I think most, if not all, Feng Shui experts or Feng Shui writers or Feng Shui consultants (whether commercialized or not) agrees that we have officially entered the darker part of THE the year base on the 2017 bazi chart (paht chee chart). Regular readers of this blog will remember that I have written about this during my annual forecast.
First, I wrote that a ‘calamity’ will happen on the 3rd quarter of the year or it may start to happen at around the third quarter and we will start to feel its effect towards the 4th quarter or next year. Please note that I’m talking about the 3rd quarter to 4th quarter of the lunar month and not of the Western Calendar that we regularly use officially.
Just recently, internationally famous Feng Shui expert Lillian Too has announced that we have entered the darker part of the year. My Feng Shui teacher in Hong Kong has said the same thing and furthermore, my Guru Lama has said the energies of the year have since become more negative.
Last Hungry Ghost month, which was in the 3rd quarter of the Lunar Month, saw the calamities and typhoons that struck different countries. I have written about this but failed to mention that it happened also in Nepal, India and other countries. It also happened recently in Puerto Rico, which was at the tail end of the Hungry Ghost month, but the real tragedy is that the POTUS refused to help them and became more concerned about trivial matter.
Rohingya Muslims persecutions has also become worst and might have reached it’s peak during the Hungry Ghost month.
In the Philippines, politically speaking we are in a turmoil. I don’t want to be political on this blog, but if you base it on the bazi chart and what my Guru Lama is saying, something bad has started to brew and will see it’s effect soon, which is towards the end of the year or early next year.
What is important now, regardless of your political belief or affiliation, is for you to think beyond yourself and think for this country or for this world. And I’m saying this not just for the Filipinos but also for everybody who reads regardless of whether where you live. Remember, there is brewing war that involves North Korea – USA – Japan. This war is not a matter of ‘if’ but rather of ‘when’. And the truth is it has started on a more discreet level.
Again, generally speaking a good leader is somebody who unifies rather than one who is divisive. A good leader accepts that there will be opposition and embrace it as part of it’s growth, and not somebody who tries to attack and silence those who attack him or her. A good leader is somebody who sticks to the facts and not makes up stories to malign those who oppose him or her. A good leader doesn’t come up with false stories just because he or she knows that there are people who are blind followers.
But it is time for us to get out of our own comfort zone because we have to share the truth; each of us has to do that in our own way. And we should all start praying that things will get better. We can oppose these dark energies with prayers.
On a personal level, money matters might become harder thus my Guru Lama decided to release the VAISRAVANA – DZAMBHALA WEALTH AMULET (1), and on top of that one should always protect oneself with good deeds, prayers, and amulets.
While we should be more concern on the macro effects of the dark energies that has come in, it is not to say that this will not have any effect on us on a personal level. As mentioned, on a personal level the effect will be mostly financial, although it might have some effect on communication and personal relationships as well. Furthermore, it will have an effect on our personal safety. It is important that one continues to pray and save some money. Again protect yourself, wear your gold Kalachakra pendant, or Vajrapani Ruel, or even the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet, the Illness Suppression Amulet. If you don’t have these, you can wear an image of Bodhisattva Earth Store (aka Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva), Bodhisattva Kuan Yin (also spelled or called as Kuan Shi Yin, Quan Shi Yin, Quan Yin, Guan Shi Yin, Guan Yin, Avalokitesvara, Chenrezig, Kannon, Bodhisattva of Compassion, Goddess of Mercy), or Buddha Amitabha, or Medicine Buddha.
The Vaisavana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet has the consecrated copies of the mantras of King Vaisravana of the Four Heavenly Kings and the mantras of the Five Dzambhalas. Furthermore, there are some special ingredients in powder form that are included to add to the potency of the amulet. Before it is sealed it is furthered consecrated on the image of The Four Heavenly Kings. It is placed in a metal case, not just for its durability and protection but according to the Tantric Buddhist Scripture book where Guru Lama got the instructions for this amulet, it has to be placed in cylindrical metal case to symbolize continuity and stability.
