Chant – A – Mantra (2): When You Need Compassion, Wisdom, and Power!

Published Hulyo 6, 2016 by jptan2012

A few months back, a reader who happens to be the CEO of one of a big company called me up because he is having some concerns. He said his company is in a crisis because the investor and the board of directors are not very happy on how he is running is company. They felt that the people of the company views him as a weak leader, and he himself has admitted that he is torn in becoming a stricter leader and a compassionate boss. However, being nice to the people of his company made them abuse him. Thus department heads and directors tend to do as they own thing. His position is in danger because of a possible hostile take over.

He is really worried because truth be told he is the one who put up the company, and to expand he has accepted investors who became part of the board. While he remains to be the majority stockholder, two shareholders sharing their share will overtake his share. And this is what his two brothers are planning to do, merge their share so that they can take the company from him.

To summarize his problem, he said he needs his investors and board of directors to be more compassionate to their employees, but at the same time, he said he needs enough ‘power’ to be able to bring his company back to it’s former glory, but at the same time wisdom to do it properly.

When I looked at his office I saw that there are some changes that has to be done, but he said he cannot do it immediately and while he got the Vajrapani Ruel, which is a very powerful amulet, we both felt that chanting some mantras will help.

I told him to chant the following mantras:

  1. MANTRA OF THE BODHISATTVA OF COMPASSION, KUAN YIN: OM MANI PADME HUM

    kuan Yin3 white

    Bodhisattva Kuan Yin

  2. MANTRA OF THE BODHISATTVA OF WISDOM, MANJUSHRI: OM A RA PA CHA NA DHIH.

    manjushri_buddhist_god_of_wisdom_eq03

Manjushri is a disciple of Sakyamuni Buddha. He is also a great Bodhisattva and is called Bodhisattva Manjushri.

  3. MANTRA OF THE BODHISATTVA OF POWER, VAJRAPANI: OM VAJRAPANI HUM

    vajrapani-6

Namo Vajrapani Bodhisattva / Bodhisattva Vajrapani

I will have to clarify that all Bodhisattvas embodies all these traits: Compassion, Wisdom, and Power. However, there are some traits that are more prominent in some because of the vows that a Bodhisattva made. Everybody who chants the mantra of Kuan Yin (also spelled as Guan Yin or Kwan Yin or Gwan Yin) would know that this is one of the most powerful mantra one can chant. But I thought letting him chant each of these mantra so that these traits that he needs for himself and for his company should become more enhanced.

He would chant the said mantra under deep meditation every morning, and all throughout the day, when he find himself idle (like when he is on the elevator or walking or stuck in traffic) he would alternately chant these mantras.

Several months after, he called me up to tell me that the Vajrapani Ruel and chanting the mantras created harmony and a more compassionate board and at the same time he felt he has made a more powerful and correct decisions to steer the company back to its older glory without ‘harming’ anybody.

Sutra & Mantra Retreat and Vajrapani Empowerment Ritual!

Published Nobyembre 4, 2015 by jptan2012

I have always believe in the power of chanting mantras and reciting / reading sutras. When people get in touch with me asking for the Vajrapani Ruel and because they can’t afford it or its not available at the time of request, I always tell them to chant some mantras or recite some sutras because these are very powerful tools or rituals that can help us surpass our problems. In fact, regular readers of this blog will see some personal testimonies of readers who simply chanted some mantras and were able to get their wishes.

That is why I’m very happy to announce that my Guru Lama is coming to the Philippines early next year to do a two – day Sutra and Mantra retreat and one day Vajrapani Empowerment Ritual. What’s even better is that the retreat and the Vajrapani Empowerment Ritual are going to be absolutely free!

I can’t clearly express as to what are the benefits of chanting a mantra and reciting a sutra because the wonderful blessings that one can get from them if properly done is simply enormous. It has the power to heal the sick, turn bad luck into good luck, create some wealth and financial luck. If these things are done for our recently departed relatives, it may give them a chance to be reborn with a good life.

