The Creation of Wealth: Is Wanting to Get Wealthy A Sin and A Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet Miraculous Story Shared by My Guru Lama!

wealthEncountering new amulets is always a unique and wonderful experience. Being one of the instruments to make the amulet available to some people is even a bigger blessing. Just recently another powerful wealth amulet was introduced in this blog, the amulet is called the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet, and while it is a fairly new amulet to be read about, it is technically an old amulet since the instruction of it was found by my Guru Lama about 20 years ago in a Tantric Buddhist Scripture, whose original copy is said to have been written by high lama in Tibet approximately 1,200 years ago. This means, the amulet itself has been existing at the very least 1,200 years or maybe even more. There were several initiation for an amulet in the said Tantric Buddhist Scripture, and several are in use now, however, as to why this particular amulet has not been regularly used, nobody knows.

In the post called THE VAISRAVANA – DZAMBHALA WEALTH AMULET: AN INTRODUCTION TO A VERY POWERFUL WEALTH AMULET, I wrote about how Guru Lama in a deep meditative state discovered the holy book (a copy of the original one) where the instruction and ritual in making this amulet was written. He also made this amulet for the first time for one of his Sangha member who at that time lives in poverty but is now one of the famous rich Singaporean businessmen.

Although that was the first time Guru Lama made the amulet, it was definitely not the last. From time to time, he will make the amulet for some people who badly need it. And today, I will share one of the stories whom Guru Lama has blessed by making this amulet for that person.

Chun Qiet (CQ) is a Malaysian – Chinese who was born in Singapore. His parents are both devout Buddhist and are Sangha members of the temple where Guru Lama serves as Abbot. His family would always go to temple and Guru Lama knows the family quite well. One day, tragedy strike, CQ’s family had an accident and both of CQ’s parents died.

CQ was left with his father’s business. But CQ was only 19 then and he is not familiar with the business. An uncle came to help, but after 4 years they soon found out that he is not capable of running his brother’s business and suggested to CQ to just sell the business. Since CQ is close to Guru Lama, he sought him out and asked for blessings. CQ confessed that if he doesn’t sell the business he might be left with nothing. He might have to sell their house. But at the same time he confessed that he doesn’t want to sell his father’s business because he feels that it is his father’s legacy.

Guru Lama doesn’t agree that CQ’s father’s legacy is the business because he believes the CQ’s father’s legacy is CQ himself, who has proven himself to be a responsible and good young man.

After that conversation that Guru Lama had with CQ, he decided to make the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet for CQ.

Note: That was not the second time Guru Lama made the amulet; he has made it for several other people.

After receiving the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet, CQ was approached by an old friend of his father to ask about his welfare and the business. CQ opened up about his dilemma, and surprisingly this ‘uncle’ offered to invest in the business so CQ can help bring it back up, but on top of that he offered to help in the business. CQ’s uncle was initially reluctant because he was afraid that his brother’s friend would just take over the business. But somehow CQ realized that he got nothing to lose and he decided to just plunge into it, besides he felt that the amulet would help him.

Well, it did. That was 14 years ago. CQ is now again the sole owner of the business he inherited from his father. He has since made the business bigger. His father’s only guided him in the business for 3 years after which he gradually left the business until it was made official thru legal papers again 7 years after he invested and ‘meddled’ in the business. CQ has since then ‘bought him out’ of the business again, obviously this was done amicably. CQ firmly believes that it was because of the amulet that he was fortunate enough to be reacquainted with his father’s friend.

Vaisravana.

King Vaisravana a powerful Buddhist wealth god is the chief of the Four Heavenly Kings.

Guru Lama explains that the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet is not an amulet that gives you a quick rich blessing. Although, he has seen this happened also. However, he said the main effect of the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet is protection; protection that you don’t lose your wealth or money, but it is also helps you create your wealth by leading you to the right people and to the right sources. Guru Lama explains that in “Maha Biddhuya Vaircona Abihidisambohi Vikurvitadthisnana Vaipulya Sudrentaha Raja Nama Dharma – Paryaya”, the Tantric Buddhist Scripture or book where he found the guideline for the initiation of the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet, it clearly states that this particular wealth amulet is an amulet that helps gather wealth sources for you, then helps you actualize your wealth, after which it will stabilize it and makes it a continuous process to help your wealth grow bigger and bigger. Thus it is imperative that the container is a cylindrical metal to represent continuity and stability. What does this mean? It means it is unique in such a way that it doesn’t pull out from your bazi or karma or own luck the money, but rather it creates wealth luck for you. Other amulets like the Vajrapani Ruel, which is mainly a protective amulet but has a very high percentage of wealth luck manifesting features, will bring wealth luck to you if you have wealth luck base on your bazi or karma. Our life are pre – determined, but this doesn’t mean that it is only pre – determined on a single path, it is pre – determined with various paths, the normal is 3 – 4 paths, sometimes more, but there are times that it is only 2. However, admittedly there is a single path is more dominant than all the other paths. And what the Vajrapani Ruel and the other amulet does is get your wealth luck from all the other paths. The Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet is unique in such a way that even if there is no wealth luck in all the ‘paths’ of your life, it creates it for you. So in a way it changes your wealth destiny. So this amulet is very good for people who absolutely don’t have wealth luck. Nevertheless, for those who have wealth luck already but are unable to tap into it, the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet helps pull those luck for you, make it attainable and then creates a new path for you so that it becomes sustainable and continuous, it is not a “one time, big time” thing.

Inside the metal container are the consecrated mantras of King Vaisravana, the chief of the Four Heavenly Kings, and a known wealth god, with the consecrated mantras of the Yaksa (also spelled as Yaksha) wealth gods: Green Dzambhala, White Dzambhala, Yellow Dzambhala, Red Dzambhala, and Blue Dzambhala/Black Dzambhala!

Note: Dzambhala is also spelled as Dzambala, Jambhala, Jambala, Zambhala, Zambala.

The mantras were printed under strict Mahayana guidelines found in the Tantric Buddhist book and then consecrated under strict Mahayana – Hinayana initiations. It was then sealed under special prayers and mantras that a high lama like Guru Lama can chant.

Some of you might be asking why create a wealth amulet. That is because whether we accept it or not we are living in a time where there is a lot of uncertainty and money problems or financial problems seems to becoming more common. We all want and need financial blessings or money blessings and there is nothing wrong with it. It boils down to the intent and purpose; those are the things that determine the goodness or evilness of having money.

Majority of my readers are Christians, which is ironic because a lot of those attack my site as evil are also Christians, and I’m sure a lot of you will be asking whether isn’t this bad because ‘money is the root of evil’.

Money is not the root of evil. Money is simply that money, it’s a tool. It’s just like a computer or an iron or a chair or car, how we use it makes it evil or good. We are the root of evil, but we are also definitely the root of goodness. What we make of it determines whether it becomes evil or not.