This is a Kalachakra pendant released by Lillian Too. I really love this pendant but find it too expensive. The Kalachakra Symbol is a powerful protection symbol. It is actually ten syllable mantra compressed into one symbol. The mantra is HO HAM KSHAMALA VARAYA HUM PHAT. However, it is usually chanted with OM AH HUM thus making the complete mantra as OM AH HUM HO HAM KSHAMALA VARAYA HUM PHAT. It is because off this that for the WISH FULFILLING AND BUDDHA’S BLESSING MANTRA PENDANT, I decided to put the symbolic script OM AH HUM on top of Kalachakra Symbol.
The Vajrapani Ruel looks simple, maybe even rustic, but this simple amulet is packed with a special talisman paper inside, with various ingredients, which includes Namtso Salt, soil, various herbs and plants, crystal, and a relic from a high lama. It’s important to put the ruel inside a amulet holder or something sturdy as to not ruin it. If the cloth had tear which exposes or spill the ingredients inside, the ruel becomes useless. The Vajrapani Ruel itself is only about 1 to 2 inches and it varies from one ruel to another.
The Illness Suppression Amulet or Illness Protection Amulet is a special highly consecrated amulet made by my Guru Lama as a cure for the Illness Star a star that also causes accidents. It has the energies of the Medicine Buddha, Namgyalma Buddha, Amitayus Buddha and White Umbrella Goddess. Furthermore, the small black thing you see at the bottom of the glass amulet holder is a Dharma Pill, which is made from a second – class relic of a confirmed holy lama. It also has a small amount of ash from the last Medicine Buddha holy initiation conducted by my Guru Lama, and aside from individual special consecration, the whole amulet was further consecrated under the Tooth Relic of Shakyamuni Buddha.
From my personal collection. A rare Red Amber Ksitigarbha. If wearing it as a pendant, I prefer the image with the five leave crown. Unfortunately, it is quite difficult to get a Ksitigarbha pendant unless you’re from Malaysia, Hong Kong, or Singapore.

One of the most common questions that I get is whether we can do anything about our Bazi Chart (Paht Chee Chart). Does that mean if our bazi shows that we don’t have love luck or wealth luck does that mean we will never get rich or we will never be lucky in terms of romance luck?
This is an interesting topic because a lot of people get confused about this.
It is true that the bazi chart pretty much determines the life of a person, but what most people don’t understand is that this chart or road map is seldom linear and seldom unilateral. While there is single strong path that the bazi shows, a good bazi reader will see the other paths or what I would like to call sub – paths or alternative path. These sub – paths or alternative paths are there, although it is harder to calculate and determine this but it is there.
All of us have a dominant path, and this is what is easily seen. But most of us have sub- paths also and these are usually 3 or 4 sub – paths or at the very least a minimum of another one. I have never encountered a person without a sub – path, but my Feng Shui teacher in Hong Kong and Guru Lama both said that there are people who only have one single path.
Let me explain it further. The bazi chart will always show the dominant path, and only a good bazi reader can see the sub – paths, even this they may or may not see all the sub – paths or the alternative paths.
If our dominant path is bad, how do we then veer away from it and go one of the sub – paths or alternative paths? This is where a good bazi reader comes in. But before that you have to know that a Feng Shui expert or a Feng Shui consultant may or may not be a bazi chart reader. Here in the Philippines, most of the commercialized Feng Shui consultants or experts are not bazi reader. It is easy to determine this, if they all ask from you is your birthdate and not the time, or all they need to know is whether you were born in a year of the Ox or Rabbit or Dragon, etc. These are clear signs that they don’t know how to analyze a bazi chart. So a good bazi reader will be able to tell you what you should do or wear or carry to help veer away from your dominant part. Usually, specific instructions are involve like you should work harder and work in the field of electronic for example. Or they should be able to tell you to wear more red or blue or white, etc. Or they should be able to wear a specific amulet.
The importance of wearing a legitimate authentic and powerful amulet also comes in to play. An authentic powerful amulet will also help drive you the best path, or to an alternative path that you are ready to go through. Sometimes we are not directed to the best path because our consciousness is not able to discern bigger things for us. Or sometimes the miracle that serves as the key to the alternative path is already right in front of us but we refuse to see it only because we want something else or are expecting something else.
Now, when we get to this alternative path, it becomes our dominant path, but then again it is seldom linear or unilateral, so from this dominant are other alternative paths also.
It is also possible that from our good dominant path we downgrade to one of the bad paths due to bad karmic things that we do on this life.