The Sutra and Mantra retreat is going to be for 2 days from 6:30AM to 2:30AM straight! It seems quite tiring, but the truth is it’s not and if one is in the middle of it you’ll feel that 8 hours is simply nothing. Nevertheless, we’ll have 5 minutes bathroom break every hour or every hour ninety minutes, depending on the mantra and sutra being chanted or recited. On the first two days, which is the Sutra and Mantra retreat, we will be chanting and reciting different mantras and sutra for 8 hours each day straight! Well…almost straight!

On the third day, my Guru Lama is going to conduct a Vajrapani Empowerment Ritual or Puja.

What is an empowerment ritual or puja?

An empowerment ritual or puja is a ritual that is headed by a certified Lama that invokes the power of a Buddha or Bodhisattva or Deity. This is to request blessings and protection from the Buddha or Bodhisattva or Deity being invocated. This kind of ritual is rarely done in the Philippines and one needs a highly ordained monk or lama to be able to do this. For this particular empowerment ritual, we are invocating Vajrapani Bodhisattva, to get to know more about Vajrapani Bodhisattva please read my post called – THE WORLD’S MOST POWERFUL AMULET IN THE BUDDHIST PANTHEON CALLED VAJRAPANI RUEL.

Vajrapani Bodhisattva is primarily a protective bodhisattva but as you see in the various testimonials of people who has requested for the Vajrapani Ruel, a lot of these involve other things which is other than simply protection. For you to know more about these miracles you read some of the stories you can find below.

I will announce the exact date and time and location of the Sutra and Mantra Retreat and the Vajrapani Empowerment Ritual once we have finalized the details but this is confirmed and will happen soon after Chinese New Year of 2016.

As mentioned these events are absolutely free of charge. A reader who has experienced a Vajrapani Ruel miracle has committed to sponsor the vegetarian lunch (although it is going to be served after the retreat which is after 2:30pm). The vegetarian lunch is going to be cooked by Buddhist nun and volunteers of the host temple. Please note that although this is free we encourage you to bring some fruits as an offering to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. We will also encourage you to give a Sangha Offering, which is customary for every Buddhist ritual. A Sangha Offering is done by giving you a red envelope and you can put any amount inside the envelope, which you will then offer on the altar. The money inside can be as low as twenty – five centavos and nobody will know the amount that you will put because it will be then passed on to the host temple without being opened. We do this because the host temple will have some expenses by hosting us that goes to electricity, water, incense, and manpower.

As early as now I will also like to say that during these events no late comers will be allowed to join, and we will start promptly using the Philippine Standard Time as our official time. Should you feel that the even is taxing and tedious we suggest you leave during one of the bathroom breaks, but once you leave you will not be allowed to enter again. This is because in events like this we have to be very conscious that you don’t disturb the presiding lama and the participant. Phones are also going to be collected for safekeeping. No phones and/or any gadgets are allowed inside the ceremony hall to preserve the solemnity of the hall and the retreat or ritual.

I’m sure a lot of you will be asking as to what are the Sutras and Mantras that we are going to recite and chant. Please see the list below in no particular order.

For the Sutras:

Guardian Buddha Base on the Animal Zodiac

Published Enero 16, 2012 by jptan2012

Very much similar to the patron saints of Catholics. The Buddhist has Patron Buddha or Bodhisattva base on the animal zodiac.

Depending on your animal sign you have a corresponding Guardian Buddha. It is said that you, base on your animal zodiac, has an immediate affinity with your Guardian Buddha.

Praying to your Guardian Buddha and or chanting their mantra brings you protection and blessings.

AVALOKITESVARA si the Guardian Buddha of people born under the sign of the RAT.

Avalokitesvara is one of the most revered Bodhisattva. He is popularly known as Kuan Yin in Chinese Buddhism and as Cannon in Japanese Buddhism. Avalokistesvara is also known as the Buddha of Compassion, although, as mentioned He is actually not a Buddha but rather a Bodhisattva.

The mantra of Avalokitesvara is OM MANI PADME HUM.

Avalokitesvara, the Bodhisattva of Compansion

Avalokitesvara's femaie manifestation is popularly known as Kuan Yin in China. Kuan Yin means 'The One Who Hears the Cries of the World'.

