Using the Auralite As A Medium to Transfer Protective Energies

Published Marso 4, 2015 by jptan2012

One of the perks of traveling and or living in a country where traffic is really bad is that a blogger like me can write blog articles. This and several of the succeeding articles are all written either at the airport or in a traffic and are bring posted via the automatic schedule posting.

Aside from being a very effective wealth enhancer the Vajrapani Ruel is also a very powerful protective amulet, and as mentioned in the previous testimonies like the very first Vajrapani Ruel stories, it is believed that it was used by the 17th Karmapa in his escape from Tibet to India. However, the real truth is that not everybody can afford to get the Vajrapani Ruel, also there are people who does not believe in Feng Shui or Buddhism or Taoism, and you might want to still send them protective energies.

The Vajrapani Ruel looks simple, maybe even rustic, but this simple amulet is packed with a special talisman paper inside, with various ingredients, which includes Namtso Salt, soil, various herbs and plants, crystal, and a relic from a high lama. It's important to put the ruel inside a amulet holder or something sturdy as to not ruin it. If the cloth had tear which exposes or spill the ingredients inside, the ruel becomes useless.

Today, I would like to share a simple protective ritual that was recently shared with me by my Feng Shui teacher.auralite2

If you think a person is in danger, all you have to do is chant the Amitabha Buddha Mantra (OM AMI DEWA HRIH), followed by the Mantra of the Bodhisattva of Compassion, Kuan Yin (OM MANI PADME HUM), Mantra of Medicine Buddha (TADYATHA OM BHEKANDZYE BHEKANDZYE MAHA BHEKANDZYE RADZA SAMUGATE SOHA), chanting of the name of Kuan Kong (NAMO SANGHARAMA BODHISATTVA), with Mantra of Namgyalma (OM BHRUM SOHA OM AMARITA AYUR DADI SOHA). All of these should be recited 108x or more if possible. While reciting imagine a white light coming out of your mouth, going toward the base of the Auralite (which should be placed between you and a picture of the person being protected) and then the light going out of the pointed end of the Auralite, and then the light directly going to the picture of the person.

The Auralite will help enhance the protective energies.

I personally didn’t know that there are a lot of uses for the Auralite and for that I’ll always be thankful to Atty. B for giving one to me as a gift.

Please note that I don’t sell Auralite. It is usually found in stores that sell crystals.

The Holy Trinity of Protection: 2015 Year of the Wood Sheep Essential Cures

Published Disyembre 30, 2014 by jptan2012

Every year people ask me as to what is the essential charm of the year. The direct answer to this is that will largely depend on your Chinese animal zodiac, for example, if you’re born in the year of the Sheep, Monkey, Horse, Ox you definitely had to guard yourself against Tai Suey (Tai Sui) because you are either directly or on side affliction with the Tai Suey. Those born under the year of the Rooster should definitely have the 5 – Element Pagoda because you’re afflicted with the 5 – Yellow Star, for your reference I suggest that you read my earlier posts about the forecast for the 2015 year of the Wood Sheep.

Although I have said this before, I guess it is worth repeating here, the #3 Flying Star, which is also known as the Argumentative Star this years flies to the center. This means the ruling star of the year is the #3 Flying Star and it is bound to make all things a more heated. The ruling star is the prevailing energy of the year, and that means it dictates the possible most common occurrence of the year. However, the destructive pillar in the year’s Bazi or Paht Chee chart shows that the wood element is destroying the earth element, together with the position of the 24 Mountain Stars further strengthen this Argumentative Star. Thus for the year the #3 Flying Star is stronger than usual.

Some of its effects are that there would be an increase of quarrel. It can be a misunderstanding or a fight between husband and wife, parents and children, sibling against sibling, relatives against relatives, and neighbors against neighbors. It can also be a fight against your boss, clients, or it may even be from a stranger. The arguments can lead to bigger things like separation, legal cases, or depending on your luck, it might even lead physical harm or violent death!