So working on this principle, what an amulet does or a Feng Shui charm or cure does is lead us to one of the alternative paths, this path may or may not be the best path, but it will be most likely better than the dominant path.
What an amulet does for us is that it pulls our luck from one of the alternative paths and set us to that path. Sometimes though an amulet like the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet creates luck for us, in this particular amulet, it creates wealth luck for us, which becomes our key to one of the better sub – paths.
But it is not all about amulets or Feng Shui cures or charms. Working hard and keeping a positive outlook can also lead us to the other alternative paths and make it our dominant path. Having a good heart, thus creating good karma can also lead us to better alternative path, in the same manner bad karma can lead us to bad alternative path or sub – path and turn it into our dominant path.
Furthermore, we should never underestimate the power of prayers. I have seen so many lives changed only because of the power of prayers.
And so yes, our lives are pre – determined but it is never linear or unilateral.

In the preceding post, I talked about BM and how she was asking me about this year’s Hungry Ghost Month. As I said in that post, I made some mistake in saying that this year’s Hungry Ghost Month is not any worse than an ordinary Hungry Ghost Month, although like any other Ghost Month one has to be very careful and cautious with one’s dealings. And so when I found out about the Lunar Eclipse and the Total Solar Eclipse that is happening on the eve of the Hungry Ghost Month which is on August 21, I have to call her and rectify what I initially told her. But instead of making it a dreadful conversation as to what are the bad things that may happen, BM said something that is full of wisdom.
You see, last year people born in the year of the Ox have some terrible luck. We had one of the strongest #5 Flying Star (also known as Wu Wang or Five Yellow Star) and it landed on the sector of the Ox! Furthermore, last year’s Hungry Ghost Month was quite intense for people born in the year of the Ox. In the strictest sense of the word was bad year for the Ox, and very challenging one. BM was born in the year of the Ox and she survived last year with panache!!!!
What did she do? Obviously she armed herself with all the necessary amulets like the Five Element Pagoda gold pendant, the gold Kalachakra pendant, Vajrapani Ruel, etc., You name it she has it, but what is most important is that she armed herself with what I would like to call the AMULET FROM WITHIN!
What is this AMULET FROM WITHIN? It is quite simple really; basically she sincerely armed herself with goodness, compassion, kindness, and love. Obviously, this is not something that she does only for the sake of the Hungry Ghost Month or for counter acting the effects of bad luck. But this is something that stems from within her and sincere is an understatement.
You see whenever we talk, BM, would always candidly share that she prays everyday but she seldom prays for herself, she always pray for other people. 99% of her prayers are for other people and if she ever mentions herself it is simply a “postscript” rather than the center of her prayers. Below, I will put a link of all the BM articles, and there you will get to read about all the sincere charity that’s she do almost everyday. In so many ways, she is indeed a human bodhisattva.
And so when I was talking to her about the effects of the total solar eclipse on the eve of the Hungry Ghost Month that is happening this year, she reminded me that aside from all the amulets, prayers is what really saved her. And of course, all the merits she has planted by way of good deeds and good thoughts without expecting anything in return.

A few days ago, BM, a reader and a friend from Davao, who regular readers of this blog would be familiar by this time, asked me about this year’s Hungry Ghost Month. She wants to know whether it is going to be particularly bad. If you look at the relation of the coming of the Hungry Ghost Month with the flying star of August and September, the effects should not be very bad, and so I told her that this year’s Hungry Ghost Month although we should still be very careful is not in any way particularly stronger unless you are born in the year of the Horse, Snake or Sheep.
However, when I said this I was really busy and haven’t really taken the time out to look at formation of the stars thoroughly, and so I was greatly surprised that during one of my business meetings, one of my clients who knows that I’m a Feng Shui writer asked me about the effects of the lunar eclipse. I was surprised because of my busy schedule I didn’t even realized that we just had a lunar eclipse, albeit a partial one. But of course this had me worried already, because every lunar eclipse is definitely followed by solar eclipse, and when I checked I found out that it would be a total solar eclipse!
Now whether we see the solar eclipse here in Asia or not is irrelevant because the effects is definitely worldwide.
