Lumad: Understanding the Issue.

Published Agosto 4, 2017 by jptan2012

Although, I have made some political forecast on this blog, this blog has never been political. One of the latest ‘political’ forecast I have written is about the 2016 Philippine presidential elections. Both my forecast regarding the presidential and vice – presidential results both came true. As I have said, those are forecast and although it is about politics, the nature of the post is not political.

Today, however, I’m going to write about something that may be perceived as highly political. I want to write about the plight of the Lumads. If you are a Filipino who have watched or been up to date about the current political situation in the Philippines, you would have heard about the Lumads. In fact, the Lumads has supported President Rodrigo Duterte in the last election. However, recently just before the State of the Nation Address (SONA) one of their leaders has come out and blatantly said that they regret supporting PDuts and that it was a wrong decision fro them to do so. Consistent with the President’s personality, if you criticize him, he will attack you, and so he did and said that he will bomb all the Lumad schools because they are run by NPAs. Since the announcement, the DND Secretary has since announced that no such move will be made.

After the SONA, I have heard of people attacking the Lumads, but upon probing they seem not aware of who the Lumads are and what are their plight. And so I have decided to write about Lumads and their sad plight. Please note that some parts of the post might be perceived as critical or as highly political. The truth is as much as I want to avoid being political there are truths that can’t be avoided and I do have to write about it, these truths, unfortunately, are political in nature.

So here’s a brief on the struggle of the Lumads.

Lumad is a generic term for all Mindanaoan tribes but I think this excluded all Muslim tribes. .

As tribes their ancestral lands have been threatened many times, on different issues, and by different groups.

Their usual struggle are with loggers, big and small scale, mining companies, big and small scale, etc. To put it simply, any group or anybody who threatens their ancestral lands is also a threat to the Lumads. For years they are being driven out of their ancestral lands to the point that they no longer have stability and peace. Different groups now reach out to the tribes – religious groups (Catholic and Protestant), International and Local NGOs. Government agencies are not as aggressive in helping, if not totally not felt.

Education is also a challenge because DepEd does not put up schools in remote communities. They expect the IPs (Indigenous People) to walk kilometers on end, and expect them to blend with non IPs.

Aside from the fact that DepEd’s curriculum is not IP friendly. It does not have special subjects on culture, tradition, and other IP related issues, which are very important to help them maintain their identity and culture.

Being so, different groups, in different areas different groups have opened IP schools, with volunteer teachers being given “allowances” only. Some teachers are really LET passers that doesn’t have the privilege of having backers at the DepEd and are unable to get a job. So instead of working as cashiers, store clerk or house maids, etc, they’d rather teach even if they only go home 1x, 2x a month and receive only allowance.

The curriculum in these schools are more sensitive to IPs. Of course, there’s emphasis on environmental protection like it’s not proper to cut down trees, and one should take care of rivers, seas, and mountains.

There are ares where the oppressors are aggressive. Mining companies that have driven out IPs maintain PAGs or Private Armed Groups which co exist with the local Phil Army. PAGs have high – end ammo, sometimes they are even than what the army carries. Several of my friends has seen some of them carrying AK -47.

In areas of Davao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, mining companies are trying to explore “other” sites, which are ancestral lands of the Lumads. These are also the sites where the oppressors are more aggressive.

Lumads doesn’t have any weapons, unless bolos are counted, but they only use it for their daily life like chopping bamboos.. Lumads are generally peaceful tribes or people. They’re not warriors like the Tausugs. So when threatened, they NEED to look for help. So when they become vulnerable because of a threatening situation, they don’t have much choice but to ACCEPT the help of the NPA. The Lumads also admit that there are a few ‘renegade’ Lumads that are being recruited by the PAGs. Of course, in situations like this, money is involved. These renegade Lumads turn their back on their tribe.

As mentioned Priest and Nuns also help the Lumads. The nuns who sells Turmeric Powder, they usually get it from the Lumad communities.

Of course, each group has it’s own approach. The church usually helps in education, livelihood and spirituality. The NPAs provide protection and security.

At this point I would like to make it clear that there is no way I condole violence and support the ideology of the NPA.

2 years ago, a foreign owned mining company that seems to have ties with a Congressman from Visayasdrove out and burned a community in Surigao which they have been wanting to EXPLORE but the Lumads have tried so hard to protect. Because of this the PAGs killed the executive director and 2 volunteer teachers in Surigao IN FRONT of the whole Lumad community. PAGs with the local Army (of course they denied), gathered the whole community, separated the men, women, children they then slit the throat of the ED, then gun down 2 teachers in full view of the shocked Lumads.

Governor Pimentel (although some say he is also connected with Mining companies) took the thousands of Lumads and housed them for over a year at the provincial sports complex. He challenged the national agencies (NBI, PNP, AFP) to arrest and disarm the PAGs.

