It Was An Almost Goodbye…

I was absent for more than a month. Well, technically speaking for more than 2 months because the last 10 articles posted was written way before I actually stopped writing.

Most of you know about what happened to my mom and so I became really busy. But there are other things that happened that made me really busy. While I cannot write about everything here only because they are either quite very personal and thus will bore all of you to death, or they are really not related to Feng Shui, except for one other reason. And this is what I want to write about…

A lot of my forecast have been coming to fruition. Maybe foremost of them all is the continuing weakening of the peso, which I have been writing about for 2 years already. I mentioned that it will hit Php 54.00 but before that I said it will hit Php 52.00 to which it will “stabilize” for a while before becoming weaker again.

I also have written a lot about what direction the government of different countries will be going. And although I tried not to be blatant about my forecast for the Philippines, unlike what I did for my forecast for the USA, a lot of what I said is also coming to fruition.

Thus, there are some people accusing me of not being a responsible Feng Shui writer, they said that I’m trying to instill fear, and all this they said in a way that is totally unfriendly and in a way, that can’t be conveyed here. It’s ironic that same group of people belittled this blog but at the same time accused me of influencing Filipinos and inciting fear. I won’t be going into details here because it is not necessary to go into details about the people who belittles you but at the same time are scared of the thing that you write about.

Another reason why I have stopped writing for a while, is because I wanted to take a break. It is only natural that in a blog such as mine, my readers will naturally share their concerns with me. Admittedly, sometimes I get so involve that it does take a toll on me. It does affect me especially if the reader is somebody that has grown to be a friend already.

All these prompted me to want to stop writing. And regular readers of this post will know that there were times in the past that I want to stop blogging and that there are times that I will take an unofficial break from blogging. But I think this is the longest time that I didn’t write anything.

It was an almost goodbye for me not to write anything for 2 months. I wanted to see how will I feel and whether I’ll miss it. Truth be told, and please don’t hate me for being honest, I didn’t miss it. It’s nice to be quite away from it and so I told Guru Lama that I will stop the blog.

Guru Lama said that I have a responsible to my readers. I cannot just abandon my readers. And so, we agreed that I will gradually put an end to this blog. First, by informing you and by setting when I will end this blog. We’ve agreed that my last article will be the 1,000th article. This particular post is the 901st article. So, this blog ends after 99 more post. In a way, this is the beginning of the end of this blog.

In the next 99 articles, I will be even more purposeful in the articles I write. I will teach my readers to do their own Feng Shui, it will be quite basic because realistically speaking one can only teach basic things here. But I will teach readers how to calculate for the Flying Star, how to compute for your Kua number, and how to analyze your bazi chart. These are my parting gifts for you. I will also focus on the power of amulets so that you can get them while you can. The blog has been instrumental in sharing a lot of legitimate powerful amulets like the VAJRAPANI RUEL, ILLNESS SUPPRESSION AMULET, SURANGAMA MANTRA AMULET and some of them like the VAISRAVANA – DZAMBHALA WEALTH AMULET and the SPECIAL GOLD PIYAO has been copied, imitated and sold at ridiculously low prices but naturally it doesn’t come with the kind of energy that comes from being consecrated by high lamas like Guru Lama. I will also write about how to continue make these amulets powerful and effective for you. And so, the beginning to the end will be some sort of an empowerment thing. And thus, I hope the end is not a goodbye but rather a new journey, one that you no longer need the restriction of a crutch.

Receive Wonderful Blessings of Wealth, Peace, and Protection from the Four Dharmakaya Relic Mantras and Lama Atisha Combined Amulet (2): A Focus on Lama Atisha Amulet!

In my previous post, I introduced you the FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS, now allow me to introduce you to another very powerful Buddhist amulet called – LAMA ATISHA PROTECTION AMULET.

This is said to be one of the most powerful protection amulet in Buddhism. According to Lama Zopa Rinpoche, simply seeing or touching a copy of the said amulet will bring a person tremendous protection against physical harm.

It functions like that of the scapular for Catholics. If a person has this on his body at that time of his or her death, it is guaranteed that he or she will have a good rebirth and will be saved from the lower realms. If displayed inside the house or office, one will be saved from bad influences of other people and it will help create harmony. It is also very good to have this amulet if one is in the hospital, to protect a person from the yin chi of the hospital, and it will also prevent you from getting the attention of the lost souls. Thus, it is also a very good amulet to have to wear when one is going to a funeral or cemetery.

I don’t have a personal story or story that I heard first hand about the LAMA ATISHA PROTECTION AMULET, but one of the most popular story associated by the LAMA ATISHA PROTECTION AMULET, and is widely accepted by the different Buddhist traditions is a story that happened fairly recently. It was suppose to have happened to a young Tibetan man and his family.

As you all know, China has invaded Tibet and a lot of people they are either doing some ethnic cleansing or is slowly erasing the cultures and traditions of the Tibetan who are still in Tibet. The man’s name is Tenzin Choejor ( the truth is Tenzin is a fairly common Tibetan boy’s name because it means ‘holder of Buddhist doctrines’, and the current Dalai Lama’s name himself is Tenzin. I was told that Choezor is not a family name but it is a second name, which means Dharma Wealth. From the name of the man, it can be concluded that his parents are devout Buddhist, but this is not unique because most Tibetans are devout Buddhist.)

Tenzin Choejor’s family is one of the many Tibetans who’ve experienced oppression in Tibet. He was born after the 14th Dalai Lama has fled to Tibet to escape the Chinese oppression, so it can be said that he has never experienced true freedom. He has always long for to escape the Chinese oppression of Tibet but has not dared to do it because all his family are in Tibet. However, his perspective changed when he got married and started to have his own family.

It is said that Tenzin Choejor has planned to escape with his parents, but in a country ruled by oppression and where paranoia is really high, the government soon found out about his plan to escape. It is said that it was possible that another relative or a friend squealed on him. Like most Tibetans who plan to escape or oppose the Chinese government, he was tortured and separated from his family and was put to hard labor for several years. Upon his release, he find it hard to start a new life, because he was considered as an ‘ex-convict’ and even fellow Tibetans who took pity on him will not hire him because they’re afraid that they might earn the ire of the Chinese government. This is when he realized and decided that the only way for him to survive and take care of his family is if they escape Tibet. This time, however, Tenzin Choejor is more careful and he only confided to his father, who told him to ask for the blessing of his grandfather, his father’s uncle, for a blessing because it will be a long journey, a very difficult one, and if caught they might be killed on the spot or if they’re not caught they might die of freezing in the mountains. His father also cautioned him to think again of his plans because Tenzin Choejor’s children then aged 10 and 7 might not survive the trip. However, Tenzin Choejor knew that’s the only way for them to have a better life, and he thought it is better to risk their lives that forever live under the Chinese oppression.