Because of the strength of this star this year I highly recommend that everyone should have on display at his or her home and office and worn as a pendant what I call the Holy Trinity of Protection for this coming 2015, which is the Year of the Wood Sheep.

The Holy Trinity of Protection are the following:

  • Kuan Yin with Heart Sutra. You can read my posts about Kuan Yin  to understand what is her significance, but simply put Kuan Yin is a Bodhisattva who bestows peace and harmony, amongst other possible blessings. I have written about it extensively in three different posts entitled – KUAN YIN: THE ONE WHO HEARS THE CRIES OF THE WORLD, followed by UNDERSTANDING MERCY AND COMPASSION: THE TRANSFORMATION OF AVALOKITESVARA TO KUAN YIN, and lastly PAYING HOMAGE TO KUAN YIN, THE BUDDHA OF COMPASSION. Meanwhile, having ‘The Heart of the Prajna Paramita Sutra’ otherwise known as Heart Sutra will further strengthen the harmonious energy. This is important because it is not only very important that we suppress the #3 Flying Star or Argumentative Star but it is also very imperative that we help push for harmony and peace. If you prefer to use a non – religious image, you can also display an apple, preferably real and make sure you change it before it rots. But with the Heart Sutra it might not be as effective. It might be a little difficult to get a pendant of Kuan Yin with the Heart Sutra, but separately carrying the sutra will work also.
This is an image of a Kuan Yin with the Heart Sutra.

Sometimes it can be quite difficult to get a Kuan Yin with Heart Sutra Pendant, and it can be quite expensive also. So simply wearing a Kuan Yin pendant and separately carrying the Heart Sutra printed really to make it an amulet (Sutra Amulet) will also work as well.

You can also just get the Sutra Amulet and put it at the foot of an image of Kuan Yin, if you are unable to get a Kuan Yin image with Sutra.

There are different kinds of Sutra Amulets. Look for one that has the Heart Sutra. They can be tied to your mala beads if you always carry your mala beads with you, or can be tied to your mobile phone or simply put in your pocket. Just make sure you don't seat on them!

  • Kuan Kong or Namo Sangharama Bodhisattva. Kuan Kong is a very famous War General when he was still alive. You can read my posts about Kuan Kong entitled – Kuan Kong and Namo Sangharama Bodhisattva. Wearing an image of Kuan Kong will help suppress and protect you from the direct effects of the #3 Flying Star, furthermore, Kuan Kong will help you be more diplomatic, so should you find yourself in a heated situation and walking away is really not an option, then tapping on Kuan Kong’s energy will help you talk your way out of the situation, you’ll find yourself being more diplomatic. Furthermore, Kuan Kong is a renowned strategist, so having his image will also help you become more strategic thus helping you get out of a heated situation, if not totally preventing it. In choosing a Kuan Kong, it is better if you look at the face; the fierce nice face is the key for a nice Kuan Kong. The fiercer it is the better. It is also better if you wear a Kuan Kong either in yellow gold or a red stone or for house or office a Kuan Kong with a red face. If you don’t want to use Kuan Kong, you can also use the Ksitigarbha Fireball, but remember this will only help suppress the star but not help you become more diplomatic.Kuan Kong23
Always look at the face of the Kuan Kong pendant that you're getting for yourself. The 'braver' the face the better.