To further answer whether money is bad, or wanting to be wealthy is bad or not, allow me to share something with you.

There is a silent but big number of theologist and scholars who believes that Christianity actually evolved from Buddhism. I have written about this in the past but to briefly put it, Christianity existed about 500 to 1000 years after Buddhism. And the similarities are simply astounding. For example, the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit are very similar to the concept of the Holy Trinity of Buddhism which consists of Amitabha Buddha (who even is not considered as Shakyamuni Buddha’s father is actually an ‘older’ Buddha and was the one who sent Bodhisattva Vajrapani to protect Sakyamuni Buddha on the eve of his full enlightenment), Buddha Sakyamuni (who is the Buddha of our world, who became human first and it has to be noted, if there is a tempting of Jesus Christ, there was also a tempting of Sakyamuni Buddha on the eve of his enlightenment), and Bhaysajyaguru Buddha or better known as Medicine Buddha (which is the only celestial Buddha, a Buddha that didn’t assume a human physical form). As you can see one can see that here this three Buddhas is similar to the Holy Trinity of the Christians.

Furthermore, the concept of the Holy Mother or the Virgin Mother can be akin to Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara who became Kuan Yin Bodhisattva. Even the white dress with the veil is very much similar. Not to mention her ascension is very similar to the ascension story not of Bodhisattva Kuan Yin but rather of Buddha Sakyamuni’s earthly mother.

Note: Bodhisattva Kuan Yin is also called, as already mentioned Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and the other names are Kuan Shi Yin Bodhisattva, Quan Shi Yin Bodhisattva, Quan Yin Bodhisattva, Guan Shi Yin Bodhisattva, Guan Yin Bodhisattva, Bodhisattva Chenrezig, or Kannon Bodhisattva.

Not only that, the concept of Second Coming is very similar to the concept of the coming of the next Buddha, which is Maitreya Buddha. I can go on and on about the other similarities but I think that is a topic for another post.

I say this because I find it surprising the despite of the many similarities, one of the major difference is how one looks at money or wealth. Most Christians whether Catholic or otherwise are not comfortable talking about wanting to have more money or increasing their wealth. That is despite of the fact churches are quite rich. In Buddhism, there is nothing wrong in wanting more money or having the desire to increase wealth. In fact, Buddhism teaches that wealthy people have good karma, it may or may not be from this life but it can be from past life or past lives. Also, being wealthy makes it easier to practice Dharma and to become kinder and helpful to other people. I’m not saying that it is a prerequisite, but what I’m saying is that it is a good tool to make oneself become more compassionate and be helpful.

Allow me to share a story that supposedly happened thousand of year ago:

Lama Atisha, the revered lama and Mahasiddha, came across an old man, dying of starvation in Bodghaya. Lama Atisha offered his own flesh, cut from his body, to save the old man. But the old man said, “How can I eat a monk’s flesh?” Lama Atisha felt helpless in the face of this suffering. In Lama Atisha’s moment of despair, Chenrezeig (Guan Yin), the Compassionate One, appeared to Atisha and said, “Out of my eye, will manifest Jambhala, the Buddha of wealth, to help suffering beings. I shall alleviate their poverty so they will not be distracted from practicing the good heart.”

This is just one version of the timeless story of Jambhala, a “wealth deity,” a profoundly simple story that illustrates why wealth is not necessarily the root of all evils. Again, I would like to bring your attention to the statement that says: I SHALL ALLEVIATE THEIR POVERTY SO THEY WILL NOT BE DISTRACTED FROM PRACTICING THE GOOD HEART. For me this is very important.

Note: The use of Buddha of Wealth is debatable whether it was really the term use. However, some scholars argue that sometimes Buddha is use every time there was selfless act done out of extreme compassion.

Buddhism is all about non – materialistic, and I think it’s teaching about wealth and being non – materialistic perfectly compliment each other. If you are wealthy and is non – materialistic then you have practiced or is practicing one of the greatest dharma.

When Jonathan Ciliberto, a famous writer and critic of books especially Buddhist books, reviewed the book “A Shower of Jewels: Deities of Wealth” he wrote that “a lack of money is an obstacle to practice” to dharma or Buddhism. He further stated that, “Poverty itself, can make practice difficult. It is difficult enough to find birth in the precious human realm, our opportunity to practice the Dharma, without adding to suffering with the burden of poverty. One of the great perfections of practice is generosity—helping all sentient being. Instead of thinking of wealth as selfish (or feeling guilt about its accumulation), we should instead consider the Buddhist concept that wealth can be a virtuous means to help others.”

In Christianity or even in the West (generally speaking) there is some stigma attached to the idea of accumulating wealth when discussing spirituality and generosity.

Venerable Zasep Rinpoche, during a teaching at Gaden Choling explained that in eastern countries wealth practice is not frowned upon as it might be in western cultures. (I would like to clarify that eastern here refers to non – Christian countries). He further added that while meditating on and trying to accumulate wealth might be perceived as the opposite of generosity, as always with Buddhist philosophy, it comes down to intention. If the intention is to achieve virtuous deeds like generosity, healing, relieving the suffering of others and oneself, then wealth practice and accumulation is a meritorious deed.

Vaisravana Dzambhala Wealth Amulet

The Vaisavana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet has the consecrated copies of the mantras of King Vaisravana of the Four Heavenly Kings and the mantras of the Five Dzambhalas. Furthermore, there are some special ingredients in powder form that are included to add to the potency of the amulet. Before it is sealed it is furthered consecrated on the image of The Four Heavenly Kings.It is placed in a metal case, not just for its durability and protection but according to the Tantric Buddhist Scripture book where Guru Lama got the instructions for this amulet, it has to be placed in cylindrical metal case to symbolize continuity and stability. Approximately 1.5 inches in height.

In the book “World of Transformation: Tibetan Art of Wisdom and Compassion”, which was authored by Marilyn Rhie, David Jackson and Robert A.F. Thurman, the father of Hollywood actress Uma Thurman who happens to be a good friend of Dalai Lama and Tibetan Buddhism scholar and professor, it stated that, These deities of prosperity are… benevolent, and are helpful to spiritual people by supporting the educational purpose of life in the Buddhist perspective.”

It makes sense, if we live in poverty and if we constantly look for money for our day to day survival, we won’t be able to progress in our spiritual growth and more importantly we are unable to help other.

The purpose of practicing wealth rituals or wearing or carrying amulets with high wealth effect like the Vajrapani Ruel, Surangama Mantra Amulet or the Traditional Sutra Amulets or wealth amulets like the Vaisravana – Dzambhala Wealth Amulet is mainly to provide the means to help oneself and others. Its purpose is not to live a life of luxury but it’s to remove the obstacle to the spiritual practice like eliminating poverty, which is certainly a hindrance.