Tenzin Choejor great uncle is one of the few monks left in Tibet who has personally met the Fourteenth Dalai Lama, and because he is monk in a place under Chinese rule, it is expected that he is very poor. So he has nothing to offer Tenzin Choejor but the blessing that Tenzin Choejor seeks from him. He performed some Buddhist protection ritual, which was improvised to adjust to their situation, but then took Tenzin Choejor aside to tell him that there is one thing that he would like to give Tenzin Choejor.

He told Tenzin Choejor that he believe that the only reason he was able to escape the Chinese’s physical oppression, unlike most monks, is because of an amulet that he has kept for a long time. He told Tenzin Choejor that he believes that the amulet is one of the reasons that he remained alive under the hands of the Chinese communist government. He then gave Tenzin Choejor a leather cloth where the image of LAMA ATISHA PROTECTION AMULET is printed. He told Tenzin Choejor that the amulet would keep his family safe. It is said that Tenzin Choejor initially refused to accept the amulet, but his great uncle insisted and told him that he has no need for the amulet because of his old age and that he is ready to part with his body.

Tenzin Choejor then proceeded to escape Tibet. It must be noted that after the initial exodus of Tibetans from Tibet, the Chinese communist government has intensified border security, making it harder for all Tibetan planning to go to exile to leave Tibet. There is no exact statistics as to how many people have been killed or captured and tortured just because the seek a better life. Tenzin Choejor armed with determination and faith in his ‘religion’ decided to set out on an escape with his wife and two young children.

On his way to India, Tenzin Choejor encountered several problems, but somehow they manage to get away with it. Among these two things are an encounter with a Chinese soldiers and a fight against nature.

First, on their escape, they literally came across some Chinese soldiers, and because of fatigue and coldness because of the freezing snow, he and his wife noticed them a little too late. They came across two drunken Chinese soldiers, and was almost apprehended, in fact, a gun was already pointed at them. Should the soldiers decided to shoot at them, the soldiers won’t get reprimanded because there is a standing order to shoot to kill all people who are trying to escape. Fearing for the life of his family, Tenzin Choejor used his body to block his wife and kids, and instinctively touched the LAMA ATISHA PROTECTION AMULET given to him by his great uncle and started to call on the Buddhas. According to their testimony, Tenzin Choejor’s wife didn’t know where he mustered her courage to talk to the soldiers.

Tenzin Choejor’s wife knows how to speak Chinese, being born and raised under the Chinese communist government; Chinese has been her second language. Tenzin Choejor knows the language also but because he grew up in the countryside he understands it better than he can speak. His wife on the other hand knows how to speak it but not fluently either. But she managed to address the soldiers and pretend that she is Chinese, and when asked why Tenzin Choejor’s himself doesn’t speak she told them that her husband is deaf – mute. There are many loopholes to her cover, like how can she explain their looks and what are they doing in the mountain, but because it was dark and maybe because the Chinese soldiers were drunk they let them go. Tenzin Choejor believes that it is because of LAMA ATISHA PROTECTION AMULET.

The second ordeal was when they were in the mountain, Tenzin Choejor’s second child got really ill. Without medicine all Tenzin Choejor and his wife can do are to call on the help of the Buddhas. Tenzin Choejor decided to take off the amulet and placed it on top of his son’s body. Needless to say, the son got healed.

After weeks of travelling in the mountain they finally got to the border of Tibet and India, where they plan to go in exile and seeks the Dalai Lama’s protection. But little did they know that India besieged by thousands and thousand of Tibetan exiles and without a place to put them has made it harder for Tibetans to go inside their country. Though they don’t understand each other, Tenzin Choejor understands the problem with their facial and body language. He started to touch the amulet again and hope for the best. Soon they were met by a Tibetan who took their story. Three days after they were put on a holding area, luckily with food, they were told that they could stay in India.

According to Tenzin Choejor, and these were acknowledge by the highest ranking lamas, it was because of the LAMA ATISHA PROTECTION AMULET that Tenzin Choejor and his family survived the ordeal.

But who is LAMA ATISHA?

For that allow me to share his story using Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s own words. The following was lifted from the archive of FPMT.

Having a little bit of understanding of the life story of Atisha is very beneficial for our mind, so we can try to understand the teaching he wrote. By understanding Atisha’s life story and how he practiced Dharma and achieved realizations, devotion arises and we can feel that his teaching is most precious and pure. 1

Actually it is a very long life story, and it is divided into three parts. In order to have some idea about the great bodhisattva Atisha and how he benefited sentient beings, there are stories about his birth, his home, his birthplace and his early life. The stories explain how he achieved great knowledge and realizations with that holy body. Then after achieving the knowledge and realizations of the path, he benefited the teachings and helped sentient beings— he led the disciples and sentient beings to happiness.

Atisha’s birthplace was in Bengal, India. He was born as a prince and his family was extremely wealthy. He was surrounded by servants and workers, and there were 100,000 people just in his palace. The palace had thirteen golden roofs and 25,000 golden banners on the top, and there were also many pools, like in the West. At the palace there were 25,000 pools and beautiful parks, gardens of beautiful flowers that people could enjoy, seven bridges, and special trees that only grow in India.

When Atisha was three, he became an expert in general education—in astrology, letters, the brahmas, these things. He also became expert in discriminating the inner and outer being, so his parents wanted him very badly to take the place of the king. They tried very hard, but after some time he left with 300 horses, disguised as an army going to fight.

Many people went into the forest with Atisha to seek the guru. He took many teachings on refuge and bodhicitta, and then the guru sent him home to check up and try to understand the suffering of life. This happened three times. He came back, the guru sent him to another guru, and that guru sent him home to check up on the shortcomings of worldly life. His parents tried very hard to have him marry and take the place of a king. They invited all the beautiful women of the country to a party, and let them all dance around, but it didn’t work.

Atisha explained, “ There is no difference for my mind between this palace and a prison. There is no difference between beautiful, expensive clothes and the torn cloth in the garbage. There is no difference between delicious food and dog meat and pus. There is no difference between princesses and mara women—devil women.” Why devil women? Because they transform into beautiful bodies and cheat us. His parents listened to him.

Atisha followed 157 gurus perfectly and received many teachings, initiations and Vajrayana teachings. Once, while he was at home, Tara, the female aspect of Buddha, instructed him in a dream not to be attached to the samsaric happiness of worldly life. After this, Atisha went to see his guru. Then one day, after receiving many initiations, he thought, “There is no Vajrayana teaching left that I don’t know. I have become the most learned.” He felt a little bit of pride. That night, he had a dream that many female dakinis— transformations of buddhas who have high realizations of tantra—showed him many Vajrayana texts that he had never seen before. This made him lose his feelings of pride.

