THE POWER OF PRAYER: A Christian Prayer Coupled with A Buddhist Prayer Made A Critical Day Run Really Smooth!

Published Abril 21, 2017 by jptan2012

Recently I have to travel to Davao as a favor to BM. We have to do some ceremonies or ritual at her husband’s office. I really don’t want to go because it will take a lot of time and it will eat up a day of my official business time. Anyway, Guru Lama told me to go and so I went.

The problem is this; I can only fly via Cebu Pacific in the morning and leave also on the same day. And so BM booked me on flight that leaves at around 430am. But I have to be in Davao at around 7am or 730am because that’s the time we should start the first part of the ritual, which will be followed by another ritual around 930am and then at 1130am.

If you are from the Philippines, you know that most domestic flights gets really delayed, not by an hour or two but sometimes even for 8 hours!!!! And so I was beginning to think that we might have made the wrong decision of booking my flight in the morning of when we should do the ritual. I expressed this concern to BM and she said to just pray and trust that everything will be smooth.

The day before my flight I thought of requesting my flight be rebooked for that night to I can come a day ahead and stay there for the night, but I realized that this is financially impractical because it will end up causing more than the original price, it will look like that two tickets were bought. Again, BM said let’s just pray and be positive. Of course, it was awkward that a reader should remind me of this because always tell my readers that being positive is always the first line of defense in Feng Shui.

On the day of my flight on the car going to the airport, I decided to hold my Vajrapani Ruel and I kept on chanting OM VAJRAPANI HUM. Whenever, I’ll chant 108 times, I’ll say a short prayer to Bodhisattva Vajrapani to help make it to Davao on time. When I get to the airport, I saw that the first Cebu Pac flight to Davao was delayed. And so I told the ground steward to just put me in the first flight, which was delayed because I really need to be in Davao by 7am. However, I was told that the first flight is fully booked and I cannot be accommodated. And so I continued to chant OM VAJRAPANI HUM while holding my Vajrapani Ruel. At the same time, relying on BM’s prayers that I will make it on time.

To my surprise, my flight was on time, and in fact we left Manila ahead of the first flight to Davao. And so I made it on time to Davao.

And we were able to push through with the ritual without a hitch.

Nevertheless, I still need to come back to Manila. Although I no longer have appointments that evening, I still need to want to fly back to Manila on time because I badly need rest and I still have a meeting the following day. But of course, I was not very hopeful that I’d get lucky. But guess what? My flight was on time on the dot. So I thought that Cebu Pacific flights are now on time. So I told that flight attendant that it’s good that flights now are on time because my morning flight and evening flight are both on time. The flight attendant smiled and replied in Filipino, “You just got lucky because delays are still really bad!”

No I did not get lucky, two flights in a day cannot be about luck, it was the power of BM’s prayers and the power of my prayers to Vajrapani Bodhisattva while holding the Vajrapani Ruel that made my flight fly on time and for everything to go smoothly that day.

Syria’s Gas Attack: A Disgrace to Humanity!

Published Abril 5, 2017 by jptan2012

Today the world is shocked as images of Syria’s gas attack was broadcast. There is simply no words that will aptly described the horror that this attack created. It is a disgrace to all humanity that such an act happened. We all have to do something about it, even if that something is simply to share the horror of it or just to say a short prayer for those who have suffered, are suffering, will be suffering to this senseless war!

For Buddhists please chant the following mantra for those who are suffering in Syria:

NAMO AMITUOFO!

TADYATHA OM BHEKANDZYE BHEKANDZYE MAHA BHEKANDZYE RADZA SAMUGATE SOHA

OM MANI PADME HUM

OM VAJRAPANI HUM

OM AH HUM HO HAM KSHAMALA VARAYA HUM PHAT

Myth Buster 43: Incense Smoke Brings Our Prayers to Heaven

Published Nobyembre 17, 2016 by jptan2012

When I was in still elementary and going to a Christian school, my Christian teacher told us that when Buddhist (collectively referring to Taoist and Buddhist) pray they light an incense because the incense smoke brings the prayer the wishes to heaven. Of course, given that she is our teacher, a lot of us believe this. and later on I found out that this is a very common beliefs amongst non – Taoist or non – Buddhist, but more than that this is also a common belief amongst Taoist and Buddhist as well.

There is no truth to that belief. When we chant – a – mantra, or recite – a – sutra, or even pray, we don’t need to light incense for the Buddhas or Bodhisattvas to hear our prayer. In fact, the sutra says even before we say our heart’s wishes or desires, the Buddhas and the Bodhisattvas already know them. We only light incense as an offering to the Buddhas or Bodhisattvas or Taoist Gods.

In Feng Shui A Little Common Sense Will Help Appease Our Worries!

Published Agosto 2, 2016 by jptan2012

Several months ago somebody called me who is quite frantic, because her prayer bead or mantra bead or mala broke while she was using it. She was really scared that this is an omen of extreme bad luck. In the same manner, I was reminded of another call that happened a few years back, a friend called me because his citrine with nine – eyed DZI bracelet broke just when he was about to take it off. He became worried also that this is also an omen of financial bad luck.

But you see the lady who called me about the broken mala has been using her mala for more than 10 years already. And the guy has had his citrine beads with nine – eyed DZI bracelet for almost 2 years, and he takes it off and wears it everyday. So you see, common sense dictates that there is no omen. It is really just bound to happen because of wear and tear.

Nevertheless, I cannot blame them from panicking, because a lot of Feng Shui writers will attribute such occurrence as an omen. And in some way, they may be correct, but this is where common sense should come in.