I have written in previous articles that an eclipse is almost always a bad omen. This is whether the eclipse is solar or lunar. For this year’s solar eclipse, what makes it dreadful is that it happens on the eve of the Hungry Ghost Month, and I have never ever recalled than an eclipse happening on the eve of the Hungry Ghost Month, and this is most certainly an indication that something big either worldwide or to several countries will happen during the Hungry Ghost Month or will start during the Hungry Ghost Month.
In my annual forecast, I said something might happen on the 3rd quarter of this year, and this full solar eclipse on the eve of the Hungry Ghost Month seems to have validated this forecast, and so all of us have to be careful and take extra precaution. It will also greatly help if we can include in our prayers or dedication of merits our countries, the welfare of this world, and also the leaders of this world and of our countries.
On a personal level, it is best to stay indoor during the actual eclipse, and is also highly advisable to wear the Kalachakra Pendant, or carry the Vajrapani Ruel with a Chung Kwei. This is because this phenomenon also has the power wreak some bad luck in our lives. Financial problems might occur especially to those who are in the midst of big transition, or worst health or safety issues might arise especially to those who whose job or lifestyle is already putting them at risk more than a normal person is and definitely those who are already sick.
Regular readers of this blog knows that I hate being a messenger of doom, but this is something that we really need to face and be ready for. And as I always say, the reason we know these things in advance because we can do something about it.

When I was in still elementary and going to a Christian school, my Christian teacher told us that when Buddhist (collectively referring to Taoist and Buddhist) pray they light an incense because the incense smoke brings the prayer the wishes to heaven. Of course, given that she is our teacher, a lot of us believe this. and later on I found out that this is a very common beliefs amongst non – Taoist or non – Buddhist, but more than that this is also a common belief amongst Taoist and Buddhist as well.
There is no truth to that belief. When we chant – a – mantra, or recite – a – sutra, or even pray, we don’t need to light incense for the Buddhas or Bodhisattvas to hear our prayer. In fact, the sutra says even before we say our heart’s wishes or desires, the Buddhas and the Bodhisattvas already know them. We only light incense as an offering to the Buddhas or Bodhisattvas or Taoist Gods.

Any Feng Shui enthusiasts and Feng Shui students would have known by now that the month of November (starting on November 7, 2016 – December 6, 2016) a lot of us will have to be very careful and be ready for double negative energies brought about by the combination of the Annual Flying Stars and Monthly Flying Stars.
First, the most dreadful star (#5 Flying Star / Wu Wang / Five Yellow Star / 5 – Yellow Star) is doubled in the Northeast this month, which means people born under the year of the Ox and Tiger, Middle Sons (regardless of age, regardless whether they are married or single and whether they still live with their parents or not), and people staying in the Northeast (bedroom, office or even if your house is in the Northeast of the village or subdivision) and people whose house or office door faces the Northeast are all affected by the Double Wu Wang. This is the most dreadful star in the Flying Star formula, and all Feng Shui experts or Feng Shui consultants caution us about this, and having it doubles this year in the Northeast brings tremendous stress to those who have to deal with it. Those who have to deal with it are the people I mentioned above.
But at the same time, the #2 Flying Star, which is known as the Illness Star, a star that causes not only grave illness but also serious accidents that may lead to long term illness or death is also doubled this month. We are all susceptible to this, but people who are affected by the Wu Wang, as mentioned above, are doubly affected. As a precaution, it is highly advisable for you to wear the Illness Suppression Amulet if you have it.
For those who are affected by the Double Wu Wang in the Northeast can wear the Vajrapani Ruel and a gold 5 – Element Pagoda (Five Element Pagoda) pendant, and a gold Kalachakra pendant. Carrying or surrounding yourself with Traditional Sutra Amulets like THE MEDICINE BUDDHA SUTRA or THE SUTRA ON THE PAST VOWS OF EARTH STORE BODHISATTVA or THE DIAMOND SUTRA will also greatly help and offer much protection.
In my earlier post about the same topic, I also said that this is the time for one to rely and have faith on prayers. For Catholics you can do your novenas or pray your rosary. For Christians and Muslims you can pray to your God and have faith in Him. For Taoist, you can ask special protection Fu from your Taoist priest. For Buddhist and those who would be willing to practice how Buddhist protect themselves now can do the following suggestions found below.
Go to the temple and light incense everyday.
Go to the temple and bow to the images of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas everyday.
Donate to the poor or who are in need with utmost sincerity.