Atisha wanted to receive Mahamudra realization in his lifetime, by living in Vajrayana conduct. One of his gurus, Rahula, suddenly realized with his psychic power that Atisha was thinking this. Without any resistance, Rahula appeared in front of Atisha and instructed him, “What are you doing, forgetting all the sentient beings by leaving them? Take ordination and do great work for the teachings. This will be greatly beneficial for the teachings.” So, Atisha took ordination when he was twenty-nine years old. He was persuaded to do so by his guru and also by the buddha’s female aspect, Tara, Guru Shakyamuni Buddha, Maitreya Buddha and many other buddhas and Vajrayana deities such as Heruka, in his dreams.

After some time, when he was going around the Bodhgaya stupa—the temple in India, the most holy place where Guru Shakyamuni Buddha received enlightenment— above the stupa, in space, he saw the transformation of a young woman asking an old woman a question. At that time Atisha was concerned with quickly receiving enlightenment, and in space the young woman was asking the old woman, “What path should we practice in order to quickly receive enlightenment?” The old woman said, “Train the mind in love and compassion, in bodhicitta.”

Again, when Atisha was going around the stupa, there were paintings on the walls that talked to each other. One painting asked the other what path we should follow to reach enlightenment quickly, and the other answered, “Train the mind in love and compassion, and bodhicitta.”

Again, when Atisha was going around near Nagarjuna’s caves, he saw the statues of Buddha communicating, saying, “Train the mind in love and the compassionate thought, bodhicitta.” There was one ivory statue, and it said, “Yogi, if you want to quickly receive enlightenment, train the mind in love and compassion, and the thought of bodhicitta.” Many statues spoke like this.

Atisha went to see Guru Serlingpa, and he spent about twelve years taking the complete teachings on bodhicitta. In the presence of Guru Serlingpa, he received the actual realization of bodhicitta. Then Lama Serlingpa predicted that he should go to Tibet, the northern snow land.

At that time, there was a lot of degeneration of the teachings in Tibet. The people did not know how to practice the teachings, and they were confused about the practice of sutra and tantra together. The king of Tibet, Lha Lama Yeshe Ö, sent twenty-one boys to India to study Dharma and all of them except two died from the heat. These two came back to Tibet and told the king that everyone was talking about Atisha, the pandit, and that they should invite him to Tibet to help. These two translators’ names were Rinchen Sangpo and Legshey.

As soon as Lha Lama Yeshe Ö, the king of Tibet, heard the name of Atisha, incredible devotion arose in his mind, and he decided to invite Atisha to Tibet. He sent many gold offerings to India to invite Atisha, but it didn’t work. Then afterwards, he went himself to find gold for Atisha, and he was captured and put in the prison by an irreligious king who didn’t want the spread of Dharma in Tibet.

King Lha Lama Yeshe Ö’s nephew, Jangchub Ö, came to see him in prison. The irreligious king told Jangchub Ö, “I won’t free your uncle until you find gold the size of his body.” So, Jangchub Ö found enough gold to reach up to his neck, but still the irreligious king was not satisfied. He said, “If you don’t bring gold the size of his head, I won’t let him be free from prison.” Again, Jangchub Ö went to his uncle, the king of Tibet, and explained all these things.

The imprisoned king of Tibet, Lha Lama Yeshe Ö, explained to his nephew that since a lot of gold was offered to the irreligious king and he was still not satisfied, Jangchub Ö should not offer this king even one handful of gold. King Lha Lama Yeshe Ö said he was now very old and did not have long to live, and it would be more beneficial for his nephew, Jangchub Ö, to take the gold. He said to Jangchub Ö, “I don’t care if I die in prison. Take all this gold and ask Atisha to come to Tibet and spread the Dharma.” Then the king sent a message to Atisha through his nephew, saying, “I gave up my life to invite you to Tibet. Please guide me with your compassion. What I have in my mind is only for you to come to Tibet and spread the teachings.”

The imprisoned king sent the message with Jangchub Ö with a suffering, frantic voice, and then he passed away in prison. His nephew sent a translator with many gold offerings to invite Atisha, but the kings and abbots of India wanted Atisha to stay there. Finally, Atisha received permission and he came secretly to Tibet and helped spread the Dharma there. According to his teachings, he wrote the Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment there.

Atisha spread the pure Mahayana teaching like the rising sun, and all conflict, ignorance, and wrong conceptions were destroyed. His text was translated into English by some Tibetan lamas and other translators. I am reading the translation of this teaching because it is extremely beneficial. It is so short. Atisha did great work and brought so much benefit to India and Tibet. In India he destroyed many followers of other religions, wrong paths and wrong conceptions. He did great work.

These days, many young people from the West have the chance to hear the teachings and to understand and practice these meditations on the gradual path to enlightenment. They can find satisfaction in their lives, and they can make their lives meaningful and happy. They integrate it in their own mind, and they understand that there is a chance to make their lives meaningful. All these things are due to the kindness of Atisha, the great bodhisattva.

This great bodhisattva, Atisha, lived in discipline, and had the realization of moral conduct. He kept the 253 precepts purely, and on the basis of that, the bodhisattva’s precepts, the moral conduct precepts and the Vajrayana precepts. He had unshakeable, firm, one-pointed concentration that could last for years—even if hundreds of rockets were flying nearby they couldn’t disturb or shake his meditation. He had perfect realization of shunyata, the absolute nature, and he achieved high tantric realizations, seeing himself in the form of deities.

Atisha had high tantric realization without projections, and he did not see ordinary places—we see an ordinary house built of mud or cement, an impure place, but Atisha had only pure projections and pure view, and he always saw the view of the mandala of the deities. He had high Vajrayana realizations and he was able to transform even kaka into nectar and poison into medicine.

We can meditate like this to increase devotion to Atisha’s teachings. We can do checking meditation according to that. We may find it difficult at the beginning of the subject, and it may take time to understand, but by checking and understanding more and more the various meditations and teachings, gradually it will become clear within our mind.

An Important Peek to the 2018 Year of the Earth Dog: Bleak Financial Forecast and Early Preparation is Key!

2018Regular readers of this blog will know that I don’t usually write my forecast until January, since lunar new years come in sometime late January or February or early March, but last year I wrote my forecast early because it was necessary, this year will be the same, I will write about the 2018 Year of the Earth Dog Forecast base on the Bazi Chart (Paht Chee Chart), Flying Stars Formula and 24 Mountain Star Formula quite early because 2018 is going to be a little quite challenging in term of money making or financial luck.

However, that forecast will be posted in the next few days, because I want to cross-reference my calculations and analysis with that of my Feng Shui teacher in Hong Kong and Guru Lama.