This reminds me of people like Nanay Socorro Ramos (of the famous National Bookstore) or Bill Gates, or some of my readers like the one in Malaysia or Davao (BM) who despite of being really rich, they maintain a humble and most of all they benefit other people with their wealth. They use their money to help other people.

Now is there anything wrong in wanting to get rich, have money and become wealthy? Well, Buddhism says if the intention is pure, then there is nothing wrong with it.

The Four Heavenly Kings: Getting to Know Four Powerful Buddhist Gods that Helps Bestow Wealth, Success, Peace, and Protection.

Today is a very good day and an exciting day (please note that actual writing and date of posting are usually different from each other) for me and in a way for my regular readers and believers of Feng Shui and Buddhism it should be a good day for you also, because today is the day I was told by my Guru Lama to share with you about the Four Heavenly Kings.four heavenly kings

The Four Heavenly Kings has been featured in numerous Buddhist Sutras, one of which is in The Sutra of the Past Vows of Earth Store Bodhisattva; Earth Store Bodhisattva is also known as Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva or Di Zhang Pu Sa. In this particular sutra, Sakyamuni Buddha (The Historical Buddha) directly addressed the Four Heavenly Kings to help propagate the Sutra of the Past Vows of Earth Store Bodhisattva. They were also prominently mentioned in the highly revered Golden Light Sutra.

It is said that those who recite the Golden Light Sutra will be protected by the Four Heavenly Kings themselves. Furthermore, those who recite and keep the Lotus Sutra will also be protected by the Four Heavenly Kings.

From this we can see that the Four Heavenly Kings are powerful protector Buddhist gods, however, as you read on you will that they don’t only protect us but they each also have a specific function which is different from each other.

At this point, I would like to clarify that the Four Heavenly Kings are gods in the Buddhist pantheon; it means they are not yet Bodhisattvas or Buddhas, and they serve the Buddhas or Bodhisattvas.

Again, The Four Heavenly Kings are Buddhist gods, each of who watches over their assigned cardinal direction of the world. The cardinal directions are East, West, North, and South. In Chinese they are originally known or called as “Fēng Tiáo Yǔ Shùn” (風調雨順), which literally translates to “Good climate”, but in the translation in the Chinese version of sutras they are called “Sì Dà Tiānwáng” (四大天王) which means “Four Great Heavenly Kings”.four heavenly kings 2

In most Chinese Buddhist Temples, one will normally see the THE HEAVENLY KINGS HALL. This is usually one of the first most majestic halls one will see.

The Four Heavenly Kings resides in Mt. Sumeru, a celestial and cosmic mountain where the heavens are. They are also the protector of the world and they fight evil, each of the 4 Heavenly Kings are able to command a legion of supernatural creatures to protect the Dharma or people who follow the Dharma.

Each of the Four Heavenly Kings serves Sakra, the of the devas (gods) of the Trayastrimsha Heaven. In Buddhism there are many heavens, and the Tranyastrimsha Heaven is the heaven nearest to our world, which is called Jambvudpiva is Buddhist sutras.

Although they are more commonly called as the Four Heavenly Kings, each one of them has a name and their specific directions and functions. Allow me to introduce to you the Four Heavenly Kings:

VAISRAVANA (He Who Hears Everything)Vaisravana.

  • Is the chief of the Four Heavenly Kings and is the main protector of the cardinal direction North. He is sometimes likened to Bodhisattva Kuan Yin (also spelled or called as Quan Yin, Guan Yin, Kuan Shi Yin, Guan Shi Yin, Quan Shi Yin, Avalokitesvara, Kannon, Chenrezig, Bodhisattva of Compassion, Goddess of Mercy) whose literal translation is THE WHO HEAR THE CRIES OF THE WORLD.
  • Vaisravana is also known as Kubera, Namtose (Namthose), Vessavana, Thao Kuwen, Wetsawan, Wetsuwan, Wéthawún Nat Min, Duō Wén Tiānwáng.
  • Vaisravana is the rule of water or rain, which is also the element that represents wealth or money. The umbrella or the pagoda are his symbolic weapons. Vaisravana is considered as a very powerful god of wealth.
  • In fact, Vaisravana rules over the famous gods of weatlh, which are the Five Dzambhalas (also spelled as Dzambhala, Dzambala, Jambala, Jambhala, Zambhala, Zambala) namely Red Dzambhala, Yellow Dzambhala, White Dzambhala, Black or Blue Dzambhala, and Green Dzambhala. He rules over the Dzambhalas amongst other Yaksha (also spelled as Yaksa) which are generals of the heavenly realm.
  • Vaisravana is often associated with the colors yellow and green.
  • Symbols of Vaisravana: Umbrella, Stupa, Pagoda, Mongoose
  • Cardinal Direction: North

VIRUDHAKA (He Who Causes To Grow)Virudhaka

  • Is the king of the South. He is the ruler of the wind. And is the god who helps cause good growth of roots or crops.
  • His symbolic weapon is the sword, which he carries in his right hand to protect the Dharma and also to symbolize power over ignorance.
  • Virudhaka is also known as Virūḷhaka, Thao Wirunhok, Virúlaka Nat Min, Zēng Zhǎng Tiānwáng, Zōchō-ten, Jeungjang-cheonwang,
  • Virudhaka rules over Kumbhanda, which are a group of dwarfish spirits and is considered as one of the lesser deities in Buddhism.
  • Virudhaka is often associated with the color blue.
  • Symbol of Virudhaka: Sword
  • Cardinal Direction: South

DHRTARASTRA (He Who Upholds the Realm)Dhrtarastra

  • Is the king that rules over East. He is also considered as the God of Music.
  • His symbolic weapon is a stringed instrument called pipa.
  • It is said that Dhrtarastra uses music to convert all sentient beings to Buddhism. While all of the Four Heavenly Kings are harmonious and compassionate, Dhrtarastra is considered to be a god that helps promotes harmony and compassion.
  • Dhrtarastra is also known as Dhrutharashṭa, Thao Thatarot, Daddáratá Nat Min, Chí Guó Tiānwáng, Jikoku-ten, Jiguk-cheonwang, Yülkhorsung.
  • Dhrtarastra rule over the gandharvas, which are male nature spirits that has superb heavenly and celestial musical skills. They are part animal usually a bird or a horse, and acts as messenger between gods and humans.
  • Dhrtarastra are often associated with the color white.
  • Symbol of Dhrtarastra: Pipa
  • Cardinal Direction: East.

