As mentioned, the last articles before the eventual ending of this blog is going to be more of an ‘educational’ posts, I will talk about how you can do your basic Feng Shui.
All of us has good and bad directions base on our birthdate or birthday, this is going to be determined thru our Kua number. I have written about this before, but I think it is important that this be discussed again, because this is something that is quite important and needs to be understand by everybody. It is also quite important that everyone learns how to determine their own good and bad directions. If you know this, you would have already dealt with 1/4th of your Feng Shui.
To achieve good Feng Shui it is important that you face your good directions when eating or working, your head should be directed towards one of those directions when sleeping, your bedroom should be in that sector of the house, and most importantly your house door or office door should be facing one of those directions.
Likewise, you should avoid the bad directions.
There are different Feng Shui schools of thought, and one of them is the Compass Feng Shui. Calculating the Kua number is a sub-thought of the Compass Feng Shui.
But before I discuss that, allow me to share the different good and bad directions.
The four different good lucks are SHENG CHI (Success), TIEN YI (HEALTH), NIEN YEN (Relationship/Love) and FU WEI (Personal Development/Growth).
SHENG CHI, which I have indicated as the ‘Success’ direction, is actually loosely translated as ‘generating chi’ or ‘generating energy’. Most Feng Shui experts and Chinese believes that this is the best amongst all the four-different luck, because this largely governs your personal success, especially in business, or if it is wealth growth and prosperity that you’re looking for. This direction also governs your ‘political’ potential. By political I don’t mean it to be the real sense of politics but more of how you handle situation in your professional life. This is also the direction that governs your recognition luck.
TIEN YI is loosely translated as ‘heaven’s doctor’. This largely governs one’s health. If you are experiencing health problems or is afflicted with the illness star it’s best to have your head face the direction of your Tien Yi when sleeping, just make sure that the illness star is not in that direction on that particular year. This is also the direction that concerns your wealth luck, financial luck, money luck. However, Tien Yi is not only about health, it also provides medium range wealth and career luck. So, some people consider this as the second-best luck.
NIEN YEN’s loose translation is ‘descendant and longevity’, but as you can see the English translation that I indicated is RELATIONSHIP/LOVE, because this direction basically deals with primarily family relationship luck and descendant’s luck. This is also the luck that governs your all your relationship that includes love life. This is also a secondary health direction, so if you’re sick and is unable to face your Tien Yi direction, this is the second option.
FU WEI’s loose translation is ‘basic self’. This is the direction that largely governs your personal growth but is not related to career and/or financial growth. This direction is largely associated with people who need to seek enlightenment or needs to know what they want to do in life. This is also a direction that is largely beneficial to those who need to seek spirituality and clarity. If you’re going through a lot of personal problem, this is the direction to activate.
It’s quite easy for us to misinterpret that Sheng Chi is the best luck; in fact, this is the case with most Chinese and some Feng Shui experts. However, I don’t think this is the case, each of the lucky and its corresponding directions base in your Kua number serves its own purpose. For example, you may be enjoying career success and financial luck but is going through a tough personal fulfillment phase; you can activate your Fu Wei and need not concentrate too much on your Sheng Chi. You also may be a successful businessman, but your health of family life is bad, then you can activate your Tien Yi and Nien Yen respectively. It’s really finding the right balance and looking for what’s missing in your life or what would be your priority.
How do you activate these directions, it’s quite simple, you just face that direction when working and eating. When sleeping your head should be towards the direction you want to activate.
Now, the good directions are really just half of it. There are bad directions also, and in this case, it’s a perfect yin and yang concept.
Allow me to share the four bad directions.
One of these bad lucks is called HO HAI, which is loosely translated as ‘accidents and mishaps’, this is an unlucky direction in the sense that continuously confronting or activating this luck by facing its corresponding direction base on your Kua number will create some bad luck that should have been otherwise preventable. For example, you can fall off the stairs and break a leg, or through carelessness might miss out on some detail with work that might create some problem with your boss or colleagues or clients.