But as discussed with Guru Lama that it is important that I give you a ‘peek’ already of one important factor for 2018 because it is important that we must prepare for it.

This year the Bazi Chart is extremely lacking of the metal element. By extremely lacking I mean it’s totally devoid of the said element, and as fate would have it, the metal element this year represents financial luck or wealth luck or money luck. So it is easy to conclude here that moneymaking capabilities doesn’t look hopeful. Financial aspects will be quite challenging.

This is not surprising since all Feng Shui experts or masters has predicted that the last part of 2017 Lunar Year which run between November to January will have a conflicting energy as shown by the 2017 Bazi Chart or Paht Chee Chart. Financial and Wealth luck is also going to be quite limited already, and this will continue to 2018 as the chart indicates we don’t have the metal element which for 2018 represents wealth luck or financial luck or money luck.

In the past two preceding posts I already have talked about this. But let me reiterate some part more clearly and also add the aspect of the 2018 Paht Chee Chart.

What this means?

This means that earning money might be a little harder, especially those who are in the business. Stocks will not do well as well, and as we can see here in the Philippines, there is already an indication of this since the government itself has announced that there was a 95% decline in foreign investments. The worst we ever had in recent history. To some extent we faired better during the Cory Aquino regime even though it was besieged by numerous coup attempt, because the decline in foreign investment then was not that high. With all humility a 95% decline is not a decline but rather it means foreign investments has become almost non – existent. No country can survive without foreign investments.

To put it into context or proper analogy so that it is easier to understand, it is like a family in a house that is trying to be self – sufficient. Kids will be thought at home, with things that are only found at home, no buying of books outside. The parents will try to earn money from home without outside buyers. Electricity and water are produced at home with no outside help. Food our simply from their own backyard without allowing rain or sunshine to come in to grow the plants, or poultry are raised without buying feeds. Is that possible? Totally possible? One may survive a few months but how can one survive totally being isolated?

Aside from the Philippines, this is already happening, albeit to a lesser degree in countries, namely Malaysia, USA, UK, etc.

Technically everybody is affected, because if business owners are affected employees are definitely affected as well.

Furthermore, you might find yourself put in a situation wherein you will lose money either by spending it or by ‘losing’ it either thru carelessness or bad business deal. This November to 2018, it is best not to lend somebody money.

If there is any consolation, even there is no metal element ergo wealth luck / financial luck / money luck on the bazi chart of the 2018 Year of the Earth Dog, there is however a small sliver of hope that can be found in the hidden stems. Will discuss this further in the main forecast, but what does it mean for us.

It means those who are going into the 2018 Year of the Dog prepared will not suffer or experience this financial drought as much as other would. What preparedness means is being prepared both in practical manner or Feng Shui wise.

Practically speaking, it is best to ensure that your contracts are in place and that your client or business stakeholders won’t be able to rescind from it. This is what I did 2016 when my Feng Shui forecast is really bad; that before 2016 entered I made sure that my business will survive. Of course, this is not the only way to protect your business, if you have established good relationships with people, you will find people giving you leeway and or pushing you to help you maintain good business.

If you are an employee, and if you have been working hard and has been recognized your boss, you will find yourself having some kind of an edge over those who don’t work hard, or those who work hard but doesn’t make themselves recognized by the superiors.

Make sure also you review all business transactions carefully and that you study your investment thoroughly. It will also be good if you will spend your money wisely.

In Feng Shui it is important that you armed yourself with powerful wealth charms like the ingot or three – legged toad. Make sure these charms are made of gold.

It is also important for all of us, regardless of our bazi chart to wear more gold this year, yellow gold is better because we will also need the yang energy it provides. Furthermore, you can wear powerful Buddhist amulets. The following are what I highly recommend:

  1. VAISRAVANA – DZAMBHALA WEALTH AMULET is a powerful wealth amulet that I recently introduced on this blog. It is an amulet rediscovered by my Guru Lama about 20 years ago and has decided to make because he has foreseen this worldwide financial slump that is about to happen. Furthermore, this amulet is in a metal case, and we all need to have more metal in our body. You can read more about here by clicking on the link below at the end of the article.
  2. VAJRAPANI RUEL is another powerful amulet, perhaps the most powerful amulet in the Buddhist pantheon, although, it is first and foremost a protective amulet rather than a wealth amulet. However, it should be noted that a lot of people who has the Vajrapani Ruel has experienced superb wealth miracle / financial miracle / money miracle. Some almost instantly and some gradually.

Guru Lama is also releasing a SPECIAL GOLD PIYAO (also spelled as Pi Yao, Pi Xiu, Pixiu, Pi Xie, Pixie). A Piyao is quite common, but as I always say it is best to get the one with an active stance and not the one lying down or relax stance, this is specially true for 2018 Year of the Earth Dog.

A Piyao or Pixiu or Pi Xie is a celestial animal known for its protective qualities when facing the Tai Suey. This celestial animal that is part of the Three Celestial Guardian is a great ‘peace’ offering to the Tai Suey or Grand Duke Jupiter. However, more than just as an offering it is a very powerful wealth accumulator.

As mentioned, the Pi Yao or Pi Xie is a mystical creature that is particularly powerful and auspicious. It is said to have a voracious appetite that is infinite. The interesting part is that the Pi Yao does not have an anus, which means things only go in but never come out. On top of that, the Piyao as directed by the Jade Emperor (who is the highest God in Taoism but is a powerful heavenly being in the Buddhism) is only able to eat gold and silver. It is therefore a favorite must-have for businessmen and merchants who want money to come in and not spill out a dime. It is no wonder that Pi Yao can often be seen in banks, casinos, foreign exchange markets and finance companies in Oriental countries. I mentioned earlier that traditionally, a Piyao is not an animal meant to be worshipped, but, in countries like Thailand and Cambodia, people worship the Pi Yao and offer incense and flowers within business premises. Having said this, if your Piyao is made of natural crystal its okay to light an incense in front of your Piyao not to worship it but to cleanse it from a negative ‘energies’.

Regular readers of this blog knows that even if the bazi chart of the year doesn’t lack wealth luck, I still firmly believes in the power of the Pi Yao or Pi Xie or Pi Xiu. But on 2018 Year of the Earth Dog and the coming years, starting this last quarter of the 2017 lunar year, the Pi Yao plays an important role for everybody. It is one of the Holy Trinity for the year, the will ultimately play an important role for one’s security in wealth luck / financial luck / money luck.

People who personally know me might have seen the jade Pi Yao that I regularly wear on my wrist with my citrine bracelet. However, this year I will upgrade it to the Special Gold Piyao released by Guru Lama.

There are a lot of Piyao in the market, but what makes this special?

