Fake or Copycat Charms: Will They Work or Not? Will They Bring Bad Luck More Then Good Luck?

Published Nobyembre 22, 2017 by jptan2012

Since I started this blog, this is one of the most common question that I get from readers, largely because they are simply a lot of copycat charms or amulets in the market. This is true not only in the Philippines, where Greenhills and Ongpin has been the hotspot for these copycat charms, but this is also true in Singapore and Malaysia.

I have refused to answer this question only because some commercialized Feng Shui consultants who sells fake always take it against me when I comment about their fake items. But since Guru Lama released the Special Gold Piyao, copycats have since copied the design already. They sometimes even put 999 signifying that it is also 99.9% pure gold, while it’s actually not, and are only lower carat of gold, plated with pure gold to make the color look it’s really 99.9% gold.

But before we go any further let us differentiate first what are fake and what copycats charms or amulets.

Fake are basically items that are passed off as Feng Shui charms, or crystals, or amulets but are totally useless because they have no functions, sometimes they even bring harm. When I started this blog, readers would always email me about something they bought and are wearing for me to see whether they are real or not. Most of them did this when I wrote a series on identifying real crystals, or semi-precious stone, or even gems. Empowered with the information that I shared with them, they realized that what they’re wearing might be fakes and so they will email me and send me photos of a particular item. This item is usually a crystal, semi-precious stone or gem bracelets. If they have put the name of the Feng Shui consultant where they got the said gem or semi-precious stone bracelet, I will no longer answer the question, but if they didn’t put the name of the person or store where they got the said lucky bracelet made of crystal or gem or semi-precious stone, I will answer them truthfully. Unfortunately, a lot of these items that were shown to me are fake, and a lot of them I found later after telling the truth usually came from two sources. In fact, one of them eventually has to close shop and has since then blamed me for her ‘downfall’.

Copycats are basically a copy of an amulet or charms that is usually made by somebody else. Perhaps it is safe to say the Lillian Too’s designs are the most copied Feng Shui charms or amulets. Once she has released her designs, it is only a matter of days before a copycat version comes out in the market. And they are way more affordable that what Lillian Too sells. But of course, I know that the quality of Lillian Too’s items are far more superior than the copycats that are sold in Greenhills and Ongpin.

So the question is now do they work or not? I’ll answer this question straight to the point.

Fakes don’t work! Plain and simple they simply don’t work. A fake crystal made of breakable plastic, is simply just that plastic and it will not have any effect. There is also a proliferation of fake Prayer Wheels in Ongpin and some stores in Greenhills. For a prayer wheel to work you need to have sutras or mantras inside the prayer wheel, otherwise it is just a waste of time and energy to be spinning it if it doesn’t have any mantra, so still it doesn’t work.

Do copycats work? This is a bit more controversial and I would like to explain it clearly.

Lillian Too recently released a statement in her sites saying that buying these copycats in what she calls fakes can create bad luck. And in a way, I agree with her. Copying a Feng Shui charm or an amulet designed by a person is in a way stealing the person’s idea and there is no good thing that will come out from copying, and thus this creates bad luck. Also, more than that, in making these designs, one has to follow some guidelines, so for all you know in copying the design they might have unconsciously altered some of it and thus it brings more bad luck than good luck.

Having said that, when I released the WISH FULFILLING AND BUDDHA’S BLESSING MANTRA PENDANT and the WEALTH AND MASTER PROTECTION PENDANT, I actually gave my blessing to my readers to copy the design if they have the means to make it or ask somebody to make it for them. My reasons are simple and it is in reality who actually owns these images or these designs. For me nobody really owns an image of Buddha or a Bodhisattva, the mantras are handed down by Buddha so who owns them? Nobody owns them, and if I’m lucky enough to know how to utilize them, which I am, then I will utilize it and bring it out to the public. If somebody decided to copy it then so be it. In a way, I have a blanket permission to allow anybody to copy it.