Avalokitesvara or Kuan Yin is known as Cannon in Japan. Notice that even though the image looks feminine, the breast is exposed and its flat signifying a breast of a man. This is to signify that Kuan Yin has no gender.

AKASAGARBHA is the Guardian Buddha of people born under the sign of the OX and TIGER.

Akasagarbha Buddha is also known as the ‘Boundless Space Treasury’ Buddha. He is sometimes considered as twin brother of Ksitigarbha Buddha. He is a Buddha who bestows wisdom through enlightenment.

The mantra of Akasagarbha is OM VAJRA RATNA TRAH SOHA.

Akasagarbha is not a Buddha but a Bodhisattva.

MANJUSHRI is the Guardian Buddha of people born under the sign of the RABBIT.

Manjushri is the Bodhisattva of wisdom and awareness associated with spiritual studies or pursuits. He also brings education and marriage luck.

The mantra of Manjushri is OM A RA PA CHA NA DIH.

Manjushri is a disciple of Sakyamuni Buddha. He is also a great Bodhisattva.

SAMANTABHADRA is the Guardian Buddha of people born under the sign of the DRAGON and SNAKE.

Samantabhadra is perhaps one of the most misinterpreted and un-identified Bodhisattva in Chinese Buddhism. While he is highly revered in Tibetan. In China, his female manifestation is often thought of as Kuan Yin. However, Samantabhadra is easily identified because He/She usually seats a top an Elephant. Samantbhadra together with fellow Bodhisattva Manjushri is a disciple of the Buddha Sakyamuni. If Manjushri is known as the Bodhisattva of Wisdom, Samantabhadra is known as the Bodhisattva of Truth.

The mantra of Samantabhadra is OM AH HUM AH A KAR SA LE OD A YANG OM DU

Bodhisattva Samantabhadra

MHASTHAMAPRAPTA  (pronounced with an A after the M. MA-HAS-THA-MA-PRAP-TA) is the Guardian Buddha of people born under the sign of the HORSE.

Mhasthamaprapta is also a misinterpreted Bodhisattva. In Chinese Buddhism He/She is usually mistaken as the Kuan Yin. Some think Mhasthamaprapta is a lesser Bodhisattva but He is actually one of the Eight Great Bodhisattva. Mhasthamaprapta aids an enlightenment of a person if they seek the Sutra of Infinite Light.

Unfortunately, I’m not well versed yet with the mantra of Mhasthamaprapta and is unable to share it here.

Mhastamaprapta is very hard to diffenrentiate from Kuan Yin. But the clue is how she holds the flower which is a lotus. Kuan Yin holds a willow. Also she's always on the right side of Amitabha Buddha. Kuan Yin is on the left side. Facing them Mhastamaprapta is on our left and Kuan Yin is on our right.

VAIROCANA is the Guardian Buddha of people born under the sign of the SHEEP and MONKEY.

Vairocana is a Celestial Buddha and is often interpreted as the Bliss Body of the Historical Buddha Gautama Buddha. He is a Buddha who grants wisdom and enlightenment.

The mantra of Vairocana is OM VAIROCANA HUM.

Buddha Vairocana

ACALA is the Guardian Buddha of people born under the sign of ROOSTER.

Acala is the principal destroyer of delusion and protector of Buddhism. Acala helps purifies negative karma and is a powerful Buddha for those who are in need of self control.

The mantra of Acala is NAMAH SAMANTA VAJRANAM CANDA MAHAROSANA SPHOTAYA HUM TRAT HAM MAM.

Acala Buddha. Notice how in Buddhism and Taoism there are gods whose images are wrathful and might seem 'demonic' to Christians and Westeners. But wratful gods are just representation of their protective powers and a lot of the wrathful gods are also good wealth gods.

AMITABHA is the Guardian Buddha of people born under the sign of the DOG and BOAR.

Amitabha is one of the most revered Buddhas. He is also called as the ‘Buddha of Infinite Light’. Amitabha greatly bestows blessings to those who earns good karma. He is also a powerful protector Buddha.

The mantra of Amitabha is OM AMI DEWA HRIH.

Amitabha Buddha