This is specially designed by Guru Lama so that it best represents and embody the wealth acquiring abilities and also fight the negative energies of the remaining lunar months of 2017 and also the lack of money making energies of 2018.

But on top of that, the gold used in making the said Piyao are gold from the offering of the Sangha members to the temple.

Buddhist would offer money, food, flowers, oil, incense to an image, but a lot of them especially those are in grave situations will also offer gems and gold. It can be a gold necklace, gold bracelet, gold rings, or gold earrings, but it is not surprising to see even real miniature or small gold bars or gold coins. These gold offerings are recorded for proper auditing and then put in a special container under the foot of either the image of Sakyamuni Buddha (Sakyamuni Buddha), Medicine Buddha, Amitabha Buddha, Dipankara Buddha (Dipamkara Buddha), Bodhisattva Kuan Yin (also spelled as Kuan Shi Yin, Guan Yin, Guan Shi Yin, Quan Yin, Quan Shi Yin, Avalokitesvara, Kannon, Chenrezig), Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva (Earth Store Bodhisattva / Di Zhang Wang Pu Sa) or Vajrapani Bodhisattva. They are just there for years, and whenever the Bhiksu (Monks) or Bhiksuni (Buddhist nuns) with the higher lamas chant mantras or recite sutras or perform pujas, the said jewelries or gold offerings are blessed as well. Then once in a while they open one of these containers to melt the gold to make an image of a Buddha or Bodhisattva or makes gold flakes out of it so that when we invite an amulets, they can ‘sell’ these gold to make said images of Buddhas or Bodhisattvas or make images under our name. This becomes a way for them to raise funds to make more images or temple or food for the monks especially the student monks and also for their food.

So you see, because they stay under an image for years, and they get the power from the chanting of mantras, reciting of sutras, or pujas from the Bhiksus, Bhiksunis or the high lamas like Guru Lama, these gold items becomes really blessed. And this is what Guru Lama has used to make the said Special Gold Piyaos.

But simply wearing a Piyao or the Special Gold Piyao is not enough. You need to ensure that the element that produces metal is constantly present in your life as well. Thus the Special Gold Piyao is strung along with some crystals. However, this is where it becomes personalized because the crystal or semi – precious stone while largely earth element that will harness the growth of metal, should also be dependent on the element that best represents your own wealth luck. So for some it will be citrine, some will be amethyst (like me), some may have jade or aventurine, some may have clear quartz or a moonstone, and some may have lapis lazuli or tourmaline or onyx.

As mentioned the Special Gold Piyao will play an important role and is one of the Holy Trinity must have amulets of the year. However, having this Special Gold Piyao for the rest of your life will also prove to be a powerful tool to continue to harness wealth luck / financial luck / money luck and also serves a great protection charm. Furthermore, if you find yourself confronted by Tai Suey or the Grand Duke Jupiter, it also serves as great ‘offering’.

But aside from the above mentioned charms and amulets. It will also be good if one can chant everyday under deep meditation a full mala of the mantras of King Vaisravana and the Five Dzambhalas (also spelled as Dzambala, Jambala, Jambhala, Zambhala, Zambala). The Forecasted Financial Crisis of 2016 And What We Can Do About It!

Late last year I made some predictions base on the analysis of the year’s (2016) Bazi Chart / Paht Chee Chart. One of the more significant predictions that I had was when I said that we might experience some financial crisis or the start of a financial crisis. The truth, I made another prediction but I would rather not discuss the other one because of it may be deemed controversial but I did write about it.

Anyway, as I said I mentioned in that forecasted financial crisis seems to be happening now. Stock is it at lowest in 7 years, with the longest streak of fall in recent history. On top of that, foreign investors or businesses are already pulling out with the President of Europe Chamber of Commerce saying that they are already pulling out of the country. Add to that that for the longest time the dollar has hit above Php 49.00 again.

Is there a reason for worry? As of now, I don’t think we should go on a panic, it definitely won’t do anything. Let’s still put our hope and trust on the government and believe that they know what they are doing. Nevertheless, it is wise to exercise prudence in spending money and also in making investments.

Feng Shui wise wearing the 9 – Eyed DZI Bead with Citrine and Pi Xiu (Pi Yao, Piyao, Pixiu, Pi Xie, Pixie) is essential. Also, displaying the 3 – Legged Toads might help.

To help deflect or minimize the effect of energy of financial problem, it is highly recommended that you carry the following Buddhist items or symbols or images that serves as an amulet – Vajrapani Ruel and / or the Kalachakra Pendant made in Gold. To gain more wisdom in managing things, especially financial matters, and to put you ahead of possible hostile competitors, wearing the image of Sakyamuni Buddha (also spelled as Shakyamuni Buddha) is highly recommended.

Chanting the following mantras are also highly recommended:

  • OM MUNI MUNI MAHA MUNI YE SOHA
  • OM MANI PADME HUM
  • OM VAJRAPANI HUM
  • OM AH HUM HO HAM KSHAMALA VARAYA HUM PHAT

Furthermore, wearing the image of Bodhisattva Sangharama or other Wealth Deity Yellow Dzambhala is also highly recommended. But for this type of financial crisis, I believe one of the most effective wealth enhancing deity is Ji Gong, though not very famous wealth god called Ji Gong or Che Kong (濟公). At the end of the day, I rally that we support the positive things that the government is doing. Realize that the government’s success should be our success also. However, we should also exercise wisdom, after all, the government is run by people who like us may be prone to errors also. So let us support but we should also let our voice be heard if you think the government is pursuing the wrong path. But in voicing our belief, first we must truly seek to understand where the government is coming from and never ever be divisive. We can have different opinions but remain in harmony.

And for a more universal cure to this concern, let us always light an incense and recite the following sutras for our government and for our world:

Myth Buster 18: You’ll Have Bad Luck If Your Chinese Animal Zodiac is the Opposing Ruling Animal Zodiac of the Year

The husband of DU, my friend and reader, asked DU whether he’ll have a difficult year in 2015 because he was born under the sign of the Ox, and for those who are familiar with Feng Shui they know that Ox in the Chinese Animal Zodiac chart is right across the Sheep, which makes the Ox an ‘opposing’ sign of the Sheep.

The animal adjacent to your particular animal sign is usually considered as the opposing sign. This is usually because you have character traits that are totally opposite each other. It'll be harder for you to get along. However, I believe that relationships are work on so I personally don't subscribe to this so much, but I do acknowledge that it can be a little bit harder. However, the belief that you are going to be bad luck if your sign is the opposing sign really stems out from the Chinese government's meddling with Feng Shui practice.