Which brings back us to the question whether Lillian Too was wrong in saying that it might bring more bad luck than good luck. I think Lillian Too in a way was right in saying that it might bring more bad luck, because the people who copies her amulets or Feng Shui charms uses low quality metal and it tarnish right away, so once it has started to tarnish, it will bring in bad luck, and it is not safe to use it anymore. Also, she has not given her permission, so in a way it is stealing her designs.

We then go back to the fact does she really own these mantras or images thus one cannot copy it? The answer to that question is that while she doesn’t own them, she was the one who came up with the idea of putting it together or using them, so making an exact replica of what she did or of her design is stealing, whether it is patented or copyrighted or not. If you take an inspiration from it and come up with a different design, then I think that draws the line of not being considered as stealing, because again nobody really owns it anyway. Buying this is akin to stealing it either because you know what you just bought are copycat. So this is one of the reasons why I do get a lot of readers emailing me asking why the amulet or charm that are copycats are not working.

The Special Gold Piyao(2) has been copied also, and will it work or not? When I ask my Guru Lama about this, all he said is that although he was the one who brought the different ideas or designs for a Piyao into one design that will make it more powerful, the designs are not his and thus he doesn’t hold any negative emotions to those who copied it. However, we all have to remember that the design is not what makes it truly special. What makes it truly special is that the gold used in making these gold Piyaos are empowered gold. For years they have received the energies or have been exposed to energies coming from the chanting of mantras, recitation of sutras, or pujas performed by Bhiksus, Bhiksunis, High Lamas like Guru Lama.

And so, I hope this answer your questions about fakes and copycats, fakes are a big no – no. Copycats may be fine if with blanket permission or blessing of the one who design it and if you are sure that the quality is a good or even better than the original.

Myth Buster 46: One Should Not Wear Amulets And Feng Shui Charms in a Yin Place Like a Wake, Funeral, or Hospital Because It Will Absorb the Negative Energies!

Published Nobyembre 10, 2017 by jptan2012

Recently, one of my readers acquired a Vajrapani Ruel(1), and she and her partner are happy about it because she immediately felt the change in her luck. You see this was an interesting case because she was besieged by negative energies on different fronts. First, the Feng Shui of her place is not very nice, then she seems to be besieged by negative entities as confirmed by Guru Lama and other clairvoyant friends she has. Then she may have been a target of an ‘evil eye’ caused by a jealous ‘friend’. So it was a struggle for her to get the Vajrapani Ruel(2), but when she got it she experienced some immediate noticeable change in her luck.

Then one day she went to a wake of a relative whose death occurred during the Hungry Ghost Month, and she left her Vajrapani Ruel(3), thinking that she shouldn’t bring it because it will cause bad luck. I think she might have gotten this impression because of some Feng Shui consultants who commercially sell some Feng Shui items or charms, and they warn people not to bring their charms and amulets in a wake or funeral or even to the hospital because these items may absorb some negative energy.

As a result, after that she again experienced some bad luck! Why is this, it is because she is dealing with a lot of negative energies, and her Vajrapani Ruel(4) is just starting to work for her and then she went to yin place or yin event without her Vajrapani Ruel(5). It means it has to start cleansing her again from all the negative energies she is dealing with.

But what about the warning of most Feng Shui experts that one should not wear charms or amulets in a wake or funeral or when visiting a sick person in the hospital?

My response to this is…WHAT THEN IS THE USE OF GETTING A PROTECTION WHEN IT CAN’T PROTECT YOU AT A TIME THAT YOU NEED IT MOST?

At the onset of this blog, I already have written and discussed whether we can and whether we should bring our amulets or charms to Yin places such as an hospital, a wake or a funeral, but it is worth writing about it again.

If you take a closer observation, you will notice that the Feng Shui experts who warn against wearing charms and amulets in a yin place or event are mostly commercialized Feng Shui experts. By commercialized I mean somebody who is more focused on selling rather than helping. But it doesn’t mean that all Feng Shui experts who has commercial store act this way, because the world’s most famous Feng Shui consultant doesn’t stop her followers from bringing the amulets or charms into a yin place.