If you have been using your mala for more than 10 years it is bound to break, maybe earlier if the quality of the string used is not so good. Beaded bracelet needs to be replaced every year because the garterized thread or nylon thread used in those bead bracelets if stretched everyday will only last about a year, sometimes even shorter if you live in a hot weather and if the quality is bad. So you see, they are bound to break, and not every breakage is a sign of bad omen.

When should you worry, if the incident of the breakage is somewhat can’t be explained. Like a 2 – week old mala breaking off, or a bracelet breaking off without an apparent reason, that’s when it should be considered as a bad omen. What should you do if this happened? Consult a Feng Shui or if one is not available, take a sea salt or rock salt bath to help take away the negative energy.

Call On Your Heavenly Guardians!

Published Mayo 26, 2016 by jptan2012

Today, allow me to give you a short post on how to call on your heavenly guardians when you need help.

If you are feeling everything is going wrong, or when you’re in a compromising situation, you can call on your heavenly guardians.

How?

Just calm yourself a little, close your eyes, then put you palms together and visualize that a white light shines down upon you. And then imagine a light blue light shines from the top of your head going towards the sky, then just say a little prayer.

“Heavenly Beings (3x)! By the mercy and power of the most compassionate Kuan Yin Bodhisattva (also spelled as Kwan Yin, Guan Yin, Gwan Yin) please help me now!”

Then say OM MANI PADME HUM 7X!

In reality, you call on Kuan Yin here and HE (SHE) together with some heavenly beings will ensure to ease up your situation.

Myth Buster 40: The Ashes of a Black Cat Will Enable You to See & Fight Demons!

Published Mayo 18, 2016 by jptan2012

black catIt’s been quite some time since I wrote about an article under the MYTH BUSTER category. But today, allow me share a pervasive myth amongst the local of Siquijor (a province in the Philippines known for witchcraft and stories of Manananggal or local vampires). In a trip to Siquijor a few months back, some people told me that I will never see a pure black cat in Siquijor because the albularyos (local shamans) hunts the black cat, kill them, then burn it and use the ash in looking for demons and fighting them. I was quite surprised and told my guide to hook me up with an albularyo who practices this because I would surely love to understand more about this practice.

Some of my friends who are with me warned me not to talk to the albularyos because I might get hexed or bewitched. I was pretty confident that it wouldn’t happen because I have my Kalachakra Pendant and more importantly I have my Vajrapani Ruel and Surangama Mantra Amulet.

I was lucky enough to meet two elderly albularyos who absolutely forbid me to take their photo because they believe that their soul might be captured by the camera or photo (I will discuss this in succeeding posts). Anyway, they told me that this is a known way to best see and fight a demon, but it is a practice that is quite difficult to do. At the end, they said that they have tried it, however, they don’t know the actual ritual thus are unable to do it.

I got really curious about this practice and decided to do more research about it. I found out that ancient Hebrews also believes in this practice. Now the question is there truth to this?

The variables present as was shared with me are they only need of the ashes of black cat and some prayer. If I’m going to base it on this alone, I think this is more of a myth. Why? Because an ash has no chi. It is literally without energy thus it can be used into a spiritual object or amulet. In fact, Buddhist prefers to be cremated because in that case they won’t have to worry as to where to put the ash. Once a person has been cremated, one will not need to worry about the Feng Shui of the burial site because the ashes have no chi.

Devastating Feng Shui Blunder Didn’t Affect the People Living in the Said House: A Story of A Good Person with Good Karma!

Published Oktubre 22, 2015 by jptan2012

Slanted Ceiling.

Several exposed beams.

A wooden sculpture of “The Last Supper”.

Window by the headboard of the bed.

These are just some of the Feng Shui blunders that this house in Davao has. When I first look at the pictures of the said house, all I can say is that whoever lived in that house should have extreme bad luck. Sent the said pictures to my Feng Shui teacher in Hong Kong and he also said the same thing. Whoever lived in that house had or is having a bad life. In fact, what he said was ‘extremely’ bad life.

But here is the clincher. I know who lives in the said house. She is happily married, she has two obedient and intelligent children, she is financially stable if not well – off, she has several businesses are doing quite well, she owns several more properties both here and in Davao. So how is it that we’re wrong in our interpretation. I know the person so I was not that surprised, not as surprised as my Feng Shui teacher.

Remember BM? Talked about her in the post entitled – UNEXPECTED HIGH SALES ATTRIBUTED TO THE SURANGAMA MANTRA AMULET – and – WHAT’S EVEN MORE POWERFUL OR IMPORTANT THAN FENG SHUI OR AN AMULET? – the house belongs to her.

You see this will be a very long post if I have to talk all about her good deeds but needless to say I think her being compassionate, self – less, and generous person has prevented them to experience all the bad effects of the Feng Shui blunders of her house. Furthermore, when I talked to her about how being a good person had given her good karma that is strong enough to protect them from the most damaging effects of the Feng Shui blunders of her house, she would always demure and clarify that it is her parents that are really the kindest. And I’m sure that her parents good karma has also benefited them so it is also but fitting to give them the credit. But BM’s brother is not as lucky, and I hope BM doesn’t hate me for saying this because maybe he is not as good hearted as BM. He might have broken off the link of good karma and BM might have inherited all of it. Now people who are around BM benefits as well!

So remember that it is not all about Feng Shui or amulets. Next time that you see an extremely bad Feng Shui blunder remember…

A wholehearted donation to the church or temple…

A selfless prayer for somebody else…

A simple donation to the beggar…

Send somebody to school if you can…

Be kind…

Be generous…

Be thoughtful…

Be compassionate…

…these are Feng Shui cures or amulets as well. I know because BM is the living proof !