This is a very common misconception, which stems out from two factors. One, although I always say that relationships are worked on, the truth is its more difficult for people with opposing sign to get along harmoniously. They have to work on the relationship harder. For example, Ox is going to be more difficult to get along with a Sheep, a Rat with a Horse, and Pig with a Snake, so on and so forth. Please refer to the image. So taking this into consideration a lot of people believe that if you have an opposing sign you’ll naturally have a bad year ahead of you. However, this is not always the case. In fact, my own analysis for the year shows that for this year, most Ox born people will still have a good year ahead of them. You can read my previous posts about the forecast for the year.


 


 

The second factor why this belief came about is because of the communism of China. Mao ZeDong and his successors like Deng XiaoPing, strictly banned the use of Feng Shui, in fact, Feng Shui masters and/or experts are sent to hard labor. But, belief in Feng Shui is ingrained amongst Chinese, so like Buddhism and Taoism, the Chinese government was unable to totally repress it. So when the government realized that they couldn’t eradicate Feng Shui in people’s lives, they decided to control it instead.

It is said that although officially he has banned Feng Shui, Mao Zedong himself has continuously employ the services of Feng Shui masters for himself and for top government officials. This practice has been followed by Deng Xiaoping and up to the present leaders of China.

Communist China did to Feng Shui what they did to religion. They can’t take away Buddhism, Taoism, and Catholicism is the country so they controlled it instead. Most of you know about the religions in China having the official and unofficial version. Depending on whom you ask, the Chinese government believes that they have the official version, and the official religions whose leaders are mostly abroad to avoid being kidnapped by the government and put into forced ‘vacation’, are considered the unofficial version. But elsewhere, outside Mainland China, obviously the official version is the Church ‘controlled’ (for the lack of term) religion, and the unofficial is the Chinese government controlled religion. The control is so strict that the government names their own bishops or archbishops, and in the case of Tibetan Buddhism they kidnapped the real Panchen Lama and installed their own Panchen Lama. The 11th Panchen Lama was kidnapped last May 17, 1995 together with his whole family. Nobody has seen them since and the Chinese government has installed a fake 11th Panchen Lama!

Going back to Feng Shui, although the government doesn’t allow Feng Shui experts or masters to continue doing Feng Shui, it is said that they continue to practice Feng Shui under strict control of the Chinese government. They’re only allowed to do Feng Shui for high-ranking officials of the government. As a result a lot of them sneak out and practiced Feng Shui in Hong Kong and Taiwan. For the general public, the Chinese government then gave licenses for ‘illegitimate’ Feng Shui masters to do Feng Shui for the people. Thus a lot of Feng Shui misconception has arise from these government – controlled Feng Shui masters.

A lot these government – controlled Feng Shui masters knows only some very basic rules about Feng Shui, thus they will say that if the ruling animal sign is your opposing sign then you’ll have bad luck, and they were also the ones who said that North is really bad.

They may be considered correct if that’s the only thing you should consider, but Feng Shui is not a simple formula of opposing and friendly signs, because Feng Shui is about animal signs, bazi/Paht Chee, elemental formula, 8 trigrams formula, flying stars, 24 mountains, Ho – Tu, auxiliary stars, and a lot more. All these formula should not be taken as a stand alone, they should be a combination and their relation to each other should be considered!

It’s true that if your sign is the opposing sign of the ruling sign of the year, in this case for 2015 the Ox is the opposing sign of the Sheep, and if you only consider that formula then the sure answer is you’ll have a bad year. However, I remember the FM radio DJ, Chico Garcia, saying on radio once that he was told that he will have a bad year because his sign is a conflicting (opposing) sign of the year but then Chico Garcia said it turn out to be one of the best year of his life. Why? Because that’s not the only thing that should be considered. You have to consider all the other formulas; all the other factors that’s need to be considered.

Dou Mu Yuan Jun or Goddess of the North Star is a powerful Deity to counter the effects of Tai Suey. She is said to be the creator of all the Tai Suey Gods does has the power to rule or control over them.

Of course, you have to remember but if you’re sign is the opposing sign of the year, then you’ll definitely face the God of the Year or Tai Sui (also spelled as Tai Suey) or Grand Duke Jupiter. This is easily addressed by wearing or carrying an image of a Piyao (also spelled as Pi Yao, Pi Xiu, Pixiu) that will help appease the Tai Suey. Wearing an image of the Goddess of the North Star or Dou Mu Yuan Jun is also a very effective cure because she is the mother of all the Tai Sui Gods and is said to be the only one who can subdue them.

In my previous post, I introduced you the FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS, now allow me to introduce you to another very powerful Buddhist amulet called – LAMA ATISHA PROTECTION AMULET.

This is said to be one of the most powerful protection amulet in Buddhism. According to Lama Zopa Rinpoche, simply seeing or touching a copy of the said amulet will bring a person tremendous protection against physical harm.

It functions like that of the scapular for Catholics. If a person has this on his body at that time of his or her death, it is guaranteed that he or she will have a good rebirth and will be saved from the lower realms. If displayed inside the house or office, one will be saved from bad influences of other people and it will help create harmony. It is also very good to have this amulet if one is in the hospital, to protect a person from the yin chi of the hospital, and it will also prevent you from getting the attention of the lost souls. Thus, it is also a very good amulet to have to wear when one is going to a funeral or cemetery.

I don’t have a personal story or story that I heard first hand about the LAMA ATISHA PROTECTION AMULET, but one of the most popular story associated by the LAMA ATISHA PROTECTION AMULET, and is widely accepted by the different Buddhist traditions is a story that happened fairly recently. It was suppose to have happened to a young Tibetan man and his family.

As you all know, China has invaded Tibet and a lot of people they are either doing some ethnic cleansing or is slowly erasing the cultures and traditions of the Tibetan who are still in Tibet. The man’s name is Tenzin Choejor ( the truth is Tenzin is a fairly common Tibetan boy’s name because it means ‘holder of Buddhist doctrines’, and the current Dalai Lama’s name himself is Tenzin. I was told that Choezor is not a family name but it is a second name, which means Dharma Wealth. From the name of the man, it can be concluded that his parents are devout Buddhist, but this is not unique because most Tibetans are devout Buddhist.)

Tenzin Choejor’s family is one of the many Tibetans who’ve experienced oppression in Tibet. He was born after the 14th Dalai Lama has fled to Tibet to escape the Chinese oppression, so it can be said that he has never experienced true freedom. He has always long for to escape the Chinese oppression of Tibet but has not dared to do it because all his family are in Tibet. However, his perspective changed when he got married and started to have his own family.

