Myth Buster 15: The North is Really Bad

Published Abril 25, 2014 by jptan2012

northA few weeks ago I went to do a Feng Shui audit of a place of a reader. I don’t really remember the context of what we are talking about but the subject of the conversation went into discussing the effects of the North. The head of the family asked me how come older generations believes that the North is really bad, and he even quoted the Chinese saying that says, “I will rather go homeless than have a free house that’s facing North!”

Being a Chinese myself, I’m familiar with this saying, and the truth is there is no truth to this saying. But where did this belief come from.

During the time of Mao Zedong and Deng Xiao Ping, the practice of real Feng Shui was banned, because they’re afraid that this might be used against them. Nevertheless, a lot of Chinese even some government officials still believe in Feng Shui and want to use this to their advantage. Because real Feng Shui experts are afraid to come out, this gave rise to charlatans and fake Feng Shui practitioners. They function under the supervision of the government, and were given some instructions. To make things easy, East has always been the best direction, and north is the worst direction.

But if you’ve been reading my blog, the truth is there is no such thing as the completely bad direction or completely good direction. It all depends on the yearly flying stars and on the Kua number of the person, or even the physical Feng Shui.

Pablo, 2012’s Strongest Philippine Typhoon!

Typhoon Pablo has an international name of Bopha.

Typhoon Pablo has an international name of Bopha.

It seems like yesterday when the Philippines was hit by Sendong, where a lot of people died, families were broken, and dreams shattered. That happened a month before Christmas. Now, the same people who were affected by Sendong will have to go through the ordeal of facing Pablo.

Pablo, according to the US experts is a Category 5 Typhoon, but the limitations of Philippine Typhoon Signal guidelines only categorized it up to Signal No. 3. Nevertheless, authorities I believe has given ample warning about the damage that Pablo can deliver.

Most of us won’t be able to physically do anything about it. However, I would like to urge everybody to pray for those who are affected or going to be severely affected by Pablo. It doesn’t matter whether we have the same belief just say a prayer to your God.

For Buddhists, or for those who believes in chanting a mantra, urge you to chant a mantra for those who will have to go through Typhoon Pablo’s wrath.

I suggest to say the Mantra of the Bodhisattva of Compassion – OM MANI PADME HUM, and the Mantra of Medicine Buddha – TADYATHA OM BHEKANDZYE BHEKANDZYE MAHA BHEKANDZYE BHEKANDZYE RADZA SAMUGATE SOHA. Chant it as many times as you can and dedicate it to the typhoon victims. If you’re busy 108 times or one full mala will do.

It was just announced that Typhoon Pablo is the strongest typhoon to hit Mindanao in two decades. Read more about it by clicking here.

Door Facing Another Door Creates a Bad Chi of Arguments and Misunderstanding

Published Hulyo 25, 2012 by jptan2012

The other day we talked about what may cause disharmony amongst siblings. Today, allow me to talk about another Feng Shui blunder that causes arguments, however, unlike the earlier post this one is not ‘exclusive’ to siblings, but affects anybody whose door faces another door.

This may bedroom doors facing another door, or office doors, or your main doors, or gates. Everybody inside the house/office/room/etc. on both side will be affected by this Feng Shui blunder. What happens is that you’ll be trying to directly pull at the chi and sharing with the chi. When this happens, you’ll naturally feel animosity towards the other person on the other side of the door, the people on the other end will also feel the same way, and because of this you’ll end up creating misunderstanding with each other.

It’s easier to cure to this Feng Shui blunder if the flaw is inside an office or house, all you need is to put a bright light in-between the two doors thus creating more yang chi. However, if the blunder is between to main gates then the problem is harder to resolve. Both parties must agree to put a bright light beyond the main gate.