So going back to the ‘teaching’ of some Feng Shui consultants not to bring charms and amulets to a yin place. I have never fully understood the logic of this, because all the more you need to get protected if you are going to a yin place. And so come to think of it there is no logic to this statement or instruction.

When going to the a wake, funeral, hospital or any yin place, all the more you should wear your amulets and charms, because you have to be protected from the negative or yin energies of the place. Not wearing them will deprive you from getting protected thus affect you in a negative way. Amulets like the Vajrapani Ruel(6), Illness Suppression Amulet, Surangama Mantra Amulet, Traditional Sutra Amulet, Kalachakra, Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet, now the Special Gold Piyao, and even the Wish Fulfilling and Buddha’s Blessing Mantra Amulet (this is no longer available) are all self – cleansing and self – energizing amulet. This is especially true for other amulets that have a mantra in it, like those that were released by a famous Feng Shui consultant and expert.

Feng Shui charms and crystals should be cleansed after wearing them in a Yin place. There are crystals that are also self – cleansing and self – energizing, but to take away the confusion, one can simple cleanse these items after visiting a Yin place. You do this simply by putting them on top of a rock salt (or sea salt, pink Himalayan salt, black lava salt) for 7 hours to overnight! That’s it.

So next time you go to a Yin place, please make sure you are protected by wearing your amulets or charms. If you’re Feng Shui consultant or if you’re seller tells you that you can’t wear it in a Yin place, drop them and look for another consultant, or don’t buy the amulet or charm.

The Darker Part of the Year Base on the 2017 Bazi Chart Has Started!

Published Oktubre 4, 2017 by jptan2012

I think most, if not all, Feng Shui experts or Feng Shui writers or Feng Shui consultants (whether commercialized or not) agrees that we have officially entered the darker part of THE the year base on the 2017 bazi chart (paht chee chart). Regular readers of this blog will remember that I have written about this during my annual forecast.

First, I wrote that a ‘calamity’ will happen on the 3rd quarter of the year or it may start to happen at around the third quarter and we will start to feel its effect towards the 4th quarter or next year. Please note that I’m talking about the 3rd quarter to 4th quarter of the lunar month and not of the Western Calendar that we regularly use officially.

Just recently, internationally famous Feng Shui expert Lillian Too has announced that we have entered the darker part of the year. My Feng Shui teacher in Hong Kong has said the same thing and furthermore, my Guru Lama has said the energies of the year have since become more negative.

Last Hungry Ghost month, which was in the 3rd quarter of the Lunar Month, saw the calamities and typhoons that struck different countries. I have written about this but failed to mention that it happened also in Nepal, India and other countries. It also happened recently in Puerto Rico, which was at the tail end of the Hungry Ghost month, but the real tragedy is that the POTUS refused to help them and became more concerned about trivial matter.

Rohingya Muslims persecutions has also become worst and might have reached it’s peak during the Hungry Ghost month.

In the Philippines, politically speaking we are in a turmoil. I don’t want to be political on this blog, but if you base it on the bazi chart and what my Guru Lama is saying, something bad has started to brew and will see it’s effect soon, which is towards the end of the year or early next year.

What is important now, regardless of your political belief or affiliation, is for you to think beyond yourself and think for this country or for this world. And I’m saying this not just for the Filipinos but also for everybody who reads regardless of whether where you live. Remember, there is brewing war that involves North Korea – USA – Japan. This war is not a matter of ‘if’ but rather of ‘when’. And the truth is it has started on a more discreet level.

Again, generally speaking a good leader is somebody who unifies rather than one who is divisive. A good leader accepts that there will be opposition and embrace it as part of it’s growth, and not somebody who tries to attack and silence those who attack him or her. A good leader is somebody who sticks to the facts and not makes up stories to malign those who oppose him or her. A good leader doesn’t come up with false stories just because he or she knows that there are people who are blind followers.

But it is time for us to get out of our own comfort zone because we have to share the truth; each of us has to do that in our own way. And we should all start praying that things will get better. We can oppose these dark energies with prayers.