The national agencies said, why didn’t the police of the Governor arrest them? But according to the governor the .38 caliber of their police is literally rusty, how can they fight with PAGs with AK47!

Anyway, no apprehension was ever made.

It is sad that lately the Lumads are evacuating the area again because they are being harassed either by PAGs or the Army.

This problem has been existing for quite some time, and it is difficult to put the blame on a single administration. However, it is also clear that mining is one of the main reason of this attrition. But so far, mining continues, despite of the pronouncement that the administration is against it, it does continue to these days. Gina Lopez was supposed to be the hope and savior of the Lumads, but her efforts were put to an end when the Commission on Appointments didn’t approved her, and it is perceived that the president didn’t put pressure on CA to have her approved.

Anyway, so every so often, this is what happens to the Lumads. PAGs will threaten Lumad communities, the church will help, but when violence erupts it really are the NPAs who help them.

The Army is said to hate the IP schools because IP kids become more intelligent and know their right because of the IP schools.

Before I end this post, I would like to state that this is how I understand it, but please feel free to learn more about it by doing your independent research. I would like to stress here, I don’t mean to put what the NPAs are doing in a good light, neither do I support any form of violence, be it from the rebel or from the government. I also don’t support the ideology of the NPAs.

Sandwiched Between Two Empty Houses Can Cause Bad Luck!

Published Hulyo 1, 2017 by jptan2012

Recently, a good friend called me up to ask me about a concern. Apparently they are having a financial problem, which started a few months ago. He assured me that they didn’t do any renovations and that everything in their house and office stayed pretty much the same.

I initially thought that it might be karmic, but in the course of our conversation, he mentioned that his neighbors on the left and right side of his townhouse, which is apparently owned by the same family who have migrated to Canada has left the houses empty. I knew immediately that this might be the problem, because I know for a fact that in the morning to afternoon nobody is in the house of my good friend because they are all either in school or office.

The empty houses beside them will have an excess of yin and because all through out the day nobody is inside their house, there will be too much yin also in their house and this can cause bad luck.

Normally, the cure for his is to arrange for a small bulb of light to be turn on all the time. For houses that don’t share the same wall, you can also arrange for a spotlight to be turn towards the side of that house or to be turned on that side of the house. However, these recommendations are not possible for my good friend.

And so the only recommendation is for them to put a Vajrapani Ruel or a Surangama Mantra Amulet on their wall nearest to that side of the house. The said amulets will provide the yang energy that will help neutralize the excessive yin energy.

I know that their finances will start getting better soon.

Myth Buster 43: Incense Smoke Brings Our Prayers to Heaven

Published Nobyembre 17, 2016 by jptan2012

When I was in still elementary and going to a Christian school, my Christian teacher told us that when Buddhist (collectively referring to Taoist and Buddhist) pray they light an incense because the incense smoke brings the prayer the wishes to heaven. Of course, given that she is our teacher, a lot of us believe this. and later on I found out that this is a very common beliefs amongst non – Taoist or non – Buddhist, but more than that this is also a common belief amongst Taoist and Buddhist as well.

There is no truth to that belief. When we chant – a – mantra, or recite – a – sutra, or even pray, we don’t need to light incense for the Buddhas or Bodhisattvas to hear our prayer. In fact, the sutra says even before we say our heart’s wishes or desires, the Buddhas and the Bodhisattvas already know them. We only light incense as an offering to the Buddhas or Bodhisattvas or Taoist Gods.

Spilling Salt Is A Sign of Bad Luck!

In the preceding post, I talked about the how salt is used as main and very essential ingredient in making the Catholic Church’s holy water.

Today, I would like to share with you another thing about salt.

Once, while having dinner with some High School friends, one of them accidentally spilled salt. I told him that spilling salt is a sign that bad luck is about to come, meaning a bad thing or bad things may soon happen. As I was about to proceed to tell him how to counter or stop the bad luck from happening, he sort of rudely told me that he is a Christian and that he don’t believes in such things. Another friend who knows my interest in Feng Shui signal for me to just keep quiet. Until now, I still don’t know whether I did the right thing.

For soon after that incident, that particular High School friend entered into a bad business and he almost lost everything. He was reminded of his encounter with me and asked me as to what he should do. Luckily, at that time the Vajrapani Ruel is already available and so he got one. Soon he started to put his business back and got back what he lost.

But the question is whether he can do anything when he spilled the salt to stop the bad luck? The answer is yes. He can be more cautious and be aware of the warning. He can also simply pinch a salt from the spilled salt and throw it over his shoulders while chanting OM AMI DEWA HRIH or OM AH HUM or OM MANI PADME HUM seven times. By doing that one can surely prevent the bad luck from happening or at the very least, it can help you from receiving the full impact of the bad luck.

