Do Not Cut Your Mala Bead Even If The Thread Is About To Break!

Published Pebrero 24, 2016 by jptan2012

Several weeks ago I got a frantic call from a friend who said she has been experiencing a lot of bad luck lately. The first thing I asked her is whether she made some renovations, because I’m familiar with her house and office and I have done some Feng Shui audit on them. She clarified that they have not made any renovations, and so I had to recheck her Bazi /Paht Chee chart but there is simply nothing in her chart that indicates as to why she is having a series of bad luck.mala bead2

I did an oracle for her, but because I’m clueless the oracle that I did is really broad. Nevertheless, the oracle indicates that her bad luck has stemmed out of something that she did. And so she has to rack her brain and think about as to what bad things she has done, and she simply can’t remember anything because according to her she really tries her best to be good. Without knowing as to what the cause is, I decided to ask her to simply get a Vajrapani Ruel, because the Vajrapani Ruel is an amulet that helps protect you from negative energies or chi, especially the one that you don’t know what really the cause is. While the Vajrapani Ruel has a lot of wealth luck, or money luck, or financial luck testimonials from other readers, it is primarily a protection amulet.

Before we parted, because we haven’t seen each other for a long time, we decided to chat a little more. I told her about the new online crystal store that I discovered, and she told me that she is still using the Mala Beads (Buddhist prayer beads) that I gave her before every day for chanting mantra. She then said that it was restrung because the old string is almost breaking, and she is afraid that it might break while she is chanting her mantras! Voila! I now know the cause as to why is having some bad luck! She had to cut the old string of her Mala Beads before it even give out on its own!

What she did was a terrible blunder. Do not cut your mala beads before it give out on its own. If you think it’s about to break take extra precautions only to make sure that you don’t lose any of the beads. But wait for it to break on its own do not cut it, because breaking it signifies that you are cutting all the good energies that goes with it throughout the years that you are using it.

The next question is wouldn’t it bring bad luck it break while you are using it? The answer to that is not! It’s a natural occurrence and breaking comes with time. In fact, some Buddhist monks or Buddhist nuns even believe that when it break, the Buddha or Bodhisattva name or mantra you are chanting at that moment is showing you that they are breaking the bad luck from the good luck. Thus it is important to replace it on the same day that it breaks. Personally, I don’t know whether this is true or not because some Buddhist monks or nuns, especially the one in the Zen tradition doesn’t believe this.

If you live in a place where replacing the Mala Beads (Buddhist Prayers Beads) is not easy, I would suggest getting one in advance and put it on your altar or a safe secure place for safekeeping and take it out once the need arises.

Going back to my friend, well, she is just happy that the Vajrapani Ruel took away all her bad luck!

What is the Next Best Thing if One Can’t Have the Vajrapani Ruel?

Published Pebrero 23, 2016 by jptan2012

I debated whether this is topic that I want to write about because it might be useless to write about something that will be gone. You see, the Vajrapani Ruel is made by batches, and the last time it was made was approximately a half century ago.

When I first wrote about the Vajrapani Ruel last Jan. 8, 2015 in a post called “World’s Most Powerful Amulet in the Buddhist Pantheon Called Vajrapani Ruel”, I thought my Guru Lama will only allow me to distribute 30 pieces only. But since he is really happy about the acceptance of my readers he agreed to let me distributes a few hundreds more.

vajrapani-6

Namo Vajrapani Bodhisattva

I guess the greatest testament to the success of the introduction of the Vajrapani Ruel is that it has become somewhat a heated topic in some Buddhist forums that is because not all practicing Buddhist are familiar with the Vajrapani Ruel. Add to that the fact that even SOME younger Tibetan Buddhist monks, especially those who are born outside of Tibet are also not familiar with the Vajrapani Ruel and may not have seen one because as mentioned the last time it was made before this batch was approximately half – a – century ago.