  • Kalachakra. A Kalachakra is a ten – fold symbolic script of a very powerful ten – syllable protective mantra. The Kalachakra will help protect you from the peripheral effects of the unusually stronger #3 Flying Star. The effects of the Argumentative Star might not directly affect you yourself, however, the people around you may not be protected, and you might be indirectly affected. One clear example of this base on a real story. A client’s brother (VA) had a tragic incident that lead to his death, the sad thing about it he was actually an innocent party. He and some of his friends decided to meet for dinner. One of his friends (LM), while on his way to pick VA up, got into a fight with another driver. They had a heated argument on the road, but LM decided to just ‘walk away’ and drove off and ignores the other driver. Little did he know that he was followed. The other driver followed him to VA’s house where VA was waiting for him outside of his house. When LM was nearing the house, the other driver took who happened to have a gun took a shot a LM, he missed but LM lost control of his car, and bumped into VA. VA died approximately two weeks after the accident. This is an example of a peripheral effect. I’m not saying that this is what’s going to happen, but it can be something similar or maybe not as bad, but whatever it is it is better to stay protected.
The Kalachakra symbol is one of the most powerful protection symbol in Buddhism. It actually consists of ten syllable mantra, with it symbolic script condensed into one. The mantra itself is HO HAM KSHAMALA VARAYA HUM PHAT. However, the mantra of the Kalachakra is never chanted without the mantra OM AH HUM. Making the complete mantra of Kalachakra - OM AH HUM HO HAM KSHAMALA VARAYA HUM PHAT. This is the reason why I decided to put the symbolic script of the mantra OM AH HUM on top of the Kalachakra symbol. As mentioned this is a very powerful protection symbol and can be likened to the Scapular of the Catholics. In fact, you'll seldom see a Tibetan Monk with wearing the symbol of the Kalachakra on their body. It may be hidden but most likely they have it somewhere on their body. But you'll never see them have the symbolic scripts tattooed because it is considered extremely bad luck to have a mantra tattooed on your body.

Leaving the Country with the Help of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas!

Published Disyembre 29, 2014 by jptan2012

My passport is expiring in 4 months, and there is a strict international immigration policy that says that no one is allowed to leave with a passport with less than 6 months validity. I know about this policy but was not really aware that my passport is expiring, for the simple reason that I don’t have the habit of checking it’s expiration date, and I figured my travel agent would inform me anyway if it’s time for me to renew my passport. As it turn out, I was wrong.passport

My flight was at 8:30AM and I had to be at the airport at around 5:30AM. I noticed that my passport is already expiring at around 12 midnight! I quickly googled whether what should I do, and there are numerous stories that says it’s impossible to leave if your passport has less than 6 months validity.

I know my chance of leaving was kind of bleak; especially they made special mention that Singapore Airlines is one of the strictest amongst all the airlines in implementing this. Apparently, its not just immigration one had to deal with, the airlines are the first to ‘police’ and block you from leaving if your passport is less than 6 months valid.

I decided to chant the mantras of Shakyamuni Buddha (OM MUNI MUNI MAHA MUNI YE SOHA), Amitabha Buddha (OM AMI DEWA HRIH), and Medicine Buddha (TADYATHA OM BHEKANDZYE BHEKANDZYE MAHA BHEKANDZYE RADZA SAMUGATE SOHA) only because they are the three major Buddhas. Then I started chanting the mantra of Kuan Yin (OM MANI PADME HUM), Kuan Kong (NAMO CHIA LAN PUSA), and Guru Rinpoche (OM AH HUM VAJRA GURU PADME SIDDHI HUM). I would repeat it several times and spin the prayer wheel whenever possible. From time to time I also would chant the mantras of Goddess Tara (OM TARE TUTTARE TURE SOHA) and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva (OM AH KSITIGARBHA THALENG HUM). After continuously doing it for about two hours, I decided to do an oracle to check whether I’ll be able to leave or not. The oracle showed that I would be able to leave with some slight problems.

After the oracle I decided to take an hour’s worth of sleep. Was not able to get a wink!

On the way to the airport, I kept on spinning my Guru Rinpoche prayer wheel and alternately I would chant the Buddhist name of Kuan Yin and Kuan Kong, which are Namo Ta Pei Kuan Shi Yin Pusa and Namo Chia Lan Pusa or Namo Sangharama Bodhisattva, and then I’ll pray to them to let me be able to leave.

All Prayer Wheels almost looks the same. The difference will come from what prayers or mantras are inside the prayer wheel. So when I say its a Guru Rinpoche prayer wheel that would mean that the mantra or prayer inside is that of Guru Rinpoche.