On a personal level, money matters might become harder thus my Guru Lama decided to release the VAISRAVANA – DZAMBHALA WEALTH AMULET (1), and on top of that one should always protect oneself with good deeds, prayers, and amulets.

While we should be more concern on the macro effects of the dark energies that has come in, it is not to say that this will not have any effect on us on a personal level. As mentioned, on a personal level the effect will be mostly financial, although it might have some effect on communication and personal relationships as well. Furthermore, it will have an effect on our personal safety. It is important that one continues to pray and save some money. Again protect yourself, wear your gold Kalachakra pendant, or Vajrapani Ruel, or even the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet, the Illness Suppression Amulet. If you don’t have these, you can wear an image of Bodhisattva Earth Store (aka Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva), Bodhisattva Kuan Yin (also spelled or called as Kuan Shi Yin, Quan Shi Yin, Quan Yin, Guan Shi Yin, Guan Yin, Avalokitesvara, Chenrezig, Kannon, Bodhisattva of Compassion, Goddess of Mercy), or Buddha Amitabha, or Medicine Buddha.

Look What’s Under Your Bed!

Published Mayo 30, 2017 by jptan2012

Early last year a friend invited me to become the godfather of their youngest child. The reception was held at the clubhouse of the subdivision where one of their friends lives.

During the post baptism reception, the conversation turned into Feng Shui, because my now ‘compare’ and ‘comadre’ shared with them that I’m a Feng Shui blogger. It was then that their friend who lives in the said subdivision told me about his concern with his youngest brother who lives with them. The brother graduated from college a couple of years ago, but he seemed unable to hold on to a job for long. Everything will start out fine but he will soon have some trouble with work. He also confided that he has tried to consult professional Feng Shui consultants and they said that there is nothing wrong with the Bazi chart or Paht Chee chart of his brother, and that his house is Feng Shui compliant.

Since we are already in the subdivision, I agreed to see his house and do a Feng Shui audit. Aside from some minor Feng Shui blunders, everything seems to be fine. I decided to check the brother’s bazi but even that doesn’t show any reason as to why he is unable to stay in a job for long and why would he always encounter problems. At this point my friend’s friend also confided in me that his brother always encounter some financial problems.

I decided to check the youngest brother’s room again. And I really can’t see anything wrong. But it was at this point that I saw a little paper protruding from under the bed of the youngest brother. I pointed it out to my friend’s friend and he said that their helper complains that his brother is a little messy in the room and that they are only able to maintain cleanliness in his room because the helper always makes sure to clean it. My instinct told me to ask them to push the bed. They did. And under the bed, well, I really don’t know how to put it properly, but it was obvious that they never move the bed and there was a whole new world of under it. Voila! I know already the problem. We should always make sure that underneath of our bed are clean. If it’s full of dirt, it seems like we lie on top of dirt and thus bad things happen to our life.

That was last year, when I saw them again a few weeks ago, the first thing they told me that his brother has stayed for more than a year already in his latest job. This is the first job that he has that he stayed for more than 4 months! And the brother has also started to invest in his own car. Much improvement, and they attribute it to the fact that they now make sure that it is always clean underneath their bed!

Why Some of the More Conservative Feng Shui Consultants Don’t Recommend Wind Chimes!

Published Disyembre 6, 2016 by jptan2012

WindChimes.jpg

Wind chimes are one of the most common and famous Feng Shui cure. But as a Feng Shui writer trained under some of the elder Feng Shui teachers, I don’t believe in the use of wind chimes so much and this sentiment is shared by some of the more conservative Feng Shui consultants.

The truth is wind chimes are one of the oldest Feng Shui cure used by the ancient Feng Shui masters. This is indeed a very powerful Feng Shui cure or enhancer if used and properly placed. However, this is also a cure used in the olden days because of the lack of skilled craft man who can fashion other type of cures. Or amulets are not that easy to transport of the lack of motorized transport. And so they resorted to use wind chimes.

But why I don’t normally use wind chimes?