Another bad luck is the WU KWEI, literal translation is “Five Ghost’. This may sound scary and to some extent it is really quite scary. For people who have requested me to read their Bazi, I call this luck as ‘Personal Bad Luck’, because Wu Kwei tends to attack anything that’s quite personal. For example, if you’re a parent a child might get hurt, it can also create a lot of disharmony and quarrels both in your work place and at home. You might also have problems with fire and theft.
LIU SHA or “Six Killings’ is another bad luck. This basically attacks your career and wealth luck. Meaning, you might lose a job or get into trouble because of it. Its secondary effect is with the family, you might have a broken family or have some financial problems because of family matters like a family member that gets into gambling or an illness that will need long term care thus creating financial problems.
The last of these bad lucks is CHUEH MING, which is also directly can be translated into “Total Loss’, this may be scariest of all the bad luck direction base on your Kua number. This is considered as the most fatal of all directions, because it might create total bad luck. Continuously facing or ‘activating’ this direction might even negate your good karma and good Feng Shui.
All these good and bad directions are based on your kua number.
Basically, your Kua number determines the lucky and unlucky directions of your life. I’ll discuss about these lucky and unlucky directions in details on my next post. Calculating the Kua number of a guy from a girl slightly differ from each other. For the guy, what you need to do is take the last 2 digits of your birth year. Add them together and keep on adding them until you get a single digit. If you were born before the year 2000, deduct this number from the number 10, and 9 if you were born in the year 2000 or later. The result is your Kua number.
For example: 1973 (7+3=10 / 1+0=1 / 10-1=9) Kua Number is 9
For the women, you also take the last two digits of your birth year. Add them together and keep on adding until you get a single digit. Add 5 to this number if you were born before the year 2000, add 6 if you were born in the year 2000 or later. If the result is a two-digit number, keep adding it again until you again get a single digit. This is your Kua number.
Please note that if you were born before Feb. 4 of the year, your birth year is that of the year before. For example, if you were born between Jan. 1 and Feb. 3, your birth year is that of the previous year. Let’s say you were born on Feb. 3, 2000, that means your birth year is still 1999.
As mentioned you must avoid your bad directions, but the reality of life is sometimes one can’t avoid them. There are a few cures available like putting rock salt, the problem is that you have to constantly replace them and many people forgot. The past few years, I have taken into recommending some amulets and these amulets have proven to be very effective in curing the negative effects of facing wrong directions. The cures are VAJRAPANI RUEL, SURANGGAMA MANTRA AMULET, and lately Guru Lama said that the FOUR DHARMAKAYA RELIC MANTRAS AMULET & LAMA ATISHA COMBINED AMULETS is also a very powerful tool to counteract the negative effects of facing your bad directions. Please note that when it’s your bedroom door or house door that is facing the bad direction, you have to carry the said amulet and at the same time put one on the door of your bedroom or house door. The SPECIAL GOLD PIYAO is also a very good cure for this concern.
It also has fierce but still friendly face, this indicates that while you can be fierce in business or work, you will still gain the support and admiration of the people around you. This also means that you can you charm to get to your wealth luck.
Other than the magic inscriptions at the bottom both designs are basically the same.
The Vajrapani Ruel looks simple, maybe even rustic, but this simple amulet is packed with a special talisman paper inside, with various ingredients, which includes Namtso Salt, soil, various herbs and plants, crystal, and a relic from a high lama. It’s important to put the ruel inside a amulet holder or something sturdy as to not ruin it. If the cloth had tear which exposes or spill the ingredients inside, the ruel becomes useless. The Vajrapani Ruel itself is only about 1 to 2 inches and it varies from one ruel to another.
Pure Land Buddhists believes that when you wear a Surangama Mantra Amulet, heavenly beings that has an affinity with you will hover over you.