Chant the following mantras (minimum) 108x a day everyday:
Mantra of Amitabha Buddha: OM AMI DEWA HRIH
Mantra of Medicine Buddha: TADYATHA OM BHEKANDZYE BHEKANDZYE MAHA BHEKANDZYE RADZA SAMUGATE SOHA
Mantra of the Bodhisattva of Compassion Guan Yin: OM MANI PADME HUM
Mantra of Bodhisattva Vajrapani: OM VAJRAPANI HUM
Mantra of Bodhisattva Cundi Avalokitesvara (Chundi Avalokitesvara): NAMO SAPTANAM SAMYAKSAM BUDDHA KOTINAM TADYATHA OM CALE CULE CUNDI SOHA
Mantra of the Protective Deity Kalachakra: OM AH HUM HO HAM KSHAMALA VARAYA HUM PHAT
You can also Recite the following Sutras as often as you can:
Ire, Loves Well, obviously the Chinese ‘All Souls Day’ or day of remembering the dead doesn’t happen in November 1, or to be more accurate about it on November 2. All Saints Day / All Souls Day is a big deal for a lot of Filipinos and perhaps Catholics in the world. But is there is Feng Shui significance or relevance to this special day?
For Chinese, especially those who are in the older generation, it is very important that we remember our ancestors or loved ones who passed away, this is taken as a sign of respect but at the same time, it is believed that we should not earn their ire by forgetting about them, or we should earn their approval so that they can help shower blessing upon the living. This is why remembering our loved ones or dead ancestors are important part of the life of a Chinese. In fact, a lot of us have images of our ancestors in our home, where we light incense and offer food on special occasions. The older generation will offer incense everyday. This may be a little too excessive.
In Buddhism, according to the Medicine Buddha Sutra, when a person dies his or her consciousness will undergo rebirth within 7 days or 21 days or 35 days or 49 days. I will clarify that it will go through rebirth on the first day, it will have to wait for 7 days, then if you didn’t go through rebirth on the 7th day then on the 21st day if not then it will be 35th day, until 49th day. If you don’t go through rebirth in the first 5 stipulated days, then you will sure go rebirth on the 49th day.
But rebirth doesn’t necessarily mean rebirth here on earth as human.
There are different levels of possible rebirth and starting from the bottom they are the following:
The first six are considered as the lower realms wherein the being still has an attachment and the last four are considered as the upper realm wherein the being or our consciousness no longer has any attachment. Once one is born in the upper realm, his or her consciousness no longer goes back to any of the lower realm.
It should be noted that for Catholics or Christianity, heaven is the ultimate goal, for Buddhism is a better place than the first five but it is still a place where in desire and attachment exist and one can still go down to the other realms. It is also not the most desired realm. I will talk about the 10 realms further in a future post.
I will also discuss the difference between Hungry Ghost and the Hell in another post.
But for now what I want to show is that for Buddhism, one can be born in different realms, until we reach Buddhahood.
So when a person dies, his consciousness or soul as Christians would call it will be born again in one of these realms. As humans 98% we will be born in either the realm of Hell or Hungry Ghost or Animal Kingdom or Human (again). If we have been good we might be born in the realm of an Asura or a Heavenly Beings.
This is where remembering and offering ‘good merits’ to our departed love ones or ancestors will become important. For example, your loved one or ancestor was born in the realm of the Hell or Animal Kingdom or Hungry Ghost, by offering good merits to them such as praying for them or chanting mantras or reciting sutras for them will shortened their suffering in the lower realms of Hell or Hungry Ghost or Animal Kingdom. On the other hand, if they were born in the realm of Human, by offering good merits to them their life will be better. If their current life is bad it will become better, if it is already good it will become even better. And if they were born as an Asura or Heavenly Beings then their life will even become better or they maybe pushed up to being born as Arhat or a Pratyekabuddha.
But this is the thing. Days like ‘All Souls Day’ are important because it forced us to remember them on these days. However, it certainly doesn’t mean that we should only remember them on this day. In fact, it is very important that we offer prayers or mantras or sutras or incense to them everyday. And by remembering them and offering merits to them everyday, we in turn make our life better. Because we are interconnected with each other. They may have a totally different life now but because of affinity with each other we are somewhat linked to each other. And if we send them merits, in a way we also get our own merits.