It is said that Tenzin Choejor has planned to escape with his parents, but in a country ruled by oppression and where paranoia is really high, the government soon found out about his plan to escape. It is said that it was possible that another relative or a friend squealed on him. Like most Tibetans who plan to escape or oppose the Chinese government, he was tortured and separated from his family and was put to hard labor for several years. Upon his release, he find it hard to start a new life, because he was considered as an ‘ex-convict’ and even fellow Tibetans who took pity on him will not hire him because they’re afraid that they might earn the ire of the Chinese government. This is when he realized and decided that the only way for him to survive and take care of his family is if they escape Tibet. This time, however, Tenzin Choejor is more careful and he only confided to his father, who told him to ask for the blessing of his grandfather, his father’s uncle, for a blessing because it will be a long journey, a very difficult one, and if caught they might be killed on the spot or if they’re not caught they might die of freezing in the mountains. His father also cautioned him to think again of his plans because Tenzin Choejor’s children then aged 10 and 7 might not survive the trip. However, Tenzin Choejor knew that’s the only way for them to have a better life, and he thought it is better to risk their lives that forever live under the Chinese oppression.

Tenzin Choejor great uncle is one of the few monks left in Tibet who has personally met the Fourteenth Dalai Lama, and because he is monk in a place under Chinese rule, it is expected that he is very poor. So he has nothing to offer Tenzin Choejor but the blessing that Tenzin Choejor seeks from him. He performed some Buddhist protection ritual, which was improvised to adjust to their situation, but then took Tenzin Choejor aside to tell him that there is one thing that he would like to give Tenzin Choejor.

He told Tenzin Choejor that he believe that the only reason he was able to escape the Chinese’s physical oppression, unlike most monks, is because of an amulet that he has kept for a long time. He told Tenzin Choejor that he believes that the amulet is one of the reasons that he remained alive under the hands of the Chinese communist government. He then gave Tenzin Choejor a leather cloth where the image of LAMA ATISHA PROTECTION AMULET is printed. He told Tenzin Choejor that the amulet would keep his family safe. It is said that Tenzin Choejor initially refused to accept the amulet, but his great uncle insisted and told him that he has no need for the amulet because of his old age and that he is ready to part with his body.

Tenzin Choejor then proceeded to escape Tibet. It must be noted that after the initial exodus of Tibetans from Tibet, the Chinese communist government has intensified border security, making it harder for all Tibetan planning to go to exile to leave Tibet. There is no exact statistics as to how many people have been killed or captured and tortured just because the seek a better life. Tenzin Choejor armed with determination and faith in his ‘religion’ decided to set out on an escape with his wife and two young children.

lamaatishaprotectionamulet3On his way to India, Tenzin Choejor encountered several problems, but somehow they manage to get away with it. Among these two things are an encounter with a Chinese soldiers and a fight against nature.

First, on their escape, they literally came across some Chinese soldiers, and because of fatigue and coldness because of the freezing snow, he and his wife noticed them a little too late. They came across two drunken Chinese soldiers, and was almost apprehended, in fact, a gun was already pointed at them. Should the soldiers decided to shoot at them, the soldiers won’t get reprimanded because there is a standing order to shoot to kill all people who are trying to escape. Fearing for the life of his family, Tenzin Choejor used his body to block his wife and kids, and instinctively touched the LAMA ATISHA PROTECTION AMULET given to him by his great uncle and started to call on the Buddhas. According to their testimony, Tenzin Choejor’s wife didn’t know where he mustered her courage to talk to the soldiers.

Tenzin Choejor’s wife knows how to speak Chinese, being born and raised under the Chinese communist government; Chinese has been her second language. Tenzin Choejor knows the language also but because he grew up in the countryside he understands it better than he can speak. His wife on the other hand knows how to speak it but not fluently either. But she managed to address the soldiers and pretend that she is Chinese, and when asked why Tenzin Choejor’s himself doesn’t speak she told them that her husband is deaf – mute. There are many loopholes to her cover, like how can she explain their looks and what are they doing in the mountain, but because it was dark and maybe because the Chinese soldiers were drunk they let them go. Tenzin Choejor believes that it is because of LAMA ATISHA PROTECTION AMULET.

The second ordeal was when they were in the mountain, Tenzin Choejor’s second child got really ill. Without medicine all Tenzin Choejor and his wife can do are to call on the help of the Buddhas. Tenzin Choejor decided to take off the amulet and placed it on top of his son’s body. Needless to say, the son got healed.

After weeks of travelling in the mountain they finally got to the border of Tibet and India, where they plan to go in exile and seeks the Dalai Lama’s protection. But little did they know that India besieged by thousands and thousand of Tibetan exiles and without a place to put them has made it harder for Tibetans to go inside their country. Though they don’t understand each other, Tenzin Choejor understands the problem with their facial and body language. He started to touch the amulet again and hope for the best. Soon they were met by a Tibetan who took their story. Three days after they were put on a holding area, luckily with food, they were told that they could stay in India.

According to Tenzin Choejor, and these were acknowledge by the highest ranking lamas, it was because of the LAMA ATISHA PROTECTION AMULET that Tenzin Choejor and his family survived the ordeal.

But who is LAMA ATISHA?

For that allow me to share his story using Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s own words. The following was lifted from the archive of FPMT.

Having a little bit of understanding of the life story of Atisha is very beneficial for our mind, so we can try to understand the teaching he wrote. By understanding Atisha’s life story and how he practiced Dharma and achieved realizations, devotion arises and we can feel that his teaching is most precious and pure. 1

Actually it is a very long life story, and it is divided into three parts. In order to have some idea about the great bodhisattva Atisha and how he benefited sentient beings, there are stories about his birth, his home, his birthplace and his early life. The stories explain how he achieved great knowledge and realizations with that holy body. Then after achieving the knowledge and realizations of the path, he benefited the teachings and helped sentient beings— he led the disciples and sentient beings to happiness.

Atisha’s birthplace was in Bengal, India. He was born as a prince and his family was extremely wealthy. He was surrounded by servants and workers, and there were 100,000 people just in his palace. The palace had thirteen golden roofs and 25,000 golden banners on the top, and there were also many pools, like in the West. At the palace there were 25,000 pools and beautiful parks, gardens of beautiful flowers that people could enjoy, seven bridges, and special trees that only grow in India.

When Atisha was three, he became an expert in general education—in astrology, letters, the brahmas, these things. He also became expert in discriminating the inner and outer being, so his parents wanted him very badly to take the place of the king. They tried very hard, but after some time he left with 300 horses, disguised as an army going to fight.

Many people went into the forest with Atisha to seek the guru. He took many teachings on refuge and bodhicitta, and then the guru sent him home to check up and try to understand the suffering of life. This happened three times. He came back, the guru sent him to another guru, and that guru sent him home to check up on the shortcomings of worldly life. His parents tried very hard to have him marry and take the place of a king. They invited all the beautiful women of the country to a party, and let them all dance around, but it didn’t work.