Another testament of its success is that despite of some detractors trying to discredit the Vajrapani Ruel is that the personal testimonies from people who have requested for it continues to rise. In fact, in my upcoming book “Miracle in a Pouch: The Vajrapani Ruel Miraculous Stories” you will get to know the real names and see the pictures of some of these people who have generously shared their personal Vajrapani Ruel stories.

And add to that testament is that when I wrote about the Vajrapani Ruel and Bodhisattva Vajrapani no non – hardcore Buddhist site has talked about Vajrapani Ruel or Bodhisattva Vajrapani. But now even mainstream Feng Shui consultants or experts are now writing about Bodhisattva Vajrapani. Some of them have recommended regularly chanting the His mantra.

Vajrapani Ruel

The Vajrapani Ruel looks simple, maybe even rustic, but this simple amulet is packed with a special talisman paper inside, with various ingredients, which includes Namtso Salt, soil, various herbs and plants, crystal, and a relic from a high lama. It’s important to put the ruel inside a amulet holder or something sturdy as to not ruin it. If the cloth had tear which exposes or spill the ingredients inside, the ruel becomes useless. The Vajrapani Ruel itself is only about 1 to 2 inches and it varies from one ruel to another.

Speaking of Bodhisattva Vajrapani’s mantra, a lot of people have been wanting to get the Vajrapani Ruel, however, the truth is not everyone can have the Vajrapani Ruel not because it is quite pricey but also because it is quite limited. But one should not despair because if one can’t have the Vajrapani Ruel one can simply chant the mantra of Bodhisattva Vajrapani. While off hand this might not seem as good as having the Vajrapani Ruel, if you do it properly and being totally at the moment of chanting the mantra this should work better.

The mantra of Bodhisattva Vajrapani is OM VAJRAPANI HUM.

Reciting the Medicine Buddha Sutra and chanting the Medicine Buddha mantra, and making flower, fruits, incense and light offerings to the Medicine Buddha and Shakyamuni Buddha today will definitely shower us with more merits.

A Special Ritual to Truly Benefit from the ’15 Merit Days’ – Recite the Great Compassion Dharani Sutra in Honor of the Compassion Miracle Performed by the Buddha! (Feb. 19, 2016)

Published Pebrero 19, 2016 by jptan2012

It’s not everyday that we have this ‘special days’ within the Fifteen Merit Days.

Today, in Buddhism celebrates the day when a high ranking official with burdened by a very chaotic household, where his family fight a lot, invited the Buddha to teach them a lesson on compassion. Upon entering the house, Buddha can feel so much anger and negative emotions amongst the family member of His host. Buddha then talk about the importance of compassion, and then he talked to them about the Bodhisattva of Compassion, Avalokitesvara (sometimes better known as Kuan Yin). After his talk Buddha then sat there to meditate on compassion, which cause him to emit of glow that exudes the energy of compassion. Those who are there all felt the energy and gave rise to the feeling of compassion. The family started loving each other compassionately.

In honor of this miracle, today’s merit act should also include the reciting of THE GREAT COMPASSION DHARANI SUTRA. (You can download said sutra by clicking this link – Great Compassion Dharani Sutra.doc)

Reciting this sutra especially for a person who has done you bad or for a person who really needs to learn or needs compassion will earn you more merits.

It will also be good if one can make a special flower, light, incense offering to Bodhisattva Kuan Yin (Avalokitesvara).

Preventing Other People From Having An Amulet Brings Bad Luck!

Published Pebrero 17, 2016 by jptan2012

I believe I have written about this topic before but it is worth repeating again. Sometimes because of our selfish and self – centered attitude we prevent people from having their amulets. This in Buddhism is considered a mortal sin because in a way you prevented a person from having their luck. This is wrong whether one believed in the power of amulets or not. Whether the act is intentional or not it carries a corresponding negative effect to the person who did this.

The most common reasons this happens is when a person acquires an amulet just because he or she thinks he needs it. Thus preventing other people who really need it from acquiring it.