As expected at the Singapore Airlines check – in counter they told me that my passport has less than 6 months validity, they also pointed out that to be more specific it is only about 4 months valid, and because of that they won’t be able to issue me a boarding pass. Surprisingly, there were two other people whose passport is also less than 6 months valid. One of them still has 5 months validity. We were all told that we couldn’t leave because it will be simply a waste of time because chances are we won’t be allowed to enter Singapore. I pleaded my case and the duty manager came to talk with me. After carefully explaining that even if they allow me to board the plane there is no guarantee that the Philippine immigration will allow me to leave and much more Singapore immigration will ‘most definitely not allow anyone with a passport that has less than 6 months validity to enter their country’, and after telling me that flights from Singapore to Manila are fully booked because of the holidays and that rebooking in this instances are not allowed so I’ll have to book a new flight back to Manila should I not be allowed to enter Singapore, and that I have to agree to sign a waiver that they will not be held responsible for any inconvenience, they agreed to issue me a boarding pass! The other two passengers with less than 6 months valid passport decided not to risk it and decided to cancel their trip.

At the immigration, I was again told by the immigration that my passport is about to expire. The lady immigration officer discouraged me from leaving, and warned me that I will most definitely will be send back. I told her to please allow me to take that risk. That’s when she allowed me to leave! First two hurdles surpassed! But the real test is at Singapore immigration, because everybody says that they are quite strict.

On the plane on my flight going to Singapore, I never once stopped spinning my Guru Rinpoche prayer wheel and alternately call on Kuan Yin and Kuan Kong to help me be able to enter Singapore. I also chanted the mantra of Shakyamuni Buddha, Amitabha Buddha, Medicine Buddha, Green Tara and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, once each. Of course, it helps that I was wearing an image of Kuan Kong and Kuan Yin with Heart Sutra as pendant because it gives me a leverage by empowering with negotiating with diplomacy and at the same time without creating animosity by ensuring there is harmony.

When we got to the immigration, I was again told quite sternly that my passport is less than 6 months valid. I proceeded to explain my side, siting that I travel a lot and should not pose any immigration problems. The immigration said – I DON’T CARE ABOUT YOUR PAST. WHAT I’M CONCERNED WITH IS NOW! – When she said this I thought I really wouldn’t be allowed to enter Singapore, and I decided to raise the fact that I have already booked my exit flight already! She took a look at the e-ticket on my iPad, and told me that – THIS IS THE LAST TIME YOU’RE ALLOWED TO USE YOUR PASSPORT FOR INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL! – And with that I was allowed to get through Singapore immigration. What a relief!!!

I firmly believe that it was the power of calling on Kuan Yin, Kuan Kong, and chanting the mantras of the different Buddhas and Bodhisattvas with the power of the prayer wheel of Guru Rinpoche that really made it possible for me to go through immigration!

Namo Sangharama Bodhisattva: A Bodhisattva that Protects, Grants Wealth Blessings, Protects Marital Relationships and is Better Known as Kuan Kong

Published Nobyembre 18, 2014 by jptan2012

kuan kong 3The first time I wrote about Kuan Kong was last February 15, 2012. Since then I have not written much about him except for a few mention in some blog articles and about the boy who is believed to have been saved by Kuan Kong from his death when Typhoon Yolanda (with international name Haiyan) hit the Philippines.

After almost 2 years, I am once again writing about Him because I feel that not to write about Him more is a great injustice to Kuan Kong (also called or spelled as Guan Gong, Guan Yu, Kuan Yu, Kwan Kong, Kwan Ti, Kuan Ti, Guan Ti, or Guan Sheng Di Jun).

Guan Yu as he is known as a person died in 220, but his date of birth is unknown. He actually served as a general with Liu Bei, as Eastern Han Dynasty warlord. It must be noted that although they’re called warlords it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re evil; we have to understand that during those time it is the norm.