VIRUPAKSA ( He Who Sees All)Virupaksa

  • Is the king that rules over the West. He is considered as the one who sees everything that happens in the Dharma world.
  • His symbolic weapons are snake or a red cord that is representative of a dragon.
  • It is said the Virupaksa watches over us in the sky, and that when we solemnly call on him in time of danger, he will guard and protect us. And if you are not Buddhist and for some reason knows a lot of Buddhism, it is said that it Virupaksa is the one who feeds you these informations.
  • Virupaksa is also known as Virūpakkha, Virūpaksha, Thao Wirupak, Virúpekka Nat Min, Guăng Mù Tiānwáng, Kōmoku-ten, Gwangmok-cheonwang,
  • Virupaksa rules over the Nagas, which is a deity that has taken the form of a very great snake.
  • Virupaksa is often associated with the color red.
  • Symbols of Virupaksa: Snake, Stupa, Pearl.
  • Cardinal Direction: West

According to Guru Lama praying to the Four Heavenly Kings will provide us with wealth and prosperity (thru King Vaisravana), success and progress (thru King Virudhaka), peace and harmony (thru King Dhrtarastra) and, good health and protection from danger (thru King Virupaksa). Placing their images at home also serves as one of the most powerful protection amulet one can have.

Guru Lama shares with me a story about how when he was assigned by the Dalai Lama to leave Dharamsala, India to help spread Buddhism and build temple in other parts of Asia, he has personally tapped into the blessings and power of the Four Heavenly Kings.

That was a few decades ago and when he left India, he was only given small amount money to travel and spread the Dharma and eventually build a temple. Guru Lama said he was a little apprehensive because a few years back they just left Tibet because of Chinese oppression, and when he was asked to leave again to spread the Dharma, he was apprehensive and really nervous even though he was excited and felt honored to be entrusted with the task of spreading the Dharma.

A few months before leaving India, he started preparing himself physically and mentally to this overwhelming task. He would always meditate on the teaching of the different sutras and would always draw strength from Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara (aka Kuan Yin, Quan Yin, Guan Yin, Kuan Shi Yin, Quan Shi Yin, Kuan Shi Yin, Chenrezig, Kannon) and Bodhisattva Vajrapani. One night in his sleep he received a vision that Vajrapani Bodhisattva visited him and that he was shown the images of the Four Heavenly Kings. Upon waking up he knew then that he would need the help of the Four Heavenly Kings to help progress in his endeavor.

This totally make sense, because if you go back to the description of the Four Heavenly Kings, he will need wealth and prosperity to help build a temple, success and progress so that people will see the good side of what he was about to do, peace and harmony so that he can transmute that feeling to the people around him, good health for this overwhelming task, and protection to ensure that he doesn’t come to harm’s way in spreading the Dharma.

And so my Guru Lama started worshipping and praising the Four Heavenly Kings by making offerings to them and by chanting the mantras of the Four Heavenly Kings. He also vigorously recited The Golden Light Sutra, and The Lotus Sutra (full title is called “Sūtra on the White Lotus of the Sublime Dharma”). And the rest is history. According to Guru Lama he was able to become an instrument into building a temple and building a Sangha (Buddhist community) with relative ease. Money for the temple just kept on pouring in.

Note: To this day Guru Lama still actively participate in building temples. The stipulated donation from the amulets goes to the feeding of the monks or building temples or making of images of Buddhas or Bodhisattvas.

And so today, again for the first time, I want to share with you a powerful mantra that will help you attract wealth and prosperity, success and progress, peace and harmony, lastly, good health and protection, you can recite the mantras of each of the Four Heavenly Kings.

Here are the mantras of each of the Four Heavenly Kings:

  1. For Wealth and Prosperity recite the Mantra of King Vaisravana: OM VAISRAVANA YE SOHA
  2. For Success and Progress in Life recite the Mantra of King Virudhaka: OM VIRUDHAKA KUMBHANDADHIPATA YE SOHA
  3. For Peace and Harmony recite the Mantra of King Dhrtarastra: OM DHRTARASTRA RALAPRAVADHAHA SOHA
  4. For Good Health and Protection recite the Mantra of King Virupaksa: OM VIRUPAKSA NAGA DHIPATA YE SOHA

Do We Really Need Amulets? And Why Are REAL Amulets so Pricey?

I’m a strong advocate of real amulets and a firm believer of one. In fact, a lot of times amulets has become my ‘security blanket’, something that I really need to be able to help me go through my day or week. In fact, last 2016 I greatly relied on amulets to protect myself from bad the effects of the bad stars.

But the question is whether do we really need amulets and why are real amulets so pricey?

Allow me to answer the first question first. Do we really need amulets?

To answer that question allows me to share you the story of somebody who may be familiar already to my readers. BM is a reader who became a friend. She is successful and regardless of what happens she seems always at peace. She may get frazzled a little but it doesn’t really last long. I have featured BM on this blog several times and it would be nice if you read some of the articles that I have written about her.

BM is successful, rich, businesswoman and sure enough she has the Vajrapani Ruel(1), the Surangama Mantra Amulet(1), the Illness Suppression Amulet(1), the Traditional Sutra Amulets(1) and a whole lot more. But truth be told, if you were to ask me what are the causes of her success, I wouldn’t put the use of amulets and Feng Shui as top.

So what do I think are the causes of her success?

First, her spirituality. I will not describe her as religious. At least, not in the sense of the word on how we describe it. She goes to church everyday, she hear mass everyday, she prays the rosary and do novenas everyday. In fact, she prays the rosary more than once everyday. And yes to some extent she can be described as religious, but she is really more than that. She is spiritual. Religion for her goes much more deeper that the essence of the word. And you know what is really fascinating about her? She never or seldom prays for herself. Her prayers are always for other people. With or without problems she goes to church and says her prayers, maybe even more so when everything is good. This is I think is the first ingredient of her success.

Second, she has a good heart and is very compassionate. She is compassionate; many times she has shared with me whether directly or indirectly how it is to be truly compassionate. And she really has a good heart. I know she gives to charity only because there are times that it is unavoidable for her to share it with me, which is done in the process of sharing with me some lessons. A truly compassionate person will always be blessed.

Third, she works really hard. She is intelligent, but more than that she works really hard. When I went to see her, one of her staff told me that her boss, BM, is really hardworking. In fact, she rarely goes home before sunset.

I think those are the main ingredients of her success. But more than her success she has a good family life also and I can see her husband is still ‘madly’ in love with her. I haven’t really had a long interaction with her children, but they seem to be respectful children. Mind you, they should already be in their rebellious stage.

The amulets for her are simply just an added protection or enhancer, and it is not the main ingredient of her good life. In a way, the amulets are simply an added sugar.

Note: Remember that Feng Shui consists of Heaven’s Luck, Man’s Luck and Earth’s Luck!

Allow me to share something else with you. The Buddhist monks or nuns rarely carry with them any amulets, aside from the powerful protective symbol Kalachakra. While I know that the Dalai Lama, and the Karmapa, while escaping the Chinese government did carry an amulet they seldom carry one all the time. The Dalai Lama carried an unknown amulet, and the Karmapa is said to have carried a Vajrapani Ruel(2) with him. But other than that, Buddhist monks and nuns don’t carry amulets with them, or if they do it is limited to one piece only. But, of course, most of them do meditations and chanting of mantras and reciting of sutras and do various rituals more than half of their day, everyday!

