Is There Such A Thing As Too Much Yang Energy in the Summer?

Published Marso 19, 2015 by jptan2012

sunshineRegular readers of this blog know that I always espouse for a balance of energy, specifically Yin and Yang energies. But as I have also clarified balance doesn’t necessarily mean than Yin and Yang energies are in equal amount, in Feng Shui Yin and Yang means there is more Yang than Yin in our life.

What are the examples of Yin and Yang? Morning is Yang and evening is Yin, as living persons, we should spend more of our time with Yang and lesser time in Yin. This usually manifests during our waking hours we need light and when we retire in the evening, it is advisable to sleep with the lights dimmed so we have some Yin. Sleeping itself is a Yin activity of the body with great Yang effect.

It is easier to feel the effects of too much yin, and we seldom hear Feng Shui experts talking about the dangers of being exposed to too much yang energy. But is there such a thing as too much yang? The straight answer to that is yes, but then yang is so much preferred that too much yang is simply not taken into consideration.

In my recent trip to the popular resort island here in the Philippines, some local government officials consulted me about what they dubbed as mysterious deaths that happens in April to early May. They said these are cases of people simply having fun and they would suddenly drop dead. They said the number of deaths is quite bothersome, and when they checked their records, they said that almost half of the deaths that happen in the island occur during April to May. It takes all their PR efforts to ensure that this news doesn’t come out to the media, but they said it is really significant.

Much of these deaths they said happens during an activity, whether it is island hopping or some water sports or it can be during party time. Most, if not all these mysterious deaths, happens to young people between the ages of 20 to 35.beachparty

Obviously, I won’t be able to offer a very accurate comment about these mysterious deaths, but when they explained to me what happened, I think this could be a case of an exposure to excessive yang energies! I came to this conclusion because of what they said; some of the common factors are these people die on their 3rd or 4th day in the island. A lot of them have been found to party a lot and on top of that, a lot of them are sometimes too drunk to go back to their hotel and have slept on the beach in the morning under the heat of the sun. Several of them have even abused themselves further by going without sleep or only sleeping for a few hours. Meaning there was not much exposure to yin energies or yin activities, it’s all yang.

Too much yang is also bad. The very first thing that it will affect is our tempers and heart or blood circulation. Go figure, a lot of these deaths was caused by simply their heart working too much that it seems to simply give up on them. So remember, too much yang, although rare, can happen and its effect is felt far faster than that of yin energy.

So remember the next time you go to Boracay or Panglao or Puerto Galera in the Philippines or to any other resort in other countries, enjoy the strong yang energy of the summer but have some yin energies as well. Do not kill off your yin energies because it might kill you also.

Have Some Summer Fun But Be Conscious of Feng Shui!

It’s summer once again in the Philippines, and a lot of people are going to the beaches or resorts again to have fun. Boracay, Panglao in Bohol, and Puerto Galera, among other destinations here in the Philippines are again teeming with tourists.

Some resorts in an attempt to make their pool aesthetically appealing creates some Feng Shui blunders that may be bad for those who swim.

And as tourist, remember in my earlier post that while yang energy is really good, please be aware that there is such a thing as too much yang energy and you should do try to get some rest.

But more than that, you should also be aware that there are a lot of resorts that may be aesthetically nice but may be bad in terms of Feng Shui. For example, some resorts loves putting a bridge over their swimming pools, and for us tourists we might find this beautiful, but remember swimming under the a bridge is like walking under a stair. It creates a lot of bad energy for us and might affect us long term.