Guan Yu is one of the best-known Chinese historical figures throughout East Asia that has slowly taken on the world. As mentioned in my last post about Guan Yu or Kuan Kong, the web is a treasure trove of stories about his life. However, I don’t think anyone alive now can actually say for certain what are the most accurate facts and what are the embellishments because people by nature loves to romanticized a person they admire or idolized. However, please be assured that in the bits and pieces of his life that I will share here in this post I will share with you what are the stories that historically proven and accepted. In the absence of that ‘confirmation’, it doesn’t mean that it didn’t happen, but it only means that it may be not very accurate or that it is widely accepted but may be argued by some historians. kuan kong 2

What is not arguable here is Guan Yu is so much loved and so much respected that he is the only person who became a deity or Bodhisattva in three of the major oldest religion in China. Although there has been a lot of crossovers between Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, like Kuan Yin being a high goddess in Taoism, and giving rise to the unofficial religion called Chinese Buddhism, Guan Yu or Kuan Kong or Guan Gong, is the only historically human being who became a significant deity or lord in Taoism, a significant Bodhisattva in Buddhism, and a significant god in Confucianism.  Not to mention that he is also a prominent figure in Chinese folk religion.

Guan Yu is known for being a very good general. In fact, he won most of his wars with as little bloodshed as possible. He doesn’t believe in killing all the enemies. When he wins a war he will not take unnecessary prisoners, so the prisoners that he takes are only the high officials and he would always treat them with utmost humanity. Those soldiers who yield to him are given the choice to join his troops or leave and go home to their family. His wars always has a cause and he will only resort to go to war only if he is absolutely sure in his heart that the war will in the end will serve greater good and is only the last resort. This kind of attitude runs akin to the Buddhist teaching that states one cannot judge the means but one can only judge what’s inside the heart of a person. I hope this will not be taken out – of – context, but in a simplistic point of view, what it means is that at the end some means might be seemingly evil or bad but in the end it is the deepest intent of the heart of the person whether the act is really evil or not. I would like to expound on this teaching a little further and leave Guan Yu’s story for a while in the next paragraph.

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama once shared a story. A guy went on a trip via a ship. While he was onboard the ship he came across a plot by two men to plant a bomb on the ship and kill all the people onboard as an act of terrorism. The man went to inform the captain, but after some reluctant investigation, for they didn’t believe him, it was said that there was no plot at all. Still he did his best to make people believe him, however, nobody believed him. He was totally left in despair as to how to save the people on board. As the time of doom arrives he decided to confront the two terrorists, his first approach was to talk them out of what they plan to do, but because the terrorists perceived that he is a threat to what they have set out to do they manhandled him, brought him to their cabin to either bound him there or kill him. All throughout the man never feared for his life but he feared for the life of the hundreds of people onboard the ship. He knows that he has to do something otherwise all the people on the ship will perish, but he also knows that it is not only the people onboard the ship that will perish but their family will also grieve for them. He was left with no choice and although he knows what he needs to do is wrong, in the end he was left with no choice but to fight the two terrorists and hurt them enough to restrain them. In the process, he accidentally killed both terrorists. There is another version of the story that says he also died with them, an act of suicide that also killed the other terrorist. Whatever the version of the ending the message is quite clear. Killing and suicide are both considered graved sin one that causes eons of negative karma, but the man was reborn as a high lama that is because according to the Dalai Lama, while the act itself alone is pure evil, the deepest intent, meaning deep in his heart, it was not simply to kill the two men, but to save hundreds of live and prevent several more the pain of grief. Superficially speaking this is a Buddhist concept that can be easily abused. But let us always remember that in the end it is not our fellowmen’s judgment that we must be wary of but our own deep conscience and that of karma.