Other reasons are when you wanted to reserve an amulet even if you’re not sure to get it. Or when you got an amulet thinking that you can simply return it when you realize you don’t want it. All these things will create so much bad luck to a person. Thus it is very important that you think twice or thrice before getting an amulet because you’re initial selfishness whether intentional or not might bring more bad luck.

Similarly when a person bad mouths an amulet this also creates bad luck.

Using Holy Names, Holy Images, or Holy Objects for Selfish and Malicious Intentions Creates Unparalleled Bad Luck!

Published Pebrero 16, 2016 by jptan2012

It is quite amazing in a very negative way that some people can use the name of Buddha or Bodhisattvas or their images or even objects (such as amulet made under their power like the Vajrapani Ruel, Surangama Mantra Amulet, Kalachakra, etc.) in a malicious selfish manner for their selfish gains. But the truth is this happens.

Allow me to share a simple story that was shared with me by my Guru Lama several years back.

Anyway, according to my Guru Lama this happened when he was still a young monk and ‘works’ under a high lama. In fact, at that time this happened he is not yet a fully ordained monk. Meaning he is somebody who has taken the some initial initiations to become a monk. The story involves a Tibetan refugee and so for that purpose let’s just call him TR.

TR is one of those Tibetan refugees who escaped Tibet because of the Chinese invasion and oppression. At that time this happened, TR is a lot older than my Guru Lama. They just settled in India and life has been pretty hard for all Tibetan refugees. Food was scarce and a lot of Tibetan refugees had to resort to relying with food rations, something that I are not used to doing even if a lot of them are not somebody that you can call rich in their country. As a result, a lot of them would like to have some amulets from the temple or from the lamas.

Regular readers of this blog would know that during those times, amulets are only available for people who regularly make sincere contributions to the temple, whether this is monetary or food or more importantly labor contribution. But because this happened the first few months of the transfers not much donation can be done because everyone is busy rebuilding their lives, and no temple has been made yet. Furthermore, the lamas/monks has not yet started with the production of amulets and the amulets that they were able to smuggle out of their temples in Tibet are generally kept first for safety.

One day, TR approached my Guru Lama’s guru. He requested for an amulet because he said his family are getting sick, his children are sick, his wife is sick, his parents are also ill. Something that is not farfetched because the Tibetans were still adjusting to humid and very warm weather in Dharamsala at that time. Without verifying his story, my Guru Lama’s guru agreed to lend him an amulet. Little did they know that the real purpose of the acquiring an amulet is something else.

TR used the amulet to entice their Indian guards and social worker to give him a job outside the refugee site. He told the Indians that when they hold the powerful amulet they would be blessed. But he asks for something in return. He said they would have to give him a job outside the camp. They agreed. TR got his job and he returned the amulet to the temple.

If you notice, technically speaking he did it for something really good. To get himself a job and so that he can properly feed his family. But despite of that fact he still got sick and soon he was unable to walk. Western medical practitioners and even Tibetan medicine people are unable to find what’s wrong with him and soon he has to reach out to my Guru Lama’s guru again where he finally admitted what he did. Unfortunately, TR never recovered from his illness.

My Guru Lama said, his guru explained to him that what TR did is one of the gravest sin one can person can do. Used a holy object, or holy name (such as names of Buddhas or Bodhisattvas) maliciously even for a ‘noble’ purpose. The end doesn’t justify the mean.

My Guru Lama explained that while technically speaking TR’s purpose his noble, it was still kind of selfish and that he was malicious when he lied to be able to get the amulet. Thus he created a grave sin against the Buddha or Bodhisattva themselves, and while they are compassionate, he created his own negative karma, which he has to pay for.

So let us remember, never be malicious and selfish when it comes to Holy Names, Images or Objects, because it will create a very bad karma that even acquiring powerful amulets or images or crystals might not prevent.