So to answer the question whether does we really need amulets, my response would be NO. It helps. It helps a lot. For some people and in some circumstances it may be essential, but if we get to the bottom of it, if we have a strong relationship with the Buddhas or Bodhisattvas, or Taoist Gods, or for Christians to your Lord, or for Islam’s to Allah then my answer is no. There is no denying that amulets like the Vajrapani Ruel(3) has helped a lot of people, but there are people who have survive without it. At the end of the day, have a strong faith, be truly compassionate, and work hard both for your career and for your relationships, and you’ll find things will be going smoothly.

Now, then the second question is why are real amulets really pricey?

First, take note of the keyword real. Real powerful amulets are seldom massed produce. Sure they can make more than 1,000 pieces per batch, it is seldom made out of a machine. They are always made by hand. A real amulet is made several days and will be mostly likely involves being made inside a temple, in front of Buddha or a Bodhisattva and should include some relics has part of the ingredient (like the Vajrapani Ruel4) or at the very least being consecrated in front of a relic. It is definitely made by a trained Buddhist Monk and cannot be made by ordinary practitioner. Sometimes, it will include some rituals outside the temple, but will definitely include a process being done inside the temple.

The Jatukam involves some rituals by the sea and mountains. And has a relic from the temple being included in the process. They make several thousand pieces by the batch and sometime take awhile before they can make the next batch. The Vajrapani Ruel(5) involves a relic of a high lama, and can never be made without it, so the last time it was made was a little more than half – a – century ago. This batch that we have now has about a little more than 1,000 pieces but it is considered limited because we don’t know when it is going to be made again. And it can only be made in certain places in Tibet.

The Illness Suppression Amulet(2), and the others are not as difficult to make, but still they are made or consecrated only by a lama that is recognized to have the capabilities of invoking the energies of the Buddhas or Bodhisattvas to make the amulet holy and become an extension of the Buddha or Bodhisattva whose essence is being invoked.

Furthermore, while making it is customary to offer a fruits, vegetables, flowers, incense, and oil lamps. So when acquiring an amulet, this is what you pay for. But that’s not what makes it pricey.

It is also customary to give a ‘donation’ to the monk who made it. But this is a misnomer because in truth the money doesn’t go to the one who made the amulet but rather it goes to the temple, for the building of additional temples or halls, for images of the Buddhas or Bodhisattvas or for feeding the monks.

In the case, of the Vajrapani Ruel(6), Illness Suppression Amulet(3), the Avatamsaka Amulets(1) the Traditional Sutra Amulets(2) and other amulets, the money goes to the offerings of fruits, incense, vegetables, flowers, oil lamps, etc. But more than that it goes to acquiring of the image of a Buddha or Bodhisattva that goes to a hall in a temple that is being built in India (for the Vajrapani Ruel(7) a big chunk of the money goes back to Tibet in helping the people there who are oppressed by the Chinese government) and it becomes a perpetual offering of the person who acquired the amulet.

These are the things that make a real amulet quite pricey.

Chant – A – Mantra 8: Creating An Auric Amulet (1000 Days of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Mantra for a Good Prosperous Life and Ultimate Protection)

One of the most common question people ask me is whether we all really need an amulet. What if we don’t have one does that mean success and luck and protection is going to be more elusive?

The answer to this is that amulets are simply but tools for us to continuously tap into the energies or blessings or power of the Buddha or Bodhisattva or Deity to which an amulet is made from. And it is an effective means of tapping into said power. In fact, His Holiness the  Dalai Lama when escaping the Chinese oppression and flee Tibet to India is said to have carried a powerful amulet and a Kalachakra with him. The current and acknowledged 17th Karmapa is said to have a Vajrapani Ruel with him, also another Tibetan Monk who was sent to hard labor and was considered as a political prisoner was also believed to have been given a Vajrapani Ruel to pave the way for his release. You can read the last two stories in a post entitled – VAJRAPANI RUEL STORIES: THE 17TH KARMAPA’S RELATIVELY EASY ESCAPE; THE MIRACULOUS RELEASE OF A TIBETAN MONK FROM CHINESE PRISON AND LABOR CAMP; AND THE WEALTH LUCK BESTOWED UPON THE PRODIGAL SON. So we cannot deny the importance and relevance of carrying or wearing an amulet. However, the truth is the best amulets are those that are aurically created. Something that is not physically tangible but is strong enough to give us physical and psychically protect us and also gives us some of our heart’s wishes.

KsitigarbhaThere are many ways to ‘make’ such an amulet, however, it takes times and some are quite difficult to create and requires a very strong inner chi and deep knowledge of the spiritual esoteric practices or rituals.

Nevertheless, on THE SUTRA ON THE PAST VOWS OF EARTH STORE BODHISATTVA (Earth Store Bodhisattva is also known as Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva) Shakyamuni Buddha (also spelled as Sakyamuni Buddha and also called as Historical Buddha) shared with us one way to make auric amulet. An amulet that is not physically tangible. It does take time to make an amulet but according to my Guru Lama it is one of the most powerful amulet one can have. In fact, according to my Guru Lama when done properly one can also experience an abundance of wealth and financial luck as well as happy life. He is not taking this simply base on the said sutra, but rather he has recommended this to a Singaporean vendor several years ago and who after doing this went to become a very successful and rich businessman.

How to make this auric amulet?

First, it will be easier to do this is you have an image of Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha OR A copy of THE SUTRA OF THE PAST VOWS OF EARTH STORE BODHISATTVA. Light an incense and chant mantra NAMO DA YUAN DI ZHANG WANG PU SA 1000 times a day for 1000 days (which is a little more than 3 years). By doing this, Lord Brahma and Lord Shakra, will always protect you and no harm will come to you and your family, on top of that they will be channel of auspicious blessings that will come your way.

This is a copy of the traditional SUTRA OF THE PAST VOWS OF BODHISATTVA KSITIGARBHA that my Guru Lama sent me.

NOTE: It has to be the mantra NAMO DA YUAN DI ZHANG WANG PU SA and not the other forms of mantra for this ritual to be effective.

I know it’s quite long but technically speaking it is not long for something so powerful. According to my Guru Lama doing this will give you an auric amulet that may even be more powerful than the Vajrapani Ruel. And the Vajrapani Ruel is considered as one of the most powerful amulet in the Buddhist pantheon, in fact, a lot of those who requested for it has shared their wonderful personal testimonies.

Remember this has to be done everyday; you miss a day you have to start all over again.

To avoid confusion, you can simply chant 10 full malas, which is equivalent to 1080 a day. My Guru Lama said chanting more than 1000 of the Earth Store Bodhisattva mantra is fine as long as it is not less than 1000 a day.