Having said that, I would like to clarify that spilling salt doesn’t bring bad luck. Spilling salt signifies that bad luck may happen. So the bad luck is already there and is forthcoming, spilling salt serves as a warning.

Financial Blessing, Recuperation of Career, Academic Excellence, Justice for Maltreatment of School Officials – A Family Received Several Miracles: A Vajrapani Ruel and Ing Deng Pay Miraculous Personal Testimonies!

Published Marso 1, 2016 by jptan2012

“I will not call you again unless I have some good news!”

That’s what a reader told me a few months back, that was after she got a few pieces of Vajrapani Ruel and an Ing Deng Pay.

“Please share my story and please put our name on your post! I don’t care whether people get to know me I’m just happy and I want the wonderful blessing that my family received shared!” Lourdes Serafico shared with me a week or two ago, when after getting the Vajrapani Ruel and Ing Deng Pay and promising that she won’t call me back unless there’s good news or unless good things has happened to her family. She called back, which means there is some good news. And so I’m sharing it with you now.

Before I share with you her wonderful story, I know that if you are a regular reader of this blog that this is the first time I’m writing down the name of a reader without using initials. I really had to think about this carefully whether I should be doing this, because I always value my reader’s privacy and I don’t want to appear that I’m using them to promote this blog. I know I have taken a lot of criticisms by trying to hide the real name of my readers who have some personal miraculous stories to share. Some people went as far as saying that the stories are not real, although I must say if that accusation were true then you should still credit me for being a creative writer, and obviously I’m not a creative writer. There are still a lot of grammatical errors.

Anyway, why do I have to break that rule now? One, because hiding her real name now is useless because I intend to include her story in my upcoming book and there she would be named also as well as other readers who agreed to be named. Second, Lourdes herself insisted that I write down her family’s name, I don’t know whether she has read about the criticisms and attacks made about me, but I have a feeling that in a way, by insisting that I include her family’s name, she was really doing me a favor. And so after much thought I decided to write her full name but have decided to take out the name of her daughter who is going to be prominently featured in this post because she is still a minor and I also decided not to include the name of her husband who is also featured prominently in this post because he deals with a lot of international businessman.

Going back to the story of Lourdes, she first contacted me about a couple of years ago. According to her she has been a silent follower and reader of my blog, until I wrote about the post entitled – DON’T CREATE YIN ENERGY WITH YOUR DEAD PET’S BODY! – She was quite frantic because in her yard she did buried several of her dog’s body. That was the primary reason she called me, she believes that because of burying the dogs body within her yard they created a lot of negative energies and that started the ‘nose diving’ of her husband’s professional career. Furthermore, around that time also started the problem of her youngest daughter’s problems in school. I have written about my visit to their house in a post called – ADOPTED ABANDONED DOGS ARE SAVING THEIR HUMANS!

I really don’t know why I didn’t put the whole story back then, but there must be a reason that I can’t remember now. But reading the said post made me realized that I have written somewhat of a ‘short’ version of their story and decided to focus instead on how the abandoned dogs that they are saved in return were saving them. But to briefly put the whole story, by burying the dead body of the dogs within their yard created a lot of yin energy of their family, but more than that they also had several Feng Shui blunders. Primarily all their doors are ‘Yin Dragon Door’, please read the post – ADOPTED ABANDONED DOGS ARE SAVING THEIR HUMANS! – to understand more about it.

Basically what happened was life was good for them, AS (Lourdes’ husband) has a very good professional life, their children were all doing great in school, and they were building their new home. They hired a Feng Shui to build their new home, and this particular Feng Shui consultant suggested that they make a ‘dragon door’. Briefly speaking, ‘dragon doors’ are doors made diagonally with a special calculation to bring in tremendous amount of luck, which is called ‘dragon luck’. There are a lot of these kinds of doors in old Singapore structures that is believed to have brought in a lot of luck not only to the owners of these establishments or houses but to the country as well. However, the danger of making a ‘dragon door’ is that your calculations has to be précised, a single millimeter mistake will make the ‘dragon door’ into a ‘yin dragon door’ and if a ‘dragon door’ brings in dragon luck or tremendous amount of luck, a ‘yin dragon door’ will bring in tremendous amount of bad luck! I was actually surprised that their Feng Shui consultant recommended this because I know that only a handful of real grand masters know of this formula. I myself never suggested making a ‘dragon door’ because of the strict calculations involve. To be completely honest, when they mentioned the name of their Feng Shui, who happens to be quite famous, I was taken aback a little because I’m quite sure that this particular Feng Shui consultant is not familiar with the formula of making the ‘dragon door’, and even if this Feng Shui consultant is familiar with the formula, the making of the door should be closely monitored by the Feng Shui expert or consultant, something that didn’t happen in this situation because when the said Feng Shui consultant never followed on them again when the agreed fees was received. According to Lourdes, they did try to call the Feng Shui consultant again and again but to no avail.