kuan kong 4Going back to Guan Yu, one of the most famous verified story about him was when he took a hit from an arrow. It was a poisoned arrow and the doctor needs to clean his wound right to the bone. He wants to administer a strong alcohol (medicinal wine) to Guan Yu so that he won’t feel the pain, or at the very least he will be able to tolerate the pain as he would open and clean it down to the bone. Guan Yu refused to take the alcohol because he believes taking the alcohol will totally cloud his mind. Please note that at this point he is already showing some signs that his belief are leaning towards Buddhism. For if he were purely Taoist, it would have been fine for him to drink the medicinal wine even if it clouds his mind. For Buddhism, medicinal wine are allowed as long as it doesn’t cloud your mind so much that you are unable to control it. What happen next are two different versions of the story. One version states that he didn’t take the wine but instead went into deep meditation by concentrating on a single matter and in his case he choose to play Chinese chess with himself, and that he totally didn’t feel any pain, even if the doctor was scraping his wound down to the bone to make sure there are no poison left. The other version is that he felt the pain but still bravely faces it rather than cloud his mind with the effects of medicinal wine. Personally, I’m unable to make a decision, which is true, because if he is a practicing Taoist or Buddhist, and if his practice is really deep already, being ‘operated’ without pain relievers, in his case medicinal wine is not impossible. But the point of importance here, is that he already showed signs of refusing wine for the reason that he doesn’t want to cloud his mind, which is a Buddhist teaching. I raise this point because it is later on very important part of his life for him to be accepted as a Bodhisattva in Buddhism. This is important because historians are not clear as to what his religious belief was.

Guan Yu is a celebrated war general, and he always wins a war until towards the end of his life. He was part of the ruling dynasty, but towards the end he notice that his leader is becoming selfish and goes to war not because it is the last resort but he simply wants to conquer more lands and wealth. He decided to break away and vowed to protect the weak. He became a minority, and it is said that in the last war he went to he already knew that he and his troops are going to be betrayed and that he will die, he figured this out when an oracle was done, something that is usually done during his time. They usually consult either a Taoist oracle or a Buddhist oracle to determine whether they should go to war. The oracle showed that he will lose the war and that he will die, but he has to go to this war for a long term good. So he went to war and true enough he and his family and closest friends were betrayed and they were captured.

His ‘archenemy’ who used to be his leader has great respect for him that he refused to kill Guan Yu, something that was totally unacceptable during those times. Not killing Guan Yu is a sign of great weakness and will render him a coward and a lame leader. To avoid killing Guan Yu and simply make him a prisoner for life he has show the people is of poor moral and a scum that needs to suffer imprisonment for the rest of his life.

As a ploy he decided to put Guan Yu in a cell full of women. Unverified stories states that Guan Yu was put amongst the wives and daughter of his friends. But Guan Yun didn’t give in to carnal desires instead he made sure that he became protector of said women. Seeing that this ploy didn’t worked. Guan Yu was then transferred to a better prison and he was imprisoned with naked virgin courtesans and was given permission to deflower them, still Guan Yu didn’t give in to carnal desire, instead he took time out too teach them to read. At the end, he was reluctantly sent to his death. kuna kong

Verified reports states that several weeks before his death, his consciousness would always appear to a monk. And he would ask him to read different sutras so that he will reach enlightenment. This is an important factor in the story and is largely the reason why he became a Bodhisattva. The question is whether his Bodhisattvahood was largely due to a testimony of a single monk? The answer is no, because while the testimony of this monk was the one that is largely popular, there are other numerous both verified and unverified reports that says that before his death his consciousness would appear to different monks to ask for a sutra reading. Also, all these monks so a vision that Guan Yu received enlightenment. In fact, some of these testimonies where not found out until the death of some the monks who saw these visions, for they were never shared but written in their testimonies or orally shared to their students or disciples.

In my last post, I already made mention of the fact that Kuan Kong or Sangharama Bodhisattva is a wealth god and a protector, however, what most people don’t know is, and I myself has temporarily forgotten about this is that he is also a Bodhisattva that helps safeguard marital relationships. This is because in his lifetime, Guan Yu, exhibited extreme loyalty and faithfulness to his wife. He never took on a concubine, or visited courtesan houses, although it was a norm during his time.

kuan kong pendantTo honor and pay homage to Sangharama Bodhisattva, it is highly recommended for you to get his image. Please choose the one that has a beautiful fierce face. Wearing a pendant of his image is also highly recommended. I myself decided to get more Kuan Kong pendant, and of course, Kuan Kong or Sangharama Bodhisattva is one of the Bodhisattva that I featured in my Wish Fulfilling and Buddha’s Blessing Mantra Pendant.