“The Diamond of Perfect Wisdom Sutra” is One of the Holiest and Powerful Sutra Amulet That You Can Keep: A Special Recite – A – Sutra Article.

In the preceding post I talked about how a sutra is also used an amulet. This can be a traditional sutra or a miniature sutra. Each of these sutras will definitely be a protective amulet, but more than that they also have different peripheral blessings that they bestow to anyone who has them.

These are just one copy each of the very limited copies sent to me by my Guru Lama of the THE SUTRA OF THE PAST VOWS OF THE KSITIGARBHA BODHISATTVA, THE DIAMOND OF PERFECT WISDOM SUTRA and THE MEDICINE BUDDHA SUTRA. Sutras are also used as very powerful amulets, that is why you will often old Buddhist Chinese houses has a copy of the Sutra on their altar though they might not be reciting the sutra itself.

All sutras offers some blessings when one read it, but when use as a sutra some are more powerful than others, only because the Buddha himself has made it as such. Don’t get me wrong all are powerful but the Buddha himself has indirectly assigned specific additional blessings in some of these sutras. These additional blessings are mentioned in the actual teachings of the Buddha as stated in the sutra itself.

Some of these sutras that are considered really powerful are THE DIAMOND OF PERFECT WISDOM SUTRA, THE MEDICINE BUDDHA SUTRA, THE GOLDEN LIGHT SUTRA and THE SUTRA OF THE PAST VOWS OF EARTH STORE (KSITIGARBHA) BODHISATTVA.

As I said one of the most powerful sutra is “THE DIAMOND OF PERFECT WISDOM SUTRA”, (also called “The Vajra Cutter Perfection of Wisdom Sutra” or “The Vajra Sutra” or “The Vajra Cutter Sutra” or “The Diamond Sutra). According to the Buddha, as stated in the said sutra when one recites and comprehends the said sutra one’s merits or blessings will exceed that of person who fills a trichiliocosm with the seven jewels and gives them away in charity. It will be difficult for me to explain a trichiliocosm but that should be tremendous amount of merits.

Paragraph 11: “Subhuti, what do you think? If a person fills a trichiliocosm with the seven jewels and gives them away in charity, wouldn’t the merit attained by this person be great?” Subhuti said, “Extremely great, World Honored One. Why? The nature of merit is empty; therefore the Tathagata says that this merit is great.” The Buddha said: “But if a person comprehends and follows even a four-line verse of this sutra, and teaches it to others, this person’s merit would exceed that of the former example. Why? Subhuti, all buddhas and all of their teachings on unsurpassed complete enlightenment originate from this sutra.

Paragraph 19: “Subhuti, what do you think? If there were as many Ganges Rivers as the grains of sand in the Ganges, wouldn’t the amount of sand contained in all those Ganges Rivers be great?” Subhuti said, “Extremely great, World Honored One. If even the number of the Ganges Rivers is innumerable, how much more so their grains of sand?” “Subhuti, now I tell you truthfully: If a good man or good woman fills as many trichiliocosms as the grains of sand in all those Ganges Rivers with the seven jewels, and gives them away in charity, wouldn’t this merit be great?” “Extremely great, World Honored One.” The Buddha said to Subhuti: “If a good man or good woman is able to comprehend and follow a four-line verse of this sutra and teach it to others, their merit will be far greater.”

You might be wondering what has merits to do with protection and blessings. A merit is another term for good karma, so simply reciting and understanding THE DIAMOND SUTRA creates unbelievable merits for us.

Allow me to share a short story about somebody who has greatly benefited from THE DIAMOND SUTRA as shared by my Guru Lama. This is the story of an illiterate Tibetan who was born in exile in India. Kunchen is the second son of a family who left Tibet for India at that time China was attempting to assassinate the Dalai Lama. His family supposedly left Tibet 2 years after the Dalai Lama left.

I won’t go into details how difficult it is for Tibetans to live in a country whose climate is totally different from them, or at least, where they were assigned by the Indian Government, which is in Dharamsala. Kunchen’s older brother, who was born in Tibet, was put in a monastery so that he can become a monk, something that is quite a common practice amongst Tibetan Buddhists.

Kunchen became the eldest, and all he remembers that his father has to go to a different place to work, so it was left to his mom and Kunchen to run the house. Kunchen has 2 more younger siblings. Kunchen had a difficult life and so when he reached 18 he decided to leave his family and took his to get work in other parts of India.

Kunchen, found himself working from one employer to another. He seems to be a skilled worker and can easily learn new things, however, it seems his biggest problem that he seems to have a deep-seated anger that he was born poor and somehow without any particular reasons he has detested all his employers.

Soon Kunchen got married and had sons and daughters of his own. He and wife both had to work to make ends meet, and still Kunchen can’t hold a job for more than three years. Although he still considered himself as Buddhist, most Tibetans are and can’t see themselves otherwise, he has never practiced his faith.

Kunchen seems to unable stop problems from arising also. His eldest son had an accident and became bedridden, and then her daughter was sexually molested by an Indian neighbor and she became a mother at 15 years of age. On top of that, money seems to be always a problem, and while Kunchen has always been drinking liquor, these two incidents made him more dependent in alcohol.

It was at this time that Kunchen’s wife tried to look for her mother – in – law whom she has never met. You have to understand the mentality of the Tibetan women or wives, once they got married if they have a problem they normally will seek out the parents of their husbands and not their own mothers. And this is what Kunchen’s wife deed. It took a long time for her to track down her in – laws because Kunchen has stopped communicating with them.

When Kunchen’s mom got the letter she immediately decided to go and pay visit Kunchen a visit. One of her grandsons went with her, but at that time Kunchen’s father had already passed away.

After the initial emotions of seeing each other for a long time, Kunchen’s mother encouraged them to go home with her. She is still in Dharamsala but their life is so much better now, but maybe out of shame for abandoning his family, Kunchen wouldn’t hear of any of it. Because she cannot do anything for them other than to give them some monetary help, she talked to the wife of Kunchen and confirmed that they are still basically Buddhist. She then left with them a book, a traditional sutra, and told them to place it on their altar. The daughter then claimed that both she and Kunchen are unable to read. The mother then informed her that it doesn’t matter and to just put the book on their altar. That book, Kunchen and her wife alter found out is a copy in a traditional sutra form of THE DIAMOND OF PERFECT WISDOM SUTRA.

This is a copy of the big and small THE DIAMOND OF PERFECT WISDOM SUTRA (traditional sutra amulet and sutra amulet) that my Guru Lama sent me. They are quite limited. I only have 10 of the big ones, and 7 of the small ones.

According to my Guru Lama, Kunchen claimed that as soon as he received the traditional sutra, things started to get better. Now, at the age of more than 60, and even he still can’t read, Kunchen and his wife owns several businesses. His grandson from her daughter who bore the child at 15 was the one who helped them run their business. Kunchen made sure all his grandchildren are able to go to school, and they help him with reading the documents but Kunchen and his wife makes the decisions. Of course, now that his grandchildren are older they get to make decisions also.