Because of the said several Feng Shui blunders their luck took a turn from good to really bad. As mentioned earlier, AS’s career took a nosedive and that includes the financial luck that comes with having a good career. Furthermore, Lourdes’ youngest daughter who is quite a genius became problematic in school. Her daughter is excelling both in academic and other activities. She plays the several musical instruments and participates in several extra – curricular activities. However, at about the same time she fell from grace from the nuns who runs her school. I won’t be able to go into details because I don’t want to tell a story of which I don’t remember all the facts, but according to Lourdes, there was one time the nuns who run the Catholic college requested for a donation amounting to Php 100,000.00. The Serafico’s refused to make the said donation and curiously it also started the rounds of complaints from the nuns about their daughter. Several of these complaints are unfounded while some are subject to misinterpretation. To give you an example, being an intelligent child, their daughter would normally reason out to the nuns when they ever will call her attention to something that they think she did. For the nuns this is not a reasoning of an intelligent independent child who refuses to be wrongly accused, but rather it is being disrespectful. Lourdes tried to fix things properly, but it was quite obvious that the nuns are really just angry with her daughter. Some of the teachers and some nuns took their side but the powerful ones got really angry with her. It became so bad that the Serafico’s filed a case against the nuns. However, the Serafico’s believe that it was quashed using ‘money’.

At that time all these are happening, I suggested that the only cure they have for their ‘yin dragon door’ is to fix it and make a proper door (but this would cost a lot) or use gold Kalachakra to fix it. The Vajrapani Ruel was not yet available at that time. They were unable to fix the problem because rebuilding the door will require lots of money and not to mention they will have to make major renovations to their (at that time) unfinished house because of the financial problem that hit them. When the Vajrapani Ruel became available they got the Vajrapani Ruel, which was immediately followed by the Ing Deng Pay or Landlord’s Tablet. Please click here to know more about the Ing Deng Pay. That was several months ago and at that time Lourdes told me, “I will not call you again unless I have some good news!” Meaning I don’t think she’ll talk to me ever again unless either the Vajrapani Ruel or Ing Deng Pay works. Together they cost quite a fortune.

But I was really happy that a week or two ago (at that time of this writing) Lourdes and I got to talk again and she relayed to me the good news.

First, although the case they filed didn’t push through because it was quashed and never saw the light of day, it caught the attention of a senator and this particular senator used it as an example in the law that he authored. I can’t be sure but because of this the school officials were called for an investigation in aid of legislation (again not sure whether I remember this bit of information right). Several of the nuns were called to report to Rome, again because of the case against their daughter. Enrollment in the said college went down not by a few percent but by more than 50%!

Vajrapani Ruel

The Vajrapani Ruel looks simple, maybe even rustic, but this simple amulet is packed with a special talisman paper inside, with various ingredients, which includes Namtso Salt, soil, various herbs and plants, crystal, and a relic from a high lama. It’s important to put the ruel inside a amulet holder or something sturdy as to not ruin it. If the cloth had tear which exposes or spill the ingredients inside, the ruel becomes useless. The Vajrapani Ruel itself is only about 1 to 2 inches and it varies from one ruel to another.

Second, their daughter was forced to transfer, and Lourdes and AS was initially afraid that their daughter will have a hard time adjusting in her new school. Not to mention they were initially wary of where to transfer her. However, their daughter’s former principal who is aware of what kind of policies the nuns run and who knows Lourdes’ daughter really well encouraged Lourdes to transfer her daughter to the school were she works now. Lourdes was happy of this development but there is one big hindrance, the new school is an international school and base they might not be able to afford the very premium enrollment and school fees. But when their daughter took the entrance exam she was also offered a 100% scholarship! The very first scholarship offered by the said school! Furthermore, her daughter is now every teacher’s favorite. Needless to say she still has academic excellence and also excel in different extra – curricular activities. Her new teachers only have good words for her and always hand picks her to join different competitions!

As for AS, he got a new job and is currently managing 250+ fleets or international ships! Recently, a businessman handpicked him to manage 50+ more ships or fleets, and this particular businessman wouldn’t want anybody else to manage his fleets except AS. Needless to say the more fleets he manages, the higher income he’ll get!

And so those are the reasons why after a few months I got to talk to Lourdes again.

I’m sure a lot of people will be asking which one really works? Is it the Vajrapani Ruel or the Ing Deng Pay? It’s quite hard to say but both are quite powerful and have a very high miracle rate. The reason I seldom write about the Ing Deng Pay or Landlord’s Tablet is because it is quite pricey which may be a hindrance for some people from availing it. But in the end it doesn’t really matter what worked because good news is good news. Let us not forget, I’m quite sure that Lourdes and AS also prayed a lot for the welfare of their family.