Atisha explained, “ There is no difference for my mind between this palace and a prison. There is no difference between beautiful, expensive clothes and the torn cloth in the garbage. There is no difference between delicious food and dog meat and pus. There is no difference between princesses and mara women—devil women.” Why devil women? Because they transform into beautiful bodies and cheat us. His parents listened to him.

Atisha followed 157 gurus perfectly and received many teachings, initiations and Vajrayana teachings. Once, while he was at home, Tara, the female aspect of Buddha, instructed him in a dream not to be attached to the samsaric happiness of worldly life. After this, Atisha went to see his guru. Then one day, after receiving many initiations, he thought, “There is no Vajrayana teaching left that I don’t know. I have become the most learned.” He felt a little bit of pride. That night, he had a dream that many female dakinis— transformations of buddhas who have high realizations of tantra—showed him many Vajrayana texts that he had never seen before. This made him lose his feelings of pride.

Atisha wanted to receive Mahamudra realization in his lifetime, by living in Vajrayana conduct. One of his gurus, Rahula, suddenly realized with his psychic power that Atisha was thinking this. Without any resistance, Rahula appeared in front of Atisha and instructed him, “What are you doing, forgetting all the sentient beings by leaving them? Take ordination and do great work for the teachings. This will be greatly beneficial for the teachings.” So, Atisha took ordination when he was twenty-nine years old. He was persuaded to do so by his guru and also by the buddha’s female aspect, Tara, Guru Shakyamuni Buddha, Maitreya Buddha and many other buddhas and Vajrayana deities such as Heruka, in his dreams.

After some time, when he was going around the Bodhgaya stupa—the temple in India, the most holy place where Guru Shakyamuni Buddha received enlightenment— above the stupa, in space, he saw the transformation of a young woman asking an old woman a question. At that time Atisha was concerned with quickly receiving enlightenment, and in space the young woman was asking the old woman, “What path should we practice in order to quickly receive enlightenment?” The old woman said, “Train the mind in love and compassion, in bodhicitta.”

Again, when Atisha was going around the stupa, there were paintings on the walls that talked to each other. One painting asked the other what path we should follow to reach enlightenment quickly, and the other answered, “Train the mind in love and compassion, and bodhicitta.”

Again, when Atisha was going around near Nagarjuna’s caves, he saw the statues of Buddha communicating, saying, “Train the mind in love and the compassionate thought, bodhicitta.” There was one ivory statue, and it said, “Yogi, if you want to quickly receive enlightenment, train the mind in love and compassion, and the thought of bodhicitta.” Many statues spoke like this.

Atisha went to see Guru Serlingpa, and he spent about twelve years taking the complete teachings on bodhicitta. In the presence of Guru Serlingpa, he received the actual realization of bodhicitta. Then Lama Serlingpa predicted that he should go to Tibet, the northern snow land.

At that time, there was a lot of degeneration of the teachings in Tibet. The people did not know how to practice the teachings, and they were confused about the practice of sutra and tantra together. The king of Tibet, Lha Lama Yeshe Ö, sent twenty-one boys to India to study Dharma and all of them except two died from the heat. These two came back to Tibet and told the king that everyone was talking about Atisha, the pandit, and that they should invite him to Tibet to help. These two translators’ names were Rinchen Sangpo and Legshey.

As soon as Lha Lama Yeshe Ö, the king of Tibet, heard the name of Atisha, incredible devotion arose in his mind, and he decided to invite Atisha to Tibet. He sent many gold offerings to India to invite Atisha, but it didn’t work. Then afterwards, he went himself to find gold for Atisha, and he was captured and put in the prison by an irreligious king who didn’t want the spread of Dharma in Tibet.

King Lha Lama Yeshe Ö’s nephew, Jangchub Ö, came to see him in prison. The irreligious king told Jangchub Ö, “I won’t free your uncle until you find gold the size of his body.” So, Jangchub Ö found enough gold to reach up to his neck, but still the irreligious king was not satisfied. He said, “If you don’t bring gold the size of his head, I won’t let him be free from prison.” Again, Jangchub Ö went to his uncle, the king of Tibet, and explained all these things.

The imprisoned king of Tibet, Lha Lama Yeshe Ö, explained to his nephew that since a lot of gold was offered to the irreligious king and he was still not satisfied, Jangchub Ö should not offer this king even one handful of gold. King Lha Lama Yeshe Ö said he was now very old and did not have long to live, and it would be more beneficial for his nephew, Jangchub Ö, to take the gold. He said to Jangchub Ö, “I don’t care if I die in prison. Take all this gold and ask Atisha to come to Tibet and spread the Dharma.” Then the king sent a message to Atisha through his nephew, saying, “I gave up my life to invite you to Tibet. Please guide me with your compassion. What I have in my mind is only for you to come to Tibet and spread the teachings.”

The imprisoned king sent the message with Jangchub Ö with a suffering, frantic voice, and then he passed away in prison. His nephew sent a translator with many gold offerings to invite Atisha, but the kings and abbots of India wanted Atisha to stay there. Finally, Atisha received permission and he came secretly to Tibet and helped spread the Dharma there. According to his teachings, he wrote the Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment there.

Atisha spread the pure Mahayana teaching like the rising sun, and all conflict, ignorance, and wrong conceptions were destroyed. His text was translated into English by some Tibetan lamas and other translators. I am reading the translation of this teaching because it is extremely beneficial. It is so short. Atisha did great work and brought so much benefit to India and Tibet. In India he destroyed many followers of other religions, wrong paths and wrong conceptions. He did great work.

These days, many young people from the West have the chance to hear the teachings and to understand and practice these meditations on the gradual path to enlightenment. They can find satisfaction in their lives, and they can make their lives meaningful and happy. They integrate it in their own mind, and they understand that there is a chance to make their lives meaningful. All these things are due to the kindness of Atisha, the great bodhisattva.

This great bodhisattva, Atisha, lived in discipline, and had the realization of moral conduct. He kept the 253 precepts purely, and on the basis of that, the bodhisattva’s precepts, the moral conduct precepts and the Vajrayana precepts. He had unshakeable, firm, one-pointed concentration that could last for years—even if hundreds of rockets were flying nearby they couldn’t disturb or shake his meditation. He had perfect realization of shunyata, the absolute nature, and he achieved high tantric realizations, seeing himself in the form of deities.

Atisha had high tantric realization without projections, and he did not see ordinary places—we see an ordinary house built of mud or cement, an impure place, but Atisha had only pure projections and pure view, and he always saw the view of the mandala of the deities. He had high Vajrayana realizations and he was able to transform even kaka into nectar and poison into medicine.

We can meditate like this to increase devotion to Atisha’s teachings. We can do checking meditation according to that. We may find it difficult at the beginning of the subject, and it may take time to understand, but by checking and understanding more and more the various meditations and teachings, gradually it will become clear within our mind.