That is because of melodious sound of the wind chimes also attracts spirits, and these spirits are not necessarily good ones. Remember, even the negative spirits are attracted by positive energies. And while the melodious sound of a wind chime is positive, it is not strong enough to repel the negative energies.

So should we or shouldn’t we use wind chimes?

If you trust the Feng Shui who recommend it and is absolutely sure that they know the proper way of putting it then you can use it. Also if you are sure that you have a strong amulet that can repel negative spirits then it is ok to use a wind chime.

But as for me, there are alternatives to a wind chime so I avoid using one. I rather not risk creating more harm.

Why Do Feng Shui Consultants Push For Some Cures or Charms? : Would A Doctor Prescribed a Medicine that Won’t Work?

Published Nobyembre 26, 2016 by jptan2012

The other day I received this email. For the privacy of the sender, I will not share the person’s name and neither will I put an initial.

The sender of the said email who is a Christian, as he/she claims in the email, but seems to follow several Feng Shui consultants and writers wants to know why do Feng Shui consultants, or in my case as a Feng Shui write sort of promotes some items. This person said that he thinks that Lillian Too promotes her medallions, annual cures too much, and that another Feng Shui consultant promotes some type of cloth and faux jewelries, while I ‘promote’ the Vajrapani Ruel a lot.

Doing Feng Shui is very much like acting as doctors of the Earth Luck aspect of a person. Remember, there is Heaven’s Luck, which is basically your karma (where you’re born, condition of your birth, etc.) and also help from Buddhas or Bodhisattvas or Taoist Gods, or Jesus Christ and the Saints. Then there is Man’s Luck, which has something to do with what you do and how you work. Then there is also Earth’s Luck or Feng Shui. Practicing Feng Shui is very much acting like a doctor, you cure / treat the bad things or prevent the bad things from happening first before you start boosting the good things.

When you go to a doctor, that’s what they’ll do. Treat or cure your illness first before they focus on preventing other diseases to come up. But by curing or preventing, a doctor will naturally prescribe a treatment or medicine that they believe will work. They will not prescribe a medicine or treatment that doesn’t work. Otherwise, what’s the point of the treatment or medicine? Furthermore, different doctors might prescribe different treatment or medicines basically depending on what is within reach. A doctor in a remote town might believe in angioplasty but will not recommend it only because it is not available.

I understand that sometimes there are commercialized Feng Shui consultants, who are into this as business might push for an items that they sell. I will not deny that that happens. But generally speaking most will only prescribed something that they believe will work.

So Feng Shui consultants, or a Feng Shui writer like me will naturally recommend something that we believe in. In my case, I often times recommend readers items that are available online or available from other Feng Shui sites. But I only recommend something that I have experienced and believe will truly work. I also believe in a permanent thing rather than something you change annually, thus my recommendations might seem repetitive. Because they work and it’s perpetual!

Feng Shui Experts Are Not Pessimists!

Published Nobyembre 23, 2016 by jptan2012

One of the most common feed back that I get about Feng Shui experts, or Feng Shui consultants, is that they seem to be quite negative or pessimists. I am happy that I have not been called as such, at least not to my face, but a lot of my readers or those who come to me to ask for help observed that most commercial Feng Shui experts or consultants are very negative. Some people think that this is tactic of a Feng Shui consultant for him or her to sell his or her Feng Shui items. Trust me, this kind of accusation is not limited to a single Feng Shui consultant but it seems even the non – commercialized one also get this kind of feed back from time to time.

The answer to this question is quite simple. Those who are familiar with Feng Shui will naturally have a jump off point of what is negative, simply because in Feng Shui it is important to protect first before enhance, it is better to cure the negative and the bad before one boost or improve the positive and the good. That’s the only explanation why a lot of Feng Shui consultants, both commercialized and non – commercialized. It is part of a training of a Feng Shui consultant or expert to look for the problems first before talking about the good things. In fact, regular readers of this blog will know that right from the start and in my annual forecast, I always say that it is imperative that one concentrates on protecting oneself before enhancing the good stars!