Kunchen swears that it was THE DIAMOND OF PERFECT WISDOM SUTRA left in the house by his mother who started all the good luck. In fact, Kunchen claims that the atmosphere seems altogether became different. Is this feeling psychological?

I think not, because THE DIAMOND SUTRA itself stated that wherever the sutra is, it is as if the Buddha and Buddha’s revered disciples were also present. And who are the Buddha’s revered disciples, they are the Bodhisattvas or Pratyekabuddhas! This means the place itself becomes holy. In fact, if one recites the sutra, that place should be venerated as a Buddha – shrine. That’s how powerful THE DIAMOND SUTRA is. And remember Kunchen nor his wife could have not read this because they are both illiterate.

Paragraph 20: “Furthermore, Subhuti, wherever one teaches or recites so much as a four-line verse of this sutra, that place should be venerated as a Buddha-shrine by heavenly beings, human beings, and asuras in this world. How much more so is the case where one can completely remember, comprehend, and follow this sutra! Subhuti, you should know that such a person has achieved the highest, rarest of accomplishments. Wherever this sutra is present, it is as if the Buddha and the Buddha’s revered disciples were also present.”

This is indeed one of the most powerful sutra and simply having this will definitely shower upon the holder/owner not only great protection but also wonderful blessings of wealth, health, harmony, and peace.

Paragraph 29: “Subhuti, if a good man or good woman renounces their life for charity in the morning as many times as there are grains of sand in the Ganges, and does likewise at noon and in the evening, continuing thus for immeasurable hundreds of thousands of millions of kalpas; and if someone else hears this teaching and gives rise to unwavering faith, the merit of the latter would far exceed that of the former. How much more the merits of those who transcribe, recite, remember, follow, and explain this sutra to others!

In fact, if you have this sutra, the Buddha has instructed that heavenly beings and asuras, aside from human being should come and make offerings. That shows how holy and powerful and important this sutra is. That is also the reason why it should be put on the altar or on a high clean dry place. It should never be put on the floor, or chair, or bed, or dining table.

Paragraph 30 Sentence 5: Subhuti, wherever this sutra is present, all the heavenly and human beings and asuras in all the worlds should come and make offerings. You should know that its presence is equivalent to a pagoda that all should venerate and pay homage to, by circumambulating or scattering flowers and incense around its grounds.”

Paragraph 43: “Subhuti, if a person accumulates the seven jewels into mounds equivalent to all Mt. Sumerus in the worlds of a trichiliocosm and gives them away in charity, and another person recites, remembers, followed, and teaches this prajna paramita sutra or even a four-line verse of this sutra to others, the merit of the former would not be a hundredth, or even a billionth, of that of the latter. In fact, the merit of the latter would be so great that no comparison, by calculation or by analogy, could possibly be made.”

In my previous post entitled – THE WORLD’S MOST POWERFUL AMULET IN THE BUDDHIST PANTHEON CALLED VAJRAPANI RUEL – I talked about the very rare and yet powerful Vajrapani Ruel. In that particular post, I mentioned how difficult it is to get some personal testimonies about the said ruel because the last time it was made was a generation ago, which is roughly about 40 – 50 years ago. Most people who have the Vajrapani Ruel either had it half a century ago or got it as an heirloom from their parents or grandparents.

However, today I would like to share with you some of the stories shared with me by my Guru Lama about the Vajrapani Ruel.

Although unconfirmed, it is widely believed and accepted by a lot of Tibetan Buddhist that His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, who is the 17th Karmapa recognized by the Dalai Lama, has a Vajrapani Ruel when he made his escaped from Tibet to India. For those who are familiar with his story, his escape from Tibet to India to avoid being a dummy of the Chinese government was quite controversial because Tibet was already conquered by China when he made his escape. Unlike His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama whose escape was made when China was just about to ‘formalized’ its control of Tibet, the 17th Karmapa’s escape was made when Tibet was already officially under China’s rule. Not only did he managed to escape but he did so with ‘relative’ ease compared to that of the Dalai Lama. Nobody could believe that he can make that escape and because of this doubts were raised as to whether he actually is a Chinese spy. The rumor was largely circulated by the other sector that claims to be the 17th Karmapa.

However, for those who happen to be within the circle the recognized 17th Karmapa and the 14th Dalai Lama believes that the relative of the escape of the Karmapa is largely can be attributed to him carrying the Vajrapani Ruel. The recognized 17th Karmapa, whose given name is Apo Gago (Happy Brother) and who was renamed to Ogyen Drodul Trinley Dorje when he was recognized to be the reincarnation of the 16th Karmapa lived inside Tibet for the first 14 years of his life. He was born in 1985. The Chinese government recognized him as the 17th Karmapa but wanted to control and use him to lend legitimacy to their ruling of Tibet. But in 1999 the 17th Karmapa announced that he would have to go on a spiritual retreat inside his official residence. What followed were a daring and also a not so ‘humble’ escape. He went out of his and together with a number of people made their escape to Tibet. Unlike the 14th Dalai Lama’s escape which was mostly on foot, the 17th Karmapa’s escape involved cars and a helicopter, which made it quite high profile and of course easier. The use of helicopter was risky because the Chinese government could have easily detected the helicopter and shot it down. Nevertheless, as mentioned the 17th Karmapa’s escape is believed to have been made relatively easy by the fact that he has the Vajrapani Ruel.

Obviously, the story of the 17th Karmapa is a story worth sharing on an entirely different post.


 

Another story of the Vajrapani Ruel is about Palden Gyatso. Palden Gyatso is a Tibetan monk born in Tibet in 1933. When the Chinese government invaded Tibet, Palden Gyatso was taken into custody by the Chinese government and was continuously subjected to torture and sent to labor camps. Nobody thought that he would ever survived and that he would even be seen alive again, because for 33 years he was extensively tortured.

Palden Gyatso is considered a high-risk political prisoner because even while inside the Chinese prisons and labor camps and even he is constantly subjected to extensive torture as part of his reeducation, he never faltered and continuously practices the Dharma. Those who know about his situation believes that the Chinese government will surely not release him because it will be a sign of weakness on their part, not to mention that they were unable to ‘reeducate’ him.

However, in 1992, Palden Gyatso got a conditional released, he then subsequently made an escaped from Tibet to Dharamsala, India. This came as a surprised also, and there are various stories shared as to why he was released. Although, Palden Gyatso in his autobiography made no mention of the Vajrapani Ruel, it is widely accepted that somebody took pity on him and smuggled a Vajrapani Ruel to Palden Gyatso, and the rest was history. He was released and then he was able to made an escape from Tibet to India. To this day, Palden Gyatso continues to be a voice against Chinese oppression of Tibet and Tibetans.


