra, Medicine Buddha and Kuan Kong, all three will provide protection from the negative chi sent out by the police station. Wearing the WEALTH AND MASTER PROTECTION PENDANT, which has the image of Sun Wukong is also very good, but the WEALTH AND MASTER PROTECTION PENDANT is even pricier than the WISH FULFILLING AND BUDDHA’S BLESSING MANTRA PENDANT. Nevertheless, a reader – friend who went to Bangkok was able to get a rare image of Sun Wukong as a Buddha. If you can get that kind of pendant it will also serve as a very good protection.

Handling Kua Direction Problems

Published Nobyembre 27, 2013 by jptan2012

Recently, Atty. B, a reader whom I’ve met in person,  got his WISH FULFILLING AND BUDDHA’S BLESSING MANTRA PENDANT found out about his Kua number and Kua good and bad directions.

Unfortunately, Atty. B’s head is facing his bad direction and he is unable to move his bed, much more to move to another room. I received an SMS asking for a possible cure. Normally, I would insist that a person change his sleeping directions, however, I seem to sense that Atty. B is somebody who would have seriously considered it already but just can’t make any adjustments.

So for all of you who is facing the same dilemma, I suggest the following cure:

  1. Place a bowl of rock or sea salt on your headboard. If you can get Pink Himalayan Salt, all the better. The hassle here is that you have to remember to replace the salt every 2 weeks. The salt will constantly neutralize all the negative energies.

Any kind of sea salt or rock salt will do. But using Pink Himalayan Salt is the best.

Any kind of sea salt or rock salt will do. But using Pink Himalayan Salt is the best.

  2. A cluster of amethyst or clear quartz crystal. The crystal will act as a generator of positive chi.amethyst cluster
  3. Ammonite. I’ve written about Ammonites before and if you read the article / blog post again you might be wondering as to why we one would need a wealth enhancing cure if one faces a bad direction. This is because one of the major negative effects of facing a bad direction is a financial problem. Sometimes, I can seriously impede your full wealth potential. Meaning you might have some money, but what you don’t realize is that because you faced your bad Kua direction that wealth potential that you are enjoying could be so much bigger!ammonite
  4. An image of the Goddess of the North Star or Dou Mu Yuan Jun. A small one will do but it has to be made of jade. Goddess of the North Star is said to be the mother of the entire Tai Suey god, and is the ruler of all directions. Having an image of the Goddess of the North Star on your headboard is like receiving the protective love of a celestial mother. Remember you can use a big pendant size image that is made of jade. Unfortunately, this can be hard to find.Dou Mu Yuan Jun
  5. Kalachakra Symbol. The Kalachakra is also another master protection image from Buddhism. Having the image on your headboard will provide added protection. I have written about the power of the Kalachakra several times. Although, I just realized that I never had a post solely about it. One of the best ways to understand Kalachakra is to read my post about the WISH FULFILLING AND BUDDHA’S BLESSING MANTRA PENDANT.

The Kalachakra symbol is one of the most powerful protection symbol in Buddhism. It actually consists of ten syllable mantra, with it symbolic script condensed into one. 6. Lastly, having unlit sandalwood incense or real sandalwood will also help negate the negative energy cause by facing the negative Kua direction.sandalwood

Note that it is necessary to have all six items there. People often ask me why do we need to have all six. The above suggestion is a product of several trial and error recommendation of my Feng Shui teacher in Hong Kong. He found that lacking an item will not work as well as having all six items. Personally, I have recommended this cure to a friend before. Since he was not able to immediately get an image of Dou Mu Yuan Jun, he confessed that it seem not to work as well as he wanted it to be. Fortunately, I came across an image of the Dou Mu Yuan Jun and gave one to him; he said he could feel the difference once he had the image of Dou Mu Yuan Jun.