 

Another story shared with me by my Guru Lama involves that of Malaysian Chinese. The story of the main character of this testimonial somewhat reflects the story of the Christian story about the Prodigal Son. For that let’s just call him Prodigal Son.

Prodigal Son (PS) is the eldest child and only son of a very rich and famous Malaysian Chinese businessman. PS was being groomed by his father to become his heir but when he reached his 20s PS proved to be unworthy to be his father’s heir. He parties a lot and would sleep with different women to the point that he fathered 6 children all out of wedlock and from different women!!!! The breaking point for his father was when he got involved in a controversial group known for being some sort of an illegal drug syndicate! As expected his father disowned him and let him go.

PS continued to live his own life and as can be expected from a person without discipline became a failure. Almost 20 years after he left his family, he was forced to beg for his father’s help again. However, his father no longer has compassion for him and was unable to forgive him.

While his father was unable to see his sincerity and unable to forgive him, PS’s grandfather saw that his grandson was sincere in repenting his folly. He urged his son to forgive PS but PS’s father was not swayed by his argument. It was then that PS’s grandfather, knowing that the Vajrapani Ruel is also a very powerful wealth amulet for he himself attributed his own wealth to this, decided that he would be the one to help his grandson. He doesn’t have much money of his own anymore because of his age, but he then decided to give his Vajrapani Ruel to his grandson instead of his son. He believes that his grandson needs some wealth luck to help him get a new life.

After acquiring the Vajrapani Ruel from his grandfather, PS gradually was able to set up his own business and straightened his life. Furthermore, when his father saw how he has changed, his father welcomed him back to the family, and currently, PS now helps run the family enterprise with his younger sister.

How Dedication to Medicine Buddha Compliments Modern Medicine and a Lesson in Humility

I’m the type of person who hates seeing a doctor, and so whenever I feel sick I will just add several rounds of the Medicine Buddha mantra in my daily mantras for whatever I’m feeling. It always works for me and it’s a lot less expense for me for medicines and doctor fees. This is not blind faith for me, I firmly believe in the power of the mantras and of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. In fact, a few years back, when I was told I have diabetes, I decided to cut down on my sugar and decided to treat myself with ‘temple’ water powered by the mantras of Medicine Buddha and Avalokitesvara (aka Kuan Yin)! To put it simply, its either doctors were wrongs, or I simply cured myself of diabetes.

On another occasions, I used to have really bad allergy, it can get so bad that I have to be rush to the hospital because I was unable to breathe because my air passage will close down. I also used to have vertigo, and the doctors told me that I would always have it. After doing my mantras and energizing my room with Feng Shui charms to enhance my health, I now no longer suffer from allergies and it’s been long time since I suffered from vertigo. In fact, it was so long that I don’t remember when was the last time had vertigo.

However, this had lead me to believe that I don’t really need to see a doctor anymore. When I first experience numbness on my wrist, I ignored it. Soon the numbness started having pain, still I ignored it and refused to see a doctor but started doing my mantras, then the pain started getting really bad to the point that I’m no longer able to lift a pitcher of water. That’s when I decided to see a doctor. My purpose is to understand what’s happening to help visualize my healing when I say Medicine Buddha mantra. The initial diagnosis is that I have a cyst, and an inflamed vein. The recommendation is for me to have surgery. I don’t want to undergo surgery so I decided to have a second consultation, the diagnosis is the same, and the third doctor said the same thing. I decided to ignore them and just do my Medicine Buddha mantra and acupuncture. It seems to work a little, but it soon became apparent that I’m not getting any better. It has become so bad that I’m no longer able to lift a pen to write or simply sign a check.

 

I tried acupuncture to avoid undergoing surgery. I initially thought that it was working, but all acupuncture is able to provide is temporary pain relief. However, it is possible that I really have to understand and learn the importance of modern medicine that fate determined that acupuncture will not work for me this time. I have a lot of relatives who do swear by the fact that acupuncture works!

However, it is possible that I really have to understand and learn the importance of modern medicine that fate determined that acupuncture will not work for me this time. I have a lot of relatives who do swear by the fact that acupuncture works!

I then called my Guru Lama and consulted him how come my WISH FULFILLING AND BUDDHA’S BLESSING MANTRA pendant and my recitations of the Medicine Buddha mantra and my ‘temple water’ doesn’t seem to be working for me. I was surprised with my Guru Lama’s reply. He said, I could be harboring so much pride in thinking that I can do self – healing by using just the mantras. I argued that it has always worked for me. My Guru Lama said it will work if the approach is that of extreme humility, however, he said I might have started harboring an idea that I can be bigger than science because I’m familiar with Feng Shui and the mantras. In hindsight, that is what exactly happened. I’ve started to believe that I no longer need a doctor. Albeit it was a subconscious thought, it was still there. My Guru Lama then suggested that I still chant the Medicine Buddha mantra with the intent that I should be shown on how to be healed. The difference is I’m seeking guidance, unlike before I just assume that what I think is what will work. My Guru Lama then reminded me that even the Dalai Lama believes that Science has something to contribute and offer to all mankind.

Following my Guru Lama’s advice, I decided to chant the Medicine Buddha mantra with the intent of being guided how to approach my healing. Three days after chanting the Medicine Buddha mantra, I dreamt that I was healed already, and that before I got healed I continued to chant my mantra, drink my ‘temple water’ and place my WISH FULFILLING AND BUDDHA’S BLESSING MANTRA PENDANT on my wrist after reciting the Medicine Buddha mantra. I was also showed the face of a friend; this friend is the daughter – in – law of the owner of one of the medical center and hospital along Quezon Avenue.

The following day, I decided to do what I dreamt off and I also called my friend. I have always consulted an orthopedic doctor, but she suggested that I should instead consult a rehab doctor and she recommended somebody. I went to see the said doctor and was told that I have tendonitis, and all it will take for me to be healed is a single injection of a certain medicine. Although, I was warned that it doesn’t always work and that if it didn’t work I will have to undergo therapy. There was no mention of surgery.

I silently said a series of Medicine Buddha mantra and blew on the syringe containing the medicine just before I was injected. The pain didn’t go right away, it took another week and several days more of drinking temple water, chanting the Medicine Buddha mantra, and placing of the WISH FULFILLING AND BUDDHA’S BLESSING MANTRA PENDANT on my wrist before I was completely healed.

The moral of the story here is that science, Feng Shui and religion, should compliment each other. Even the Dalai Lama has said that science has a lot to contribute in understanding Buddhism and other religions. Also, there is a reason why the practice of medicine is there. While I still believe that there are some illness that can be totally cured without the science of medicine just like there are illness that can be cured without the use of Feng Shui and Buddhism, in the end the two compliment each other. We should be able to harmoniously integrate both, and realized that even science itself is a tool given to us by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
